Chapter 8: Long Awaited Meeting
After several days,
Liu Feiyang had been cultivating diligently, gathering Yang Qi in his dantian without any sleep or even rest. Although the gathered Yang Qi supplemented a bit of his physical energy (stamina), it couldn't help much, as the main focus was on the dantian.
His body was on the brink of exhaustion, and his mind had undergone significant strain. One might ask - Why endure such a torturous experience instead of steady cultivation?
It was because, midway, he heard a strange voice. Although it was brief and he couldn't understand a single word, Feiyang had a feeling there was something truly amazing and worthwhile waiting for him at the end of the road.
The Yang Qi kept accumulating bit by bit, and finally… a single drop.
The first drop of Yang Qi was condensed, stored inside the dantain, and with that, Liu Feiyang collapsed.
[The conditions for the first awakening has been achieved.]
...
"Your Majesty.... Your Majesty....."
Inside a large hall, a tall man with waist-length black hair sat in a meditative position. Slowly, he opened his eyelids to reveal a pair of reddish-brown eyes, his gaze sharp enough to pierce through heaven and earth.
"Your Majesty, we have confirmed from all the other mountain passes that no Royal Lord has left the battlefield from their side. This means the two additional Royal Lords who have appeared here are either newly born or a hidden weapon the Ink Clan has kept secret for a long time," a blonde-haired man with the cultivation of 8th Rank Open Heaven reported.
"We have made all the necessary preparations. The army is ready to exterminate the Ink Clan for daring to threaten our Supreme Sky Mountain Pass," another man added with determination.
The man stood up, and a tattered, ankle-length maroon-black coat slowly materialized over his white clothes, along with a sword at his waist. (image)
"There is no need for any of you to go," he declared.
The scene shifted, It was now the Ink Battlefield, where millions of Ink Clan members approached the mountain pass. Among them were over a thousand high-rank (6th Rank) and above.
"Ink is Eternal!" "Ink is Eternal!"
The chants echoed across the battlefield.
Facing this massive army was the same man, floating in the sky. He stretched out his right hand slightly, and a small array formed on his palm. As he rotated the formation, dark clouds began to gather above the huge army ink, very soon encompassing them all.
"Punishment of Chronos."
Thousands upon thousands of green-black lightning strikes descended upon the million-strong army. All Ink Clan members up to high rank were decimated in the first wave, the Feudal Lords in the subsequent waves, and the few Territory Lords who survived perished from the corrosion caused by the Time Force.
The million-strong army was wiped out in seconds, felled by a single attack from this man.

Liu Feiyang slowly opened his eyes and saw a pure white sky, devoid of clouds or even the sun. He stood up to check his surroundings and found himself in an enormous grass field, unlike anything he had ever seen before.
"Where the hell am I?" he muttered, thinking about the possible explanations for his situation. Then it clicked. "Oh, it must be one of those moments where the protagonist's powers are revealed to him. So, is this my mind space?"
"You sure are good at making guesses, Liu Feiyang," a distorted voice said from behind him and he quickly turned around. There was nothing there up until a moment ago, but now, a cloud of smoke could be seen, with a pair of crimson eyes staring at him.
The sight made Feiyang a little nervous, but he took a deep breath and said, "If my guess is right, then I should have a great amount of control over this place."
Stretching his right hand toward the cloud, he willed it to disperse, revealing a figure that rang a bell in his mind. The man appeared virtually identical to him, except inverted in color. He was tall and lean-built, with white skin, black nails, and white hair, wearing a white shihakushō with a black cloth belt. (image)
'He should be my Zanpakuto,' Feiyang thought, hoping his guess was correct.
"So, you've got a brain too, hehe. That man is going to love you," the figure said, his distorted voice now slightly clearer.
"I'm not into men, and who are you even talking about?" Feiyang replied.
The white figure smiled, and something started emerging from Liu Feiyang's shadow, making him jump back.
As the shadowy energy dissipated, it revealed a tall, lean-built, stoic middle-aged man having pale skin, high cheekbones, stubble, and long, ragged black hair with brown highlights. His attire consisted of a tattered white dress with an upturned collar and cuffs, black pants, low-heeled boots, and a long, amorphous black overcoat with burgundy highlights flaring out into ragged ends. "It is nice to finally meet you, Liu Feiyang. Or perhaps..." the man greeted him, pausing for an answer.
"There is no doubt, old man. The same soul, the same body, and I don't feel anything foreign or strange from him, so I'm 99% sure it's him—even though he's been acting weird for a while," the white figure said, then turned to Liu Feiyang.
"Also, you can call me White. Call that guy whatever you like."
Liu Feiyang was able to understand why had doubts over if he is really him and tried to explain. "I really am Liu Feiyang, and I can understand why you're skeptical. Is there a way for me to show you my memories? Explaining everything would take too long and wouldn't be believable either."
"We've been watching you since you were born, so we already know everything about you. But there is a part of your mind that has been sealed since birth," the man in the black coat said.
Their location changed to a completely white space with a large gray ball of light hovering above them.
"The seal on this section of your mind broke more than a month ago, and it happened on its own. Even though there was no change in your soul, you started acting like a different person. We've tried accessing this part many times, both before and after the seal broke, out of concern for your safety, but we've failed every time."
"I see. Let me try then," Liu Feiyang said, reaching for the strange ball of energy. A strand of energy extended from it and connected to his head.
Feiyang quickly understood what it was and smiled. "I thought it was something mysterious, but it's just this. Well, It's important to me, and you should see it for yourselves."
Two more strands of energy emerged and connected to White and the older man. A large influx of memories was transferred to them, causing them to close their eyes in concentration.
After a few minutes, they opened their eyes. White's face showed visible astonishment, while the older man appeared mildly surprised, he really was not the expressive or reactive type.
"YOU REINCARNATED!? HOW THE HELL DID THAT BEING DO IT?"
"So this strange ball of energy was actually your memories from your past life, unlocked after you turned fourteen. Putting aside the impossibility of your situation, you're still Liu Feiyang, and that's all that matters to us," the older man said.
White's reaction was dramatic, while the older man simply seemed relieved.
"I don't know how it's possible myself. It's something I'd only read about in books. Even in the 3,000 worlds, I don't think there's a method to allow one to truly reincarnate. At best, it lets you transfer a part of your soul to be reborn, which isn't true reincarnation," Feiyang explained.
Note: Here, Liu Feiyang refers to the method Yang Kai used in the original work to surpass his limits and break through to 9th Rank Open Heaven—Three Part Reunification Art—and the reincarnation-like art used by Shi/Devourer (one of the first 10 Human race cultivator) to reincarnate which ended as a failure, allowing a fragment of his soul as Wu Kuang.
"You're right. True reincarnation with previous life memories isn't possible as far as I know," the older man agreed.
"HEY, HEY, HEY!" White shouted, grabbing their attention. "You guys aren't even focusing on the main thing. Reincarnation is one thing, but this guy came from a place where the lives of all the people in the 3,000 worlds were in a picture book—"
"A manhua," Liu Feiyang corrected.
"Yeah, that! And what are these things called Shinigamis in that thing called anime? They're the same Light Spirit Race but in a different world with much stronger innate divine abilities but quite weak compared to us, I must add."
"Innate divine abilities, that's a great way to describe hax. I get that you're excited, but you'll get used to it," Liu Feiyang said to White, also making a mental note to ask about Light Spirit Race when he is finished.
"No, it's not about excitement. If you've carefully read that book, doesn't that mean you already know what's going to happen in the future?"
"That's the key. I'm hoping to use that information to get stronger—stronger than even the original main character."
"I'm afraid you can't rely on that information," the older man said firmly, making the other two nervous.
