Chapter 29: Chapter 29: Sokovia

The enemy's strength lay not only in their overwhelming numbers but also in their ability to regenerate. Even when they were smashed to pieces, within seconds, they would reassemble and come back stronger. Focusing solely on defeating the minions was futile.

The top priority now was finding Ultron. Only by defeating him could these minions be permanently destroyed. Otherwise, with Ultron continuously providing energy, the robotic soldiers would endlessly regenerate.

"Increase the search effort! We're running out of time. I can already feel the air getting thinner," Captain America said, his expression darkening.

The situation was worsening. Not only had they failed to locate Ultron, but the regenerating soldiers were also becoming harder to deal with. As Sokovia rose higher into the sky, the thinning air made combat increasingly difficult. If this continued, Sokovia would truly become a "meteor" capable of catastrophic destruction.

Just as a dozen robotic soldiers charged at Captain America, ready to engage him in a fierce battle, two streaks of light—one silver and one red—descended from the heavens. The impact of their landing shattered the incoming robotic soldiers into pieces.

This time, the soldiers were smashed so thoroughly that regeneration was impossible.

"It's you two?"

As the glow dissipated, Captain America could finally see the newcomers clearly. It was none other than Wanda and Quicksilver!

"Our boss sent us to help you. Tell the police to pull back," Quicksilver said casually, stepping forward.

The moment he finished speaking, a radiant light of intertwined silver and green enveloped Quicksilver. In an instant, he vanished from view, leaving only a faint blur. When he reappeared, all the nearby robotic soldiers had exploded into shards, leaving behind only piles of debris.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Wanda wasted no time either. Scarlet and emerald energy danced at her fingertips, appearing like intelligent, living creatures. Despite their seemingly harmless appearance, the sharp whistling sound they made as they flew through the air hinted at their deadly power.

Her chaos magic infiltrated the robotic soldiers. In an instant, the green threads holding their bodies together turned red and reversed, forcing them to attack other robots controlled by the Green Lantern energy. Both sides ultimately destroyed each other in mutual annihilation.

The swift and overwhelming display of power left the Avengers momentarily stunned. They had only encountered the twins twice before.

The first time, they had been experimental subjects of the Mind Stone. The second time, they had joined Han Yu's camp. But now, in less than half a month, the two had become ridiculously strong—unbelievably so.

The Avengers knew the Mind Stone granted them abilities, but this level of power far exceeded their expectations.

"They have Green Lantern rings too? There's more than one of these things?"

Behind his steel mask, Tony Stark narrowed his eyes. He recognized the green energy emanating from Wanda and Quicksilver during combat. It was the same energy as Han Yu's Green Lantern ring.

"Did I misjudge? Should I not have extracted its energy for Ultron?"

Stark had initially assumed the ring was just an energy storage device. But watching Wanda and Quicksilver fight, he realized its true purpose.

The Green Lantern ring wasn't just a tool for storing energy; it could directly channel power for offense and defense. If he had understood this earlier, he could have used the Mind Stone to create Ultron while keeping the ring as a trump card, avoiding the current disaster.

With Wanda and Quicksilver joining the fight, the Avengers felt a massive reduction in pressure.

The robotic soldiers, devoid of any consciousness, were programmed solely to eliminate the Avengers. They attacked relentlessly but lacked any strategy or adaptation.

"I'm fast. I'll rescue the civilians. Give me a wireless earpiece," Quicksilver said to Captain America. Though he hadn't completely let go of his grudge against the Avengers, lives were at stake. Being petty now would only put others in danger.

"Alright. I'll give you some coordinates. There are people in need there," Captain America replied without hesitation, handing wireless earpieces to both Wanda and Quicksilver.

"These robots don't seem like they're trying to kill us… It feels more like they're stalling us," Thor remarked, sensing something was amiss. Despite the ferocity of the attacks, the enemy hadn't employed any large-scale, devastating weapons.

They should have been using every means possible, yet they refrained from employing large-scale, destructive weapons. Could it be they were trying to avoid damaging something?

Captain America anxiously looked up at Stark in the sky. "Stark, have you located Ultron yet?"

"Not yet."

Stark's expression grew increasingly grim. The Sokovian island was climbing higher and higher into the sky. While its current height wouldn't cause catastrophic damage if it fell, the shockwave upon impact would instantly kill anyone within a ten-mile radius.

Suddenly, Stark seemed to think of something and called out to Wanda and Quicksilver on the ground. "Where's Han Yu? Didn't he come?"

"Our boss is busy with his own matters," Quicksilver replied.

His words were ambiguous, leaving it unclear whether Han Yu was present or not.

Deep beneath Sokovia, the ground had been hollowed out into a massive cavern filled with high-tech equipment of unknown purpose. The only recognizable elements were the raw, blue-crystalline vibranium scattered throughout the machinery.

On the ceiling of the cavern, emerald Green Lantern energy clung to the walls. This energy had been shielding the area, preventing Stark's scanners from detecting Ultron's location for so long.

Ultron stood before his machines, entering commands and performing final checks on the equipment. Once satisfied, he smirked, speaking to himself.

"This will do. Once this island breaks through the atmosphere, the hidden reverse thrusters on the ground will accelerate Sokovia's descent. The damage to Earth's surface will be unimaginable."

"Using Green Lantern energy as a protective barrier... not a bad choice," a calm voice suddenly echoed through the cavern, cutting through the silence.

Startled, Ultron stopped his work and turned toward the sound.

A young man in his early twenties sat leisurely on a chair, legs crossed, rocking slightly as he smiled at Ultron. It was Han Yu—the man conspicuously absent from the surface battle.

"You?"

Ultron's voice carried a trace of surprise. Someone had managed to find his hidden location.

"Surprised?" Han Yu asked with a smirk as he stood, paying no attention to Ultron. Instead, he strolled casually around the cavern, examining Ultron's designs with an air of nonchalance.
