Chapter 12: Bruno
"The product is illegal, if we were to transport it, then my business would fail if we get caught," Vixen voiced out.
The woman smirked, walked to the chair, she sat on it crossing her legs.
"It seems you need to be taught a lesson, maybe if you could see how serious I am then you will do as according to what I've said," the woman said calmly as it angered Vixen's men.
They were about to approach her but Vixen raised his hand and then they had no other choice but to retreat.
"Before the end of this week, I'll transport it, " he said relaxed.
"Ahhh," the woman cheered out of joy but then she replaced it with a serious face and a small smile.
"I didn't know you would be so diligent, dear Vixen, you have been a good messenger, I will have to go now," she stood up about to leave when Vixen spoke.
"You know this is going to cause a lot for me, who's going to take responsibility if this deal flunks?" The woman stopped turning around to look at him spreading her red-tinted lips.
"Why are you asking? You know what, there's no need to behave innocent about this. You've transported weapons, chemicals, and drugs illegally, and why are you behaving like you can't do this? And Vixen, you know how to transport bodies, right?" She asked callously.
"Besides, this isn't your first time transporting a body. So what's the big deal if it flunks? I'm sure you know how to take care of it."
She added in conclusion and then she left the room.
As she walked away, Vixen was reminded of her conclusion when he asked her identity that night.
"Just like the way she got shot, that's the same way I am, you want to know?" Vixen stayed silent as the woman wickedly grinned, she flickered her fingers.
"I'm a ticking bomb to my nemesis." She stated coldly.
At a cargo station, a ship freighted goods that were derived from a truck, and men severely operated strongly to make conveyance, among these goods, a freezer was carefully carried containing a body that had a stamp on the door of the freezer.
It was penned " Prudence Lane".
With folded arms, Enim stared at the showering rain, watching how the atmosphere grew cold and dark revealing the emitting stars of the city's lightening, her fingers twined with the handle of the teacup, and she raised it to take a sip of her coffee.
Just as she silently enjoyed the moment, the door was ajar making Enim turn around just to see a maid coming in let in by a bodyguard dressed in black and glasses outside the room.
The maid gave her greetings as she bowed her head.
"Ma'am, we have to be on our way," the maid informed as Enim furrowed her eyebrows.
"To where?" Enim tried to inquire but the maid didn't make a word.
She knew then Vixen had requested her not to.
"How many things am I going to do in a day?" Enim added frustratedly as they heard footsteps coming towards the room, just as the room was opened, they turned their gazes to see him with a neutral look, he had his hands in his pocket.
"Let's go now," Vixen nonchalantly stated, Enim heaved a deep breath a bit reluctant but then she dropped her half-finished coffee on a table.
She got out of the room getting dressed into a long black jacket by the maid.
While they were in the car, they stayed silent turning opposite side views in which they were seated.
Enim watched the rain shower as she drummed her fingers on the hand pad of the door softly.
"What happened today-" Vixen was about to speak when the car stopped.
"I'll get going, we're home," she said mildly as she opened the door leaving sharply, one of their men came forward with an umbrella placed on top of her guarding her up the stairs towards the entrance of the house.
As Enim walked towards the house, her hands full in her pocket, the door was opened for her and then she was given attentive care as her jacket was removed.
Her eyes scrutinized the house with memories of when she had visited the house, the house was the same, it hadn't changed even after years.
She recalled the particular time when she visited Vixen's place along with her father and then that day, she grew fond of Bruno who was Vixen's dog.
"It seems he likes you," Vixen said as she raised her head to see Vixen in front of her and then she smiled.
"He does," she said itching Bruno through his fur, as she admired Vixen's big grey dog.
Her thoughts were obstructed hearing the bark of Bruno as he pondered his enormous feet through the areas of the room and then, he took a flight upon her.
Enim was expecting the dog to bite her since it was barking and she had become a different person but as she stretched her hand to hold it, she got to hold the sides of the dog who unexpectedly began to give kisses with its tongue.
She chuckled but she wondered why did Bruno kiss her instead of hurting her?
She gently placed him on the ground so she could give him itches as she laughed seeing its playful ways.
"How did you get Bruno to like you?" She raised her head to see it was Vixen with a puzzled face.
"Isn't this the first time you're meeting with him? How are you friends with him instead of the opposite?" Vixen added as Enim turned to Bruno and he let out its tongue catching its breath.
Could it be possible Bruno knows whose spirit is residing in Enim's body?
"You know what, I think you are right, maybe we should transfer your soul to one of Vixen's dogs instead, it would be better, after all, he loves his dog a lot," remembering Eva's words her eyebrows furrowed.
So Eva knew there was going to be a non-human that would support her even with her different appearance.
"Bruno," she spoke as reached out to caress its hair mindless of Vixen's question but then.
"How do you know his name?" Vixen suspected with arched eyebrows.

Phoebe came out of the bathroom after taking a shower, she walked to the wardrobe to take a towel to clean her wet hair.
As she took the towel, she rubbed her hair taking a look at herself in the mirror as she did so she was interrupted when she received a notification from her phone, her eyes averted to look at where she'd placed it.
She stopped her practice and then headed to take her phone.
Once she saw what the notification was about, she had a grimace on her face.
"Hi. I want to see you, would you mind if we get to meet? I'll send you the address where we should meet."
Phoebe felt a bit confused and disturbed reading the content of the message, who was the unknown person who had contacted her?
Once she was assured that the number was unfamiliar, she tried calling the person but it was out of reach.
She was dazzled by this unknown tactics of the person, she then sent a message.
"Who are you?" She mused inwardly as she dropped her phone on the bed.
Her mother came into the room while she was applying makeup.
"Are you ready for the conference? Is about time we were at that place."
"Oh, okay, Mother, I'll be ready within ten minutes," she informed and then her mother went.
Taking a look at her phone once again, there were no replied messages, could this be a prank someone was trying to pull on her?
