Chapter 21: Ch. 21 - Anti-Satan Faction
There are so many opportunities that were opened up thanks to my rank promotion to the High-class, such as I could now create more formidable spells and perhaps, creating my own magic circle might become much easier!
"I can see you are excited well, I can understand the same. Feeling like your hard-work is finally paying off and seeing its results with your own eyes is nothing short of satisfaction." My sense of euphoria were suddenly interrupted by Zekram as he chuckled on my side, narrating his own share of experience.
"Now, let's not get off the trail. Earlier I told you there was a reason why I invited you here and even told you my most deepest secret that could've risked my entire life and those involved."
Sounds to me like he's trying to earn my trust by starting with him putting his supposed trust on me just so I do the same in return.
Interesting. What could he have seen in me aside from my philosophical views? A man of his stature could've offered many things such as wealth, came, and even women yet he resorted to winning my trust instead.
What does this mean? It means he's looking for a long-term friendship with me, one that would conceivably reach for around hundred or more years.
You see, things such as wealth, fame or women are nothing but materials that can either be disposed of or grow bored of.
But trust? Trust lasts a lifetime, it can even be brought until death.
"You see, the reason why I discovered how you're a human aside from your distinct human smell is because of the project that Ajuka reported to me a few weeks ago, something about using these small artifacts to turn other races into devils." A proud smirk bore on his face, as if Ajuka was his son or something.
"I was fascinated by his invention and immediately wanted him to test it out. Although I'm quite disappointed that he didn't tell me about you, as I have to discover where you came from by myself but still, now that I'm looking at you, I'm proud to say that the population problem of the devil race has been resolved." He then continued.
"Did I also mention how talented you are? Not many devils can ascend to higher ranks as fast as you do. From what I can remember, there are only four individuals who can achieve such feat…" Just as I was curious about those said individuals, his face suddenly showed a surprised expression before turning back to normal.
"Speaking of those individuals, it seems like they've finally arrived." Smiling softly, I heard the large stone doors bearing intricate carvings, groan under pressure as it opens up, widening the gap between little by little.
I watched intently as I was curious about the supposed 'allies' of Zekram, who are willing to risk their entire pillar family just by joining a rebelling faction.
"Eh?"
However, the moment each individuals entered one by one, my face contorted into shock at the revelation.
Some of them were unfamiliar but I can see three familiar faces among them.
First is Ajuka, who seemed just as surprised as I was upon seeing each other.
Second was Gideon, the head of the Sitri family, who looked at me and then at Zekram before speaking.
"I see you have finally invited him. You work so fast, Zekram." He nodded his head in approval.
Oh right, he was the one who told Zekram about my philosophical perspective.
The last one, following behind Gideon however was what shocked me to the core and the same goes to the other party.
"Sera?"
"Eh!? ChamCham?"

From the moment I was born, I already knew I was special.
According to my mom, at the moment of my birth, I can already use our clan's trait, a feat that no one other than me has ever done in the entire devil race.
Then at the tender age of 13, I already mastered our clan's trait to the point that even my personal teacher was defeated from me.
And now, I'm 17 and getting stronger everyday that even my father admitted that I now surpassed him in clan trait strength.
Speaking of my father, he's currently standing in front of me, telling me everything I need to know while we're on our way to the hidden meeting place.
It's been almost a year since our family joined this Anti-Satan faction. At first, I was skeptical and was even prepared to convince my father of how it's such a bad idea however when I finally met him, everything changed.
Zekram Bael, head of the most prestigious clan aside from the Four Satan's clans, Bael Clan.
During our first meeting, his words went upon and touched my soul as he narrated the dark and grim future of our race if the Great War continues.
Initially, I was already against the Great War itself even before I met Zekram. His words not only justified my feelings but it also resonated deep within me, intensifying my sentiment towards the war.
Zekram was right, the Great War should be stopped, the Satans will die sooner or later and once they're gone, the Big G of the Bible would soon set his sights on us and would no doubt, put effort in eliminating our race.
Thankfully Zekram was able to formulate a plan to prevent such a thing from happening.
So now here I am, standing in front of my father's back while my father was having a conversation with two other men.
"Sirzechs." Hearing my name, I turned around and saw a smart friend of mine, his spiky green hair along with that aloof aura that he always carries around makes him easily recognizable.
Ajuka Astaroth from the Astaroth clan.
"Ajuka…" I smiled, though it soon strained when Ajuka sighed in exhaustion.
When has there ever been a day he wasn't tired?
"Lord Zekram just approved of my project. It's finally time to get it tested on a few humans." He spoke with an indifferent tone, though I feel like he's hiding something from me, I just can't seem to put a finger on it.
"Oh no, she's here." Suddenly, Ajuka's face turned pale as a certain familiar voice sounded out from our behind.
"Ajuka! Sirzechs!" Oh, I also realized who this is.
Coming from behind us, was a familiar girl with her distinctive purple bead eyes and long hair.
Hailing from the Sitri clan, was Serafall Sitri herself, the heir of her clan.
I was already expecting her to give us her usual rough hug that even choked us one time however that didn't happen.
Instead, she just stood there and waved her hand happily at us.
This…this is not the Serafall I used to know!
"Serafall…It's good to see you again." I smiled back at her, greeting her all while using my senses to see if someone is impersonating her or worse, our little secret was found out!
However, much to my surprise, although her demonic energy's aura was the same as usual, but her reserves have increased dramatically!
What does that mean? It seems like Serafall has finally reached the same level as me, Ajuka and Falbium.
She's the last one to step into the Ultimate class. Although she was the last, I still feel happy for her, after all, there are the four of us now on the level of Ultimate-class, which means the strength of our newly formed faction has also increased.
"Congratulations Serafall, it seems like you're not far behind us now." I continued, gathering Ajuka's attention in which he just responded with a nod.
"Heh~ you noticed? I'm so cool right?" She placed her hands on her hips and smirked in triumphed.
Hah~ I wish I had a sister as cute as her. No doubt I would dote and spoil her with everything I have.
"Not only that, but I also made a cooler friend than the both of you! He's also my first and only Best Friend! His position is higher than the both of you!" Oh, now that caught my attention, who in the Underworld could possibly befriend someone who is known as annoying and troublesome to deal with?
Whoever that is, allow me to applause you for your achievement that only a few can achieve.
"Really? Can I meet this person someday?" I asked, curious about this person and see if this person has…other motives for befriending Serafall.
I won't let anyone take advantage of my friend, using her innocence to gather her trust.
"Sure sure! Just remember though, his name is Chamber and only Chamber! You must never and should never call him anything other than his own name!" Suddenly her mood turned 180 as she reprimanded us both for something we haven't done yet.
"Only me myself is allowed to call him ChamCham, and that's because we're Best Friends! Only Best Friends can call each other with nicknames!"
So they're calling each other with nicknames? I seemed to have underestimated their closeness to each other.
Looks like I need to run my investigation on this person and discover his motives.
With how things are finally going well for our faction, I can't let something this small slip, only for it to turn into a bigger threat despite its initial small threat.
We then resumed out conversation with me sometimes leading the conversation by asking things such as how did they met each other? How strong is he? And many other things.
Although I learned a lot from her, I could smell that she's hiding quite a few details from me. What further vexes me however was how calm Ajuka was in this kind of situation.
Is he really the smart guy I know who invented something that solved the devil's thousand-year-long problem?
How can Ajuka not see that there's something wrong with this 'guy' that became friends with Serafall all of a sudden.
For a few times I tried to gesture for him to help me with this one but most of the time he just fell deep into his thinking, falling into a state where he would unconsciously mutter what he's thinking out loud.
Thankfully, a certain bald man, with his height being taller than us finally arrived along with the head of the Glasya-Laboyas clan.
Falbium Glasya-Laboyas, the heir of the Glasya-Laboyas clan, who at the same time, stands on the same level as me, Ajuka and now Serafall.
The four of us were close friends, mainly thanks to our talents of not only being born stronger than average but also growing stronger than average.
"Falbium." Interrupting Serafall who now can't shut her mouth about this Chamber guy, I waved my hand at the bald headed man, who lazily raised his eyebrows as a greet back to me.
Sigh, why is every single one of them have something that is far from normal, added to their personalities? Am I the only normal one among the four of us?
First is Ajuka, who just can't seem to care about anything aside from his own inventions and a peaceful quiet life.
Then there's Serafall, someone who just can't seem to exhaust herself as if she's passively recovering her energy most of the time.
Lastly, Falbium, the most exhausted, laziest and slothful among the four of us. Let me guess, if his father didn't convinced him to come and participate in the meeting, no doubt this bald guy would be found sleeping on his bed for 24 consecutive hours per day.
And there's me. I'm pretty much normal and I don't have any unique traits in my personality that would define me as unique compared to other people.
"It seems like everyone's here now. Let's proceed with the Roundhold table room." I heard my father talk out loud once the head of the Agares clan finally came.
A teleportation lit up beneath our feet before consuming us all, bringing us to the secret location of the Roundhold table.
