Chapter 15: NOT A GOOD START
SOHEE wore the clothes that Kim Haewon told him to wear for his first day as a freshman student at Yonhee University.
He kept it simple, but he still made sure he looked neat and presentable.
I should get the twins a thank-you gift later.
Sohee left his apartment early because he was planning to commute to school.
But, then, a familiar old man greeted him.
Oh.
It's Chairman Kim's secretary.
Aigoo.
Sohee had no choice but to follow the old secretary who greeted him politely before ushering her to a black car.
He got in, sitting in the backseat next to Chairman Kim Hyungsik.
"Let me bring you to school today," Chairman Kim Hyungsik said, smiling. "Don't worry— we'll drop you off one block away from your university."
Sohee nodded politely. "Thank you, Chairman."
The car drove away after the old secretary got in the passenger seat.
Yes, they had a different driver— it was a man who looked around the same age as Shin Kang, Kim Heedo's personal "butler."
"Do you know, Sohee-ya?"
"What is it, Grandfather?"
"Ever since you married our Heedo, good things keep happening to our family and the company," Chairman Kim Hyungsik said, a big smile spread across his face. "My surgery was also a success, and my doctors said I'm healthier than ever. The same goes for the entire family. It was as if all the misfortune that we encountered before was nothing but a bad dream."
Ah, no wonder the Kim Family is being extra good to me.
"I'm glad to hear that then, Grandfather," Sohee said politely. "You're taking good care of me, after all."
"Can I ask a favor?"
"Of course, sir. What is it?"
"Can you check on our Heedo?" Chairman Kim Hyungsik said. "He hasn't shown up to any family gathering after he got his own place. If you see him at school, can you convince him to show his face to his family? And, if you could, please drag that brat back to our house."
That sounded like a complicated request.
But I'm not that thick-skinned to ignore the request of the person providing me with the life that I'm currently enjoying.
And Sohee was actually worried about Kim Heedo anyway.
"I understand, Grandfather," Sohee said, smiling. "I'll look for Kim Heedo and convince him to go home with me."

DINNER PARTY.
Sohee had a hectic first day because his age got the attention of most of his classmates.
I'm a twenty-five-year-old freshman, after all.
Hence, when they got to a Korean barbecue restaurant for the welcome party of the Department of Webtoon Animation's freshmen, people still wouldn't stop asking him why he entered college late.
He couldn't use the military as an excuse.
Omegas aren't required to enlist, after all.
"Life happened, but I'm in a good place now," Sohee said vaguely, smiling even though he was already a little drunk. He wasn't ashamed of his past, but he had no reason to ruin the mood either. "Can't you just give me a toast since I'm starting anew?"
"Of course!"
"Yes, we should celebrate tonight!"
"There's no age limit when it comes to getting your degree anyway!"
And, soon, the sunbaes/upperclassmen of their department joined the toast.
"FOR PARK SOHEE'S NEW LIFE!"
Aigoo.
Sohee chuckled when a sunbae— that was the same age as him— suddenly yelled his name out loud.
It was embarrassing because the restaurant wasn't just full of people from their major.
They were sharing that place with the Business Administrator students.
That's Kim Heedo's department, but I don't see that kid anywhere.
Sohee wouldn't miss Kim Heedo even in a crowded restaurant.
After all, that kid was freaking handsome even by elite Alphas' standards.
"Sohee-ya?"
Hmm?
Sohee was about to finish the remaining soju in his glass when he heard a familiar voice call his name.
"Is that really you, Park Sohee?"
Aigoo.
The handsome Alpha who looked like he couldn't believe Sohee was there was none other than Ahn Yujae.
My ex-boyfriend.
Fuck.

"WHY is it so hard for you to believe that Park Sohee is attending the same school as us?"
"How could that be possible? That bastard was broke as hell!"
"Oh, right. We saw him getting chased by loan sharks once, right?"
"Exactly! So, where did he get the money to pay for his tuition fee?"
"Maybe Park Sohee is being sponsored by those loan sharks now? I mean, he's pretty— and he's a male Omega…"
Haaah.
Kim Heedo just wanted a smoke, but he couldn't do that now after hearing people talking shit about Park Sohee in the smoking area.
He couldn't see those people, but he could tell that they were from his department.
And those bastards seemed to know Park Sohee well.
Sohee Hyung, it's only your first day of school and you're already the center of a nasty rumor.
