Marvel: I Am A Law God!

Chapter 5: "I Crashed Into His Plane!?"

There was no doubt in Ryuji's mind that now was the perfect time to get on Queen Hippolyta's good side and earn Diana's trust. Saving Antiope could turn him into a valued guest of Themyscira instead of an unwelcome intruder.

The system had already warned him: there were two people here who could decide his fate. One was Diana herself, and the other was her mother, Hippolyta. The queen wasn't someone to underestimate, especially with the power of Themyscira's mystical artifacts at her disposal.

In other words, Ryuji wasn't out of danger just yet.

Judging from what he remembered of the timeline, this should be during World War I, specifically in 1918. If Steve Trevor had already crash-landed on Themyscira, it likely coincided with the signing of the armistice. This was right before the war officially ended.

But what could he do if he was forced to leave the island? Where would he even go? The chaos of the early 20th century wasn't exactly welcoming to someone like him, especially since he didn't have identification, money, or a clear destination. Sure, he could technically get by through other means, but what was the point?

For now, staying on Themyscira and rescuing Antiope seemed like the most logical course of action.

---

Ryuji crouched next to the unconscious Antiope, focusing intently.

"What are you doing?" Diana's voice was laced with suspicion as she stepped closer.

Ryuji caught her wrist gently as she reached out to stop him, his heart skipping a beat. To his surprise, her hands were much softer than he'd expected from a warrior princess.

"If you don't want her to die, you'd better not move!" he warned.

Reluctantly, Diana pulled her hand back and watched as Ryuji continued sketching glowing black runes in the sand around Antiope.

---

Strangely enough, as the last rune connected to the others, Antiope's breathing became more stable.

"That should do it," Ryuji said, standing up and wiping the sweat from his brow. He let out a sigh of relief. It had actually worked.

Hippolyta strode forward, her commanding presence impossible to ignore. Before she could question him, Ryuji explained, "This is an enchantment spell—a type of magic that enforces rules. As long as she stays within this boundary, she won't die."

The queen's calm demeanor didn't falter, though the faintest flicker of surprise crossed her face as she knelt to check her sister's condition. Despite Antiope's injuries, she was still alive.

---

"...Is this some kind of forbidden magic?" Hippolyta asked, her voice betraying a mix of awe and skepticism.

Ryuji hesitated before responding. "Uh, kind of? Let's just call it 'rule-based magic.' You might not fully understand it, but it works."

Diana crossed her arms, still watching him warily. "Will she survive like this?"

"She won't die as long as she stays within the spell's boundary, but this isn't a permanent fix," Ryuji admitted. "Think of it like... buying time. The runes bind her life force to this area. If she leaves, she'll die. Simple as that."

---

Diana frowned. "That's... not very reassuring."

"Hey, I didn't say it was a perfect solution!" Ryuji scratched his head. "Look, you have healers, right? Get them here and start treating her properly. This spell gives you a window to save her. If you fail, well... that's on you."

Hippolyta wasted no time. "Bring the healers immediately! Build a shelter to protect her from the elements. And someone—keep fanning the wind to keep her stable!"

The Amazon warriors sprang into action. Within moments, the beach was a hive of activity as they prepared to stabilize Antiope's condition.

---

Meanwhile, Ryuji couldn't shake his unease. The spell he'd used was no miracle—it was a temporary patch at best, draining Antiope's remaining vitality to keep her alive. Without proper medical care, she wouldn't last more than a week.

"You've bought us time," Diana admitted grudgingly. "But this isn't over."

Ryuji smirked. "Saving lives isn't exactly my specialty, but hey, I try."

Hippolyta turned her attention to a dazed Steve Trevor, who was standing nearby, looking utterly out of place. Her gaze was icy. "Are you with him?"

"What did she say?" Ryuji asked, glancing at Diana.

"She's asking if you're together," Diana translated.

---

"Together? No! Absolutely not!" Ryuji blurted, holding up his hands in mock horror.

Steve quickly chimed in, "No! I don't even know him!"

"What's he saying?" Ryuji asked, catching only fragments of Steve's words.

Diana raised an eyebrow. "He says you fell out of the sky and crashed into his plane, which is how he ended up here."

Ryuji blinked. "Wait... what?"

So it wasn't the Germans who shot down Steve's plane? He had literally fallen from the sky and wrecked it?

"...Well, that's awkward."
