Chapter 94: Chapter 94: Sigma George
T/N: The title itself is hilarious lol
...
"What happened to you two?"
George threw Black Widow onto the ground and quickly cast a few Stunning Spells to knock out the mutant clones surrounding Tony.
Unlike Wolverine, who was nearly immortal, Tony relied entirely on his Iron Man armor. If the suit was destroyed, he was just a regular man—a mortal one at that.
"You'd better ask Jacket Wolf over there. He couldn't bring himself to harm his former teammates, especially her."
Tony, panting for breath, gestured toward a group of Phoenix clones and grumbled.
It turned out that while Wolverine had no problem going all out against Black King, White Queen, Red Devil, or even clones of Sabretooth or himself, he hesitated when it came to clones of his X-Men comrades—especially the nine Phoenix clones.
"Hey, Tin Man, stop calling me Jacket Wolf! I might hold back against old friends, but you hold back against every woman!"
Wolverine, finally breaking free from the Phoenix clones' assault, regrouped with George and Tony.
Tony adjusted his damaged suit, replying smugly, "I prefer battling women in bed, not tearing them to pieces here. That's far too unchivalrous."
"No wonder you both got yourselves into this mess," George said, rolling his eyes.
"We can't waste any more time. With this much commotion, the police will show up soon."
"Reparo!"
With a wave of his wand, George restored Tony's battered Iron Man armor to its original condition. Ignoring Tony's incredulous expression, George began reorganizing their battle plan: "You two handle the non-X-Men clones and the male mutants. Leave the rest to me."
For George, there were only allies and enemies—no distinctions based on gender. Chivalry was reserved for friends, not foes. As a Sigma male, he treated all enemies equally, whether they were men or women. Killing them with respect was his way of showing courtesy.
"Engorgio!"
Activating his Giant Magic, George transformed into a nearly four-meter-tall behemoth. With a massive spiked club in hand, he leapt into the cluster of Phoenix clones. A whirlwind attack shattered most of them in an instant.
Then, unleashing a flurry of Stunning Spells, Binding Spells, Confusion Charms, and magnetically controlled blades, George began systematically mowing down the mutant clones like a harvester.
In just a few minutes, Phoenix, Storm, Mystique, Shadowcat, White Queen, and other female mutant clones were reduced to lifeless heaps.
"That's... disturbing," Tony muttered, wide-eyed at the carnage.
Wolverine nodded in agreement, though his gaze held a mix of awe and unease. On one hand, they found George's ruthlessness against women unsettling. On the other, they were in awe of his raw power.
Up until now, they had only seen George use small-scale tricks and spellwork. This was their first glimpse of him in full battle mode, and the results were staggering.
With the female clones defeated, Tony and Wolverine finally went all out.
Tony, his suit restored, launched high-powered mini-missiles capable of obliterating tanks. The explosion's sheer force overwhelmed even the Black King clones' energy absorption abilities, leaving them dead on the spot.
Meanwhile, Wolverine went into a relentless offensive mode. Foregoing defense entirely, his Adamantium claws tore through everything in his path.
The clones, despite their enhancements, couldn't rise above the threshold of a Level 3 mutant's power. Without overwhelming numbers, they posed little threat.
"Is this lovely lady also a mutant clone?"
With the fight over, Tony walked over to the unconscious Black Widow, his face lighting up with intrigue. Though Tony had seen plenty of attractive women, Black Widow's combination of beauty and poise was rare even for him.
"She's not a clone. That's Black Widow, a SHIELD agent. Forget her. The cops are coming; we need to leave!"
Hearing the approaching sirens, George began methodically tossing the mutant clone corpses into the burning research facility, erasing all evidence. A final Scourgify spell removed the bloodstains.
He aimed to prevent anyone from using the clones' genetic material for future experiments.
Once the cleanup was done, George shrank back to his normal size. Unfurling his wings, he carried Wolverine and Iron Man back to the hidden X-Jet hovering in the sky.
Shortly after they left, a fleet of Mexican police vehicles arrived at the burning research facility.
"Ma'am, you're under arrest. We suspect your involvement in the murders and arson at the leukemia research center. Please cooperate with the investigation."
Black Widow, now awake and handcuffed, stared at the officer in confusion before memories began flooding back.
In her mind, she had successfully infiltrated the research facility as Mrs. Natalie, only to be caught stealing data. A chaotic battle with the guards ensued, culminating in her setting the facility ablaze before being knocked out by an explosion.
The memories felt vivid and real. Yet, with her trained mind, she quickly noticed numerous inconsistencies.
'I need to shake these cops first,' she thought.
Feigning submission, she leaned forward slightly, drawing attention to her chest. As the officer's focus wavered, she delivered a sharp elbow strike, incapacitating him. Snatching the key from his pocket, she freed herself and kicked open the van door, leaping onto a nearby police car.
What followed was a daring escape and a swift call to SHIELD for extraction.
Meanwhile, George and the others returned to Tony's Malibu mansion to drop him off. After the intense battle, Tony's suit was nearly out of power, leaving him unable to fly home on his own.
Once Tony was safely home, George and Wolverine returned to the X-Mansion.
George wasted no time finding the elderly Professor X to report on the mission. From his pocket, he pulled out the young clone of Professor X.
"Well, Professor, can you transfer into this body?"
"It's possible," Professor X replied with a sigh, "but I'm not sure I want to."
The professor explained his reluctance. He felt he was living on borrowed time, staying alive only to help the children at the school.
Before George could argue, Wolverine stepped forward, grabbing the professor's shoulders firmly.
"Charles, you listen to me. You've got to pull yourself together. With a better body, you can teach these kids more effectively. Right now, you can barely get through a class without dozing off.
"If you want to atone for anything, living is the only way. Death is just running away. You know that better than I do!"
Moved by Wolverine's words, Professor X finally agreed to transfer his consciousness into the youthful clone.
