Marvel's Magic Master: I Have a Clone in the Harry Potter World!

Chapter 89: Chapter 89: Magneto Clones

Tony's battle plan was straightforward. Wolverine would take the lead, intentionally exposing himself to initiate an open attack, drawing all the enemy's attention. After all, Wolverine was nearly indestructible, and regular humans stood no chance against him.

If mutant clones appeared, most wouldn't be able to handle Wolverine. If a Magneto clone showed up, Tony would handle it remotely from the air, using non-metallic bullets to take them down.

One fought in close combat on the ground, the other provided aerial support from a distance.

During this chaos, George, with his vast array of abilities, would stealthily infiltrate the base. His primary objectives were to kill Zander Rice, destroy all research data, and then rejoin the fight.

Even if they had to retreat in the end, as long as Dr. Rice was dead and the research obliterated, the mission would be considered a success.

George approved of the plan.

The base housed 101 mutant clones with varying abilities, along with armed guards providing additional support. A direct assault would be unwise.

If George could capture Dr. Rice, he could use his telepathic powers to extract memories and locate all research data. This ensured there wouldn't be a "Rice 2.0" to worry about later.

He had no intention of using the research to create his own army of mutant clones.

For one, these clones lacked independent thought and were entirely reliant on computer systems for control. In the future, if they faced an enemy like Ultron or a skilled hacker, the clones might be turned against them before the battle even began.

Moreover, developing and manufacturing mutant clones wasn't simple. Even with all the research, George would need to establish a state-of-the-art research facility.

Such a facility would demand significant time and energy to safeguard, lest other forces steal the results. With that effort, George felt it would be more worthwhile to focus on improving his magic.

His goal today was clear: eliminate Rice, kill all mutant clones, and publicly destroy all related technologies.

However, George would secretly keep a copy of the research for potential future use. For instance, if he needed wand cores, he could clone strands of Jean Grey's hair. While it wouldn't be as potent as the original, the clones' hair might still work better than Xavier's.

Inside the Experiment Base.

"Boss! Wolverine has broken in!"

Commander Donald rushed in, visibly panicked, causing Dr. Rice to frown.

"What's there to panic about? It's just Wolverine. What's the big deal?"

The fact that Wolverine, Logan, had found their base and launched an attack did catch Rice by surprise.

But this was an aging Wolverine, reliant on medications to recover some of his strength. What was there to fear?

Besides, Rice didn't want to appear weak, especially with a beautiful woman by his side.

"It's not that, boss. See for yourself!"

Donald handed Rice a tablet. As Rice watched the footage, his pupils constricted.

"He's recovered!"

The tablet displayed surveillance footage of a young Wolverine rampaging through the base.

Calling it a fight would be an overstatement—it was a one-sided massacre. No guard could stop Wolverine at his peak.

Modern firearms were ineffective against him. Once he got close, it was over for the guards. Even heavy weapons like rocket launchers only managed to knock him down temporarily, and they rarely hit their mark.

If the guards were suicidal enough to sacrifice themselves, they might cause Wolverine some trouble.

But they were human, after all. Faced with an unkillable opponent like Wolverine, their morale crumbled quickly, accelerating the collapse of the defenses.

This panic explained Donald's urgency. If they didn't act fast, Wolverine would reach them.

"Dr. Rice, it seems your base is in trouble. This won't involve me, will it?"

Black Widow feigned fear, but in truth, she saw this chaos as an opportunity. Perhaps she wouldn't have to wait until nightfall to steal the research data.

Rice, exuding confidence, replied:

"Madam, rest assured. It's just Wolverine. Please, retire to my quarters. Once I've handled this trivial matter, we can discuss our collaboration in detail."

"Then I'll wait for you in your room."

Black Widow licked her lips seductively before following a guard to Rice's quarters.

Once she left, Rice's demeanor turned ferocious.

"Foolish man, delivering himself to my doorstep. Today, I'll make him wish he were dead!"

He quickly strode to the cloning chamber and barked orders to the staff:

"Activate the Magneto clones!"

At his command, nine of the 100 cloning pods opened.

Nine identical, younger versions of Magneto emerged and, following computer instructions, marched out to confront Wolverine.

When cloning mutants, Rice prioritized creating duplicates of the most powerful individuals.

Among the 100 clones, there were ten of Black King, ten of Professor X, ten of Phoenix, and ten of Magneto.

Other mutants, such as Wolverine, Sabretooth, Nightcrawler, Emma Frost, Colossus, Cyclops, and Storm, had only two or three clones each.

The clones were far weaker than their originals. Even the strongest barely reached the level of a Tier 3 mutant, so coordinated teamwork was necessary for effective combat.

Although each Magneto clone could only manipulate a few hundred pounds of metal, the combined force of nine clones was enough to pin Wolverine helplessly.

The battle turned as expected.

From the surveillance footage, Rice watched the Magneto clones coordinate their magnetic powers. Wolverine was slammed against a wall, immobilized as steel bars from within the wall pierced his body, pinning him in place.

Rice had access to Black King and Nightcrawler's genes thanks to his father's allegiance to General William Stryker.

After the events of the first mutant war, Black King's body was taken by the CIA and later transferred to Bolivar Trask.

Trask, in his pursuit of creating Sentinels, captured and experimented on numerous mutants, obtaining their genetic material.

Following the White House incident in 1973, Trask was imprisoned for life on espionage charges.

Stryker, who served as a liaison to Trask Industries, seized all mutant genetic data, forming his own research team to study mutants independently.

Though Stryker was eventually defeated by the X-Men, he fled with the data, initiating the mutant extinction program and developing new mutants.

Except for Apocalypse—whose body was disintegrated by Phoenix—Rice's database contained the genetic material of almost every notable mutant, ready for cloning.
