Chapter 54: Chapter 53: The Long-Awaited Room
Quicksilver smirked slightly, a hint of pride in his expression. Before Ultron arrived, his status was second only to Wanda's. Now, with Ultron in the picture, he felt like he had been relegated to fourth place in the pecking order of the Miscellaneous Shop.
Although Han Yu never explicitly encouraged competition among them, Quicksilver couldn't help but notice Wanda growing stronger every day. Then there was Ultron, whose combat potential started high and seemed to have no discernible ceiling.
This only made Quicksilver more determined to improve himself. The Green Lantern ring, a tool that could transform an ordinary person into an extraordinarily powerful being, gave him even greater advantages as someone who already had superpowers.
Once he understood how to truly wield the ring, his speed began to increase dramatically.
Previously, his top speed was around the speed of sound. Now, even without using the Green Lantern ring, he could reach speeds three to four times faster than that.
Han Yu nodded in satisfaction. Quicksilver had been among the first to join the shop, and as Wanda's brother, Han Yu hoped he wouldn't lose himself in a life of indulgence. Otherwise, his potential would stall where it currently stood.
"Han, are these… your subordinates?" Thor asked, his tone tinged with surprise. Although he said it aloud, he couldn't help but think to himself, What kind of person is this guy? He's already absurdly strong, and now his 'subordinates' are this powerful too? If they got serious, the entire universe might tremble.
"They're not subordinates—they're my brothers. Let me introduce you," Han Yu said as he stepped between Ultron and Quicksilver. "This is Pietro, a speed-based superhuman, and this is Ultron, a versatile robot. Don't let their appearances fool you—they're incredibly reliable."
"Wait, what? Did you just say… Ultron?" Thor's eyes widened in shock. He was all too familiar with that name. He had been part of the events of the Age of Ultron. And now Han Yu was calling this towering, advanced robot Ultron?
But hadn't Ultron been destroyed? Thor distinctly remembered this very robot as the one who had defeated him in the past. How could Han Yu be referring to him as Ultron?
Comparing the robot before him to the old Ultron was like comparing a cheap trinket from a street vendor to a finely crafted masterpiece worth tens of thousands. This Ultron could even eat food—what kind of robot was this?
Thor's astonishment didn't faze Han Yu, Ultron, or Quicksilver. They knew the Avengers would eventually learn the truth about Ultron's identity, and they weren't concerned about how the Avengers might react.
Instead, Quicksilver and Ultron were moved by Han Yu's words. "They're not my subordinates—they're my brothers." Although they often acted casually around Han Yu, they had always seen him as their boss, viewing their relationship in terms of hierarchy.
Hearing him call them brothers now revealed that Han Yu didn't see things that way. To him, they were equals.
The two exchanged a glance. Ultron's mechanical gaze was unreadable, but Quicksilver's emotions were written all over his face—he was deeply touched.
"As expected of the person I chose to follow—he's worth my loyalty."
"I need to work even harder to truly live up to being 'Han Yu's brother.'"
Both of them silently resolved to push themselves further. From that day onward, their combat abilities would only grow stronger. In the future, their names would echo throughout the universe: Quicksilver Pietro and the Battle King Ultron. Two simple names that would inspire fear and awe.
Back to reality.
"Enough about that. What brings you two here so suddenly?" Han Yu asked, turning to Ultron and Quicksilver.
"The game is done! We've been waiting for you to come back and check it out. It's been days, and you still didn't show up. We couldn't wait any longer," Ultron said, suddenly remembering their original purpose.
"It's finished? That fast?" Han Yu asked in surprise.
A high-quality game typically takes at least six months to develop, especially a AAA title, where production times are often lengthy. Yet, in just a few days, Ultron and Pietro had managed to create one. Even Han Yu found their speed astonishing.
"Well, of course! Do you even know who your brother is? I've been working on it day and night. Plus, the game development plan you gave me was incredibly detailed. With that, making a game was a breeze for me," Ultron said, a trace of pride in his voice.
Having heard Han Yu personally refer to them as brothers rather than subordinates had stirred even Ultron's typically calm heart.
"Alright, let's go back and check it out," Han Yu said excitedly. It was impossible not to be thrilled about the completion of the game. Just as he was about to take off with the two of them, he remembered Thor and the others were still there. Turning back, he said, "You all handle this matter with Malekith. I've got something urgent to attend to."
With that, Han Yu used Green Lantern energy to conjure a sleek, seven-to-eight-meter-long energy-powered airship. While it wasn't enormous, its interior design was nothing short of luxurious, with all the amenities one could desire.
After leaving the airship behind for Thor and the others, Han Yu and his two companions took off. As they flew away, Han Yu left them with a parting remark:
"Malekith is all yours to deal with!"
Watching the trio vanish beyond the horizon in less than ten seconds, Thor muttered, "What else is this guy hiding from us?"
Meanwhile, Loki's scheming mind was already at work, crafting his next move.
"This guy is truly fascinating. Perhaps I should pay his shop a visit."
Three streaks of light cut through the tranquil expanse of space. Traveling faster than light, they crossed thousands of kilometers in the blink of an eye. Upon their return to the Miscellaneous Shop, Han Yu heard a familiar voice from the system in his mind.
*"Ding! A new item from the Marvel Universe, [Reality Stone], has been detected. Two Infinity Stones have been collected. Rewards unlocked: Upgrade Points 100, General Skill Selection Card 1, and Supreme Loot Card 1!"
A General Skill Selection Card and a Supreme Loot Card?
Hearing these terms, Han Yu froze for a moment. These were items he had never encountered before. Before he could delve deeper into their significance, Ultron and Pietro dragged him upstairs to the second floor.
The two of them led him to a room, their expressions full of mystery. In a hushed tone, they asked, "Boss, are you ready?"
"I'm ready," Han Yu replied, grinning. Despite their theatrics, he didn't find it annoying. Instead, he played along, smiling in anticipation.
When Ultron pushed the door open, the sight that greeted Han Yu was one he had dreamed of, both in his past life and his current one.
Ten state-of-the-art computers were arranged in a neat 5x5 configuration on either side of the room. The space was also equipped with bunk beds, two refrigerators, and an air of sheer opulence. It was the kind of room every guy dreams of!
"Well, Boss, what do you think?" Ultron asked. "Not bad, right? You told us we could spend freely, so we didn't hold back. Each computer alone cost $100,000. They can run even the largest games at max settings without breaking a sweat. The fridges are stocked with every kind of drink you can imagine—just grab whatever you want."
"And that's not all," Ultron continued. "I've secured a long-term partnership with the nearby western restaurant. No matter the time, the moment we place an order, they'll immediately prepare and deliver the food!"
Initially, when Ultron contacted the restaurant about this arrangement, they were dismissive, thinking it was a joke.
After all, they were a high-end establishment that didn't even allow just anyone to dine in, let alone offer delivery. But before long, they surrendered entirely—because the amount of money Ultron offered was simply too much to refuse.
