Mike clenched his fist, thought for a moment, then turned to his companion. "Hey, buddy, help me out. Take care of that one who opened the door. I've got some unfinished business with Strick."
The Red Demon silently nodded, his body flickering as red mist swirled around him.
In the next instant, he appeared before the mutant known as "The Teleporter." As the mutant threw a punch, the Red Demon vanished again, grabbed the mutant's shoulder, and the red mist enveloped them as they disappeared.
Hah, this Teleporter's ability isn't as convenient as the Red Demon's...
Mike sighed inwardly as he approached Strick, smiling. "Now, it's just the two of us. Are you happy?"
I'll be happy when I'm done with you, you bastard!
Strick broke into a cold sweat, retreating step by step as he forced a smile. "Look, I've never seen you before, we've got no grudges. Whatever you want, I can make it happen!"
"No grudges?" Mike scoffed. "Your men tried to kill my son."
Strick wiped his sweat away. "I never gave such an order. That was all him, on his own. It has nothing to do with me."
"Heh!" Mike sneered. "You guys blew up our house, trying to kill us too."
"Trust me, I never gave such an order. It was all Agent Zero's doing."
Agent Zero, that idiot, what kind of mess has he brought me into?! Strick cursed inwardly.
"I'll compensate you!" Strick quickly added.
Mike stopped, raising an eyebrow. "How much are you offering?"
Strick let out a sigh of relief.
At least there was something to negotiate.
"Name your price."
"Ten billion."
"Are you joking?!" Strick exclaimed in shock.
Mike's brows furrowed as his voice grew cold. "What, you think our lives aren't worth that much?"
"They are! Of course, they are!" Strick hurriedly insisted. "But I don't have that kind of money right now. I'll need some time."
Mike nodded. As Strick exhaled in relief, Mike's expression darkened. "Sorry, I can't wait."
As soon as the words left his mouth, a dagger materialized in Mike's hand. With a swift motion, he slashed across Strick's neck, leaving a thin trail of blood. In the same fluid motion, he stabbed the dagger straight into Strick's heart.
Ten billion? What a joke!
And to think, you valued their lives at that much?
"Spit!"
Mike glanced at the body on the ground and spat in disdain.
"Boom! Boom!"
Amidst violent tremors, two figures clashed, the building crumbling like tofu. Dust flew everywhere, blotting out the sky.
It was the battle between Mr. Sinister and the Black King.
I can't deal with this...
Mike muttered under his breath, glancing toward the other side.
There, occasional red beams shot up into the sky.
Without hesitation, Mike made his way toward where Logan was.
---
The clash between Logan and the XI Weapon was brutal, blood splattering across the cold metal and searing through the air.
As Logan led the rescued mutants to safety, the XI Weapon blocked his path, forcing him to fight.
As the battle raged on, the XI Weapon began demonstrating new mutant abilities, and Logan found himself on the defensive.
Adamantium claws, rapid regeneration, teleportation, laser beams—combined with Logan's already formidable hand-to-hand combat skills, it was an overwhelming onslaught.
Having been sent flying by another slash, Logan gasped for breath, cursing under his breath. "Strick, what the hell kind of monster did you create?!"
Suddenly, two searing red beams shot from the XI Weapon's eyes. Logan turned and ran, but the beams followed him, striking his back and sending him flying once more.
In the next instant, while airborne, Logan felt the twin blades of the XI Weapon stab into his chest. He cried out in pain as he crashed to the ground.
The XI Weapon raised its blades, aiming for Logan's neck.
Logan lay still on the ground, his face calm.
His entire skeleton was covered in adamantium. Though his neck would be cut open, it wouldn't sever, just cause him immense pain. He'd been through it once already, so he was calm, even thinking about how he might counterattack.
Just as the XI Weapon's blade descended rapidly, a low murmur echoed in the air.
"Kill him, God's Gun!"
Ding!
A clear, sharp sound rang out.
The crossed adamantium blades blocked the God's Gun, but they were still pushed back by the extending weapon, sending Mike flying several dozen meters.
In an instant, the XI Weapon appeared behind Mike, raising its blade to strike down.
Having been prepared, Mike quickly pressed the stopwatch in his hand.
In the next moment, a golden light enveloped him, transforming him into a golden statue.
It was as though he vanished from this space-time; though he appeared to be standing still, the XI Weapon's blade passed right through him and struck the ground.
The XI Weapon showed no sign of surprise. It immediately swung the blade again, delivering several more strikes.
"Asshole!"
A furious Logan rushed forward, slashing with his claws crossed.
Ding!
The XI Weapon blocked the attack, its eyes glowing with a seductive red light as it focused on Logan.
Logan was momentarily startled and kicked the XI Weapon away.
In the blink of an eye, the XI Weapon vanished again, but Logan positioned himself between Mike and the XI Weapon.
As the stopwatch's time ran out, the golden light around Mike faded. He tossed the fading stopwatch and God's Gun aside, pulling several cards from his pocket.
"Logan, put away your claws and use this to chop him down!"
With a thought, Mike's cards vanished, and he handed two knives to Logan, while he took one for himself. He also summoned another stopwatch.
"What's the use of these knives?" Logan asked quietly.
He knew Mike's knives had some mysterious abilities.
Mike quickly replied, "Follow my lead and chant the activation phrase. You'll know soon enough."
The XI Weapon noticed them, and Mike's eyes flashed as he called out, "Look up, Chaboku!"
Logan, following the teacher's lead, shouted out loudly, "Look up, Chaboku!"
As they chanted the activation phrase, the knives in their hands began to change.
The blades, which had previously been slightly curved, transformed into right-angled hooks, resembling knives that had lowered their heads.
Logan shouted, "What the hell is this? What's the point of this?!"
"Don't ask! Just use it to slice that bastard when he shows up!" Mike warned, just as the XI Weapon reappeared in front of them.
Mike swung his blade.
Cling!
The weapon was blocked, but Mike didn't look disappointed. Instead, a grin appeared on his face.
In the next moment, the XI Weapon vanished like a shadow, circling around them, launching relentless attacks.
Whenever Mike could block, he used his blade to deflect; when he couldn't, he used the stopwatch to avoid the deadly strikes.
Slash!
Logan, despite being stabbed, managed to leave a deep wound on the XI Weapon with his own blade.
In the next instant, Logan noticed the XI Weapon's speed had slowed significantly.
"Is this the effect of the cursed knife?" he thought, then, without hesitation, began swinging the bizarre blade with everything he had. Even if it meant being slashed three times, he was determined to leave a mark on the XI Weapon.
