Marvel DxD: The New Sorcerer Supreme

Chapter 1: Ch. 1 - Youngest Sorcerer

-[Early 2012]-

"Join me, Chamber. We both have sought the Ancient One for the answer to our problems, however, she failed, not only she didn't give us the answer, but she also led us astray from our original goal."

In a dimly lit room that looks like a cheap apartment but with a complete set such as a bed, bedside table, and a cabinet, a middle-aged man with gray hair, and blackish paint around his eyes stood before a young man who just got up from bed and yawning.

Well, this is not what Chamber expected his day to start.

As for how this happened? And who is Chamber?

Let's go back to the past.

In the beginning, God created the Heaven and Earth- No, not that far.

Before his birth in this world, Chamber used to be called Peter Swan. That's right, Chamber is not originally from this world.

He's an average man in an average world full of corrupt people. He's no one from that world so there's no need to dwell much about it.

Let's talk about how he got to this world.

He was murdered, which is pretty normal in his world where at least hundreds of people die every day all across the planet.

What's not normal is who killed him.

A baby. A fucking baby.

You might be thinking, how weak can you be when you're killed by a baby?

Well, the answer is an accident. He was just minding his own business when a mother holding a toddler on her shoulders threw a fucking knife at him.

How can a toddler hold a knife? Not to mention throw it at someone in public?

What was the mother even thinking about having her child hold a knife?

Anyway, enough about that. Right after dying, he found himself in another world, more specifically the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It was exciting at first until you came to a realization that in just a few years, half of the universe's population will turn into ashes.

With no external help that would supposedly help him reach high in power, Chamber decided to abandon his family who didn't care about him since he didn't have the 'business' talent that his parents were looking for as their heir.

With his hard-earned money from odd jobs, Chamber found himself in Nepal, searching for Kamar-Taj, hoping to seek their teachings in order at least to save himself from Thanos's snap.

As if the fates took pity yet disdained him, he was found not by Mordo or Ancient One, but by Kaecilius who recently just turned into a Master Sorcerer, looking for a suitable apprentice.

Chamber could still remember how he almost pissed his pants out of fear, thinking Kaecilius has already turned to Dormammu and is now looking for a sacrifice for a ritual.

Thankfully, that doesn't seem to be the case as Kaecilius not only led him to Kamar-Taj, but also took him in as his student, quoting that he saw immense potential in him.

Technically, he's not wrong, it only took Chamber a single year to master the basics and ascend to the next level.

Oh how ecstatic he was when he remembered the praises that the Master Sorcerers were throwing at him, calling him a genius and such.

All in all, they call him the Youngest Sorcerer, graduating from being a Student at the tender age of fifteen.

And now, he just took his leave from Kamar-Taj, intending to go on a short vacation and perhaps use his sorcery to knock out a few evil spirits here and there to earn quick cash.

However, not a single week has passed since he left the Kamar-Taj, and his former master, Kaecilius now stands before him, offering him a position as his follower.

Although Kaecilius was his master and they sometimes had their moments while going on a mission with each other, Chamber never viewed Kaecilius with love for a teacher, knowing full well the path he'll take in the future.

He was just not expecting it to be this early.

Could it be a butterfly effect that he caused due to his interference by becoming Kaecilius's student? Or perhaps other factors caused it?

Chamber has so many questions in his mind that he can't delve too long as he can see that the patience on Kaecilius's face is running thin.

So he unconsciously answered without thinking.

"I refuse."

The next thing that happened? A translucent spear was heading towards his head, threatening to end his life in just a blink of an eye.

Kaecilius didn't even bother trying to know the reason behind his refusal nor did he try to convince him, his madman former master just went straight for the kill after being refused.

Thankfully, Chamber was already alert and prepared, so the moment Kaecilius made the move, he had already flipped out of his bed while constructing an Eldritch Whip that he lassoed around Kaecilius's ankle before pulling with all of his might.

Obviously, Kaecilius would not fall for such a trick, even if Chamber wants to deny it, Kaecilius is a very strong sorcerer and a talented one at that, there's a reason why Ancient One took him in as her student.

Before Chamber could fully pull Kaecilius's ankle, the aforementioned sorcerer had already constructed another translucent spear that he used to slash the Eldritch Whip and threw the said spear towards him.

Tilting his body sideward, Chamber extended his arm toward the bedside table and used telekinesis to throw it in front of Kaecilius.

It may not be shown much in the films but there are so many spells in the arsenal of Kamar-Taj, including telekinesis, fire production and even generating ice albeit it is too time-consuming as it takes literally 5 seconds to create and shape ice that can be used to stab someone.

Hence, why some spells weren't shown in the film.

Back to the battle, Kaecilius simply conjured two translucent spears and used them to slash the bedside table into half.

However, Chamber's purpose wasn't to injure Kaecilius with it, he simply threw the table to buy himself enough time to wear his sling ring and conjure a portal that leads to a random alley.

Although it was stated that you can conjure a portal without a Sling Ring, there's a reason why Sling Ring is important in conjuring portals.

You see, Sling Rings are used in order to alleviate the strain and immense focus that is needed to conjure a portal, without it, it would probably take days just to form a stable portal.

Unfortunately for Chamber, the time that the table bought wasn't enough to let him escape fully.

Before he could close the portal, a crack in space appeared and swallowed him whole.

'Fuck!' Cursing out loud in his heart, Chamber knew his chances of escaping went down from 50% to 10%.

Inside the Mirror Dimension, the creator of the said dimension holds the full power inside it, unless someone else has more experience and power to fight the creator for control over the Dimension.

The problem is, Chamber hasn't learned how to use the Mirror Dimension yet, he's still trying to learn it back in Kamar-Taj.

Soon, a portal conjured near him, Kaecilius came out but this time, he wasn't alone. On both his sides stood two former sorcerers with dark red robes, looking at Chamber menacingly.

"There's no point in running away now, Chamber. Accept your fate and be thankful I'm considering giving you a proper burial after all." Kaecilius spoke with a cold tone, his eyes which used to be full of light and positivity were now lackluster and ridden with darkness.

He is no longer the Master that he once knew.

Only Chamber knows how much he tried to save Kaecilius from his dark fate by constantly lighting the mood by making jokes, engaging in conversations with him talking about random things, and trying to make happy memories just so Kaecilius would think twice before going down in the dark path.

Yet all of his efforts were in vain, the burden of Kaecilius's wife and child's death weighs heavier than he expected.

"Master, you don't have to go down this path. Seeking answers in the dark will only lead you to an abyss. You can still change while there's still time!" Chamber yelled, hoping that there was still a small part of kindness in Kaecilius's heart that he could persuade.

Sadly, it seems like Kaecilius was already beyond saving.

"You're wrong, Chamber. I sought the darkness not for answers, but for power to kill the person who lied to me!" Kaecilius's anger resonated through his voice, but his expression was not enough to fully display the anger in his heart.

"I spent years looking for answers, why was everyone I love taken away from me? Why do I have to suffer this fate? And just when I thought I had a chance to find the reason, I was playing around like a fool! I was used! Just a pawn that she can use for bidding!" Kaecilius continued, while doing so he was slowly marching forward towards Chamber, his hands making gestures that manipulated the entire structure of their surroundings.

Chamber watched as the rows of buildings, roads, and cars all bent and twisted to Kaecilius's bidding.

The floor that he was stepping on suddenly moved around, forming a pattern that locked his ankle onto the ground before slowly pulling him down, as if the pits of hell had decided to welcome him.

Not wanting to end like this, Chamber quickly retaliated by using a Transfiguration spell to open up the ground where his feet were stuck, freeing him from his binding.

However before he could sigh in relief, his instincts quickly screamed at him to dodge at the side, narrowly avoiding a translucent spear.

He then rolled on the ground just in time as one of the Zealots which is what Kaecilius decided to call himself and his followers, stabbed the ground where he used to be with another spear.

"Give me a break," Chamber complained, conjuring two Tao Mandalas on both of his hands before deflecting one of the Zealot's attacks.

Like a professional dancer, Chamber danced around the battlefield, constantly blocking and parrying the Zealot's strikes.

'Please work.' Praying in his heart, Chamber slammed his palm on the ground, hoping that he could somehow slightly manipulate the Mirror Dimension just for a little bit.

Boom!

Much to the surprise of the Zealots and Kaecilius who were watching on the sidelines, the ground around Chamber rose in a complex manner, circling him.

Not only that, it didn't stop there. More columns rose from the ground continuously until they reached Kaecilius and the Zealots, forcing them to step back and regain control of their balance.

However, this is what Chamber wanted, with the time that he brought for himself, Chamber conjured another portal but this time, on the other side, is a different country.

Just as Chamber was about to step in, Kaecilius recovered faster than he expected, using his own knowledge of portal conjuring, Kaecilius intercepted the portal, causing it to spark and blink several times.

On the other side was no longer the place that Chamber imagined, instead, it turned pure black, as if the portal that he created was in the middle of space.

Chamber hesitated, something that he shouldn't have done as one of the Zealots finally recovered and threw a translucent spear toward his unsuspecting back.

Fwoosh!

Chamber could only widen his eyes in surprise when he looked down and saw the spear stabbing through his chest, exactly where his heart resides.

Slowly turning around, Chamber saw the smirking faces of the Zealots and Kaecilius's cold expression before losing control over his legs.

Soon, due to the loss of balance, Chamber falls toward the unstable portal that leads to nowhere before closing in once Chamber is no longer in their vision.

"Should we chase?" One of them asked.

"No. He's already dead." Kaecilius gave the place where the portal closed one last look before turning around and conjuring a portal to leave the Mirror Dimension, behind him, followed by the two Zealots.
