MHA: Mewtwo

Chapter 15: XV: festival 2

The race continued for five intense minutes. Neither Raiden nor Mirio showed any signs of giving up. As they relentlessly tried to block each other's path to the finish line, the rest of the competitors began closing the gap. No one resorted to using their Quirks aggressively; instead, they employed them to irritate and hinder their opponents.

In a final attempt to secure the lead, Raiden observed Mirio closely as the blonde boy ran ahead. It wasn't easy—first, because Mirio was, once again, naked. Yet Raiden maintained his focus. When he noticed Mirio's breathing pattern shift, he smirked internally and muttered, "Disable."

Simultaneously, Raiden used his telekinesis to nudge one of Mirio's feet slightly off balance. The effect was immediate—the blonde stumbled and fell, hitting the ground with a loud thud.

Seizing the opportunity, Raiden surged forward. Navigating through the labyrinth with urgency, he turned corner after corner, flying as fast as he could. Finally, his eyes caught sight of it—a green door with the word GOAL emblazoned across its surface. Without hesitation, he crossed the line, and a resonant sound echoed throughout the maze.

"our first contestant has reached the goooooal! oh yeah! but don't be discouraged, little heroes! keep going—we're in the final effort!"

Outside the labyrinth, spectators watched the competition with rapt attention, their eyes glued to the large screens. Among the cheering crowd were Raiden's parents, his father and mother standing beside Emi, whom they had invited to watch the event. The moment Raiden reached the finish line and secured first place, they erupted into cheers, celebrating loudly. Joy was bright in their eyes as they hugged each other, their pride in Raiden's accomplishment unmistakable.

But they weren't the only ones reveling in the competition's excitement. Far away, in a distant city removed from Musutafu, a man watched the event from his office.

Pale-skinned with striking red eyes and jet-black hair, he lounged comfortably on a couch, his athletic frame relaxed. On the wall in front of him, a massive television displayed the live broadcast of the U.A. competition. The man chuckled, his laughter growing louder and more boisterous as he shoveled popcorn into his mouth, thoroughly enjoying the spectacle.

The TV broadcast showed Raiden winning the first competition, followed closely by Mirio, Nejire, Tamaki, Taro, Hana, and others. Soon after, participants from Class 1-B and other courses began to cross the finish line. The man watching from his office remained engrossed in the spectacle, his sharp red eyes fixated on the screen.

His focus was momentarily interrupted by a soft knock at the door. A voice called from outside, "Sir, I apologize, but I need you to sign a couple of papers."

"Come in," the man on the couch replied, his tone composed but firm.

The door opened, and a man in a neatly pressed suit stepped inside, carrying several folders. "Sir, we need your approval on the budget and to greenlight the new project," the assistant explained, carefully placing the files on a nearby desk.

The boss reluctantly turned his attention from the screen to the documents. Picking up the first folder, he began reviewing the budget, scanning the numbers and details meticulously. All the while, the broadcast continued in the background, showing the remaining students striving to complete the labyrinth.

"The numbers look solid," the boss finally said, closing the first folder. "Now, regarding this new project—when is it scheduled to start?"

"This week, sir," the assistant replied enthusiastically. "With this, the company will dominate the market. More importantly, we'll be able to help people struggling with uncontrollable Quirks. It's revolutionary!"

The boss glanced at the title on the second folder: Quirk: Purification Project. He allowed himself a small smile before signing the documents. "Approved," he said, handing the papers back.

"Thank you, sir," the assistant replied, bowing slightly before leaving the room.

As the door clicked shut, the man turned his attention back to the U.A. Sports Festival on the massive screen. His expression shifted to one of quiet amusement as he watched the contestants push themselves to their limits.

"You've grown, little psychic," he muttered under his breath, his voice tinged with a mix of curiosity and interest. "Your variety of abilities never ceases to impress me. And your octopus-classmate—he has quite an interesting Quirk as well."

A low, rumbling laugh escaped him, growing louder and more sinister as he leaned back on the couch. "Caaaarl!" he bellowed, his voice reverberating through the room like a theatrical echo.

Moments later, the door creaked open again, and another man entered. He was short and slightly stout, waddling forward with a gait that resembled a penguin. Each step seemed deliberate yet oddly comical. As he approached, he adjusted his tie and exclaimed, "Yes, sir?"

The man on the couch gestured lazily toward the massive screen, where the announcers were enthusiastically describing the rules for the second competition. "I have a question," he began, his tone nonchalant but laced with curiosity. "After the U.A. Festival, the kids usually get internships with pro heroes, right?"

Carl, the waddling assistant, nodded quickly, his head bobbing in sync with his words. "Yes, yes, most of them do. At least the top ten participants usually get some pretty good offers from agencies all across Japan."

The man leaned forward slightly, resting his chin on his knuckles as if deep in thought. His crimson eyes gleamed with a mixture of intrigue and mischief as he processed the information. After a long pause, he finally spoke, his voice calm but brimming with underlying menace.

"I see. Let's keep a close watch on who makes it into the top five," he said, his tone laced with calculation. "And above all, keep a particularly sharp eye on the students Raiden and Tamaki. I'll need their locations for the future." A wicked grin curled across his face, spreading a palpable sense of malice. "For now, let's arrange a little game."

His laughter erupted, echoing through the room and filling it with an ominous, bone-chilling foreboding.

Carl blinked, confused but obedient. "A game, sir?" he asked hesitantly.

"Yes, a game," the boss repeated, leaning back into the plush couch.

"Starting tonight, initiate the operation called Slipping into the U.A. Listen carefully," he said, his voice low but commanding. "After the sports festival, you'll have a maximum of three days. Deploy four of our best men to infiltrate the U.A. Take whoever you need to ensure the mission's success. Once they've gained access, their task will be to collect two samples from the students I mentioned—Raiden and Tamaki. Ideally, blood samples. Only one from each. I don't want dead students; the last thing we need is the heros breathing down our necks."

He paused, letting his words sink in before adding with a sinister chuckle, "And remember, this is a secret game."

Carl nodded, his expression a blend of apprehension and nervousness. "Understood, sir. I'll make the arrangements. The plan will be ready by tomorrow morning."

He hesitated for a moment, then spoke again, his voice tinged with unease. "One question, though—why take such a risk? The U.A. is the most prominent hero school in the country. If anything were to go wrong, we'd be facing more than just trouble."

The man tapped his chin thoughtfully, a faint trace of amusement curving his lips. "Hmm… yes, and that's exactly why I'm only asking for blood samples. I understand it's a risk, but I'm confident that these two kids, from what I've observed, could prove invaluable to aiding our big boss with his research. Perhaps they might even fill in the crucial gaps he's missing."

"As you wish, boss. I'll make sure everything goes smoothly," Carl replied after listening to his boss's argument. He bowed slightly, a gesture of reluctant obedience, before waddling out of the room. His side-to-side motion, though deliberate, carried an almost comical precision, a stark contrast to the sinister atmosphere lingering behind him.

Left alone once more, the man turned his gaze back to the screen, where the young contestants pushed themselves to their limits. His smirk deepened as he muttered under his breath, "Let's see how this goes. I hope Carl doesn't mess up."

Back in the arena, Raiden, unaware of the unfolding situation, listened as Present Mic enthusiastically explained the first phase of the festival.

"oh yeaaaah! we have our winners of the first part, yeah!" he shouted, his voice electrifying the crowd. "and to reward their efforts, not only in the festival but their previous preparation, discipline, and ability… the tooooooop five are: Raiden Tsurugiii, Miriooo Togataaaa, Nejiree Hadooo, Tamakiii Amakijiii, and Tarooo fujimotooooo!"

The audience erupted into cheers and applause as Present Mic continued, "the five of you pass straight to the next round, yeaaaah, baby!" His enthusiasm was contagious, leaving little room for objections before he moved on.

"now, for the second competition!" With a dramatic clap of his hands, the ground in the stadium shifted and rumbled. Suddenly, the arena floor divided into two, revealing a massive pool at its center, the same size as the stadium itself. Five platforms emerged—one in the middle and four around the edges—each painted a bold, distinct color: red, orange, green, yellow, and blue.

"for this round...," Present Mic explained, his energy undiminished, "you'll form groups of four! the goal is to steal points from other groups by pushing your rivals into the water! but be careful—you can't use your quirks directly to attack! and to make it even more intense, the platforms will start breaking every minute, shrinking the space for the competition!"

The crowd leaned in, captivated by the spectacle. "in the end, the five groups with the most points will advance to the final round!" Present Mic's declaration was met with another wave of cheers as the participants scrambled to form their teams and strategize.

Raiden, seated in the stands alongside Mirio, Nejire, Tamaki, and Taro, watched the unfolding chaos with mild amusement. He leaned back, observing as groups began assembling on the platforms below.

"Who do you think will pair up in our class?" Mirio mused aloud.

"I think the Naoka brothers will team up as one group," Tamaki mumbled, his voice barely audible as he tucked his knees to his chest, his face half-hidden. "They'll probably bring someone from 1-B, too, since Hana, Rei, and Yuyu are likely to stick together."

"You're right. Look," Raiden said, nodding toward the platforms. He shifted back into his human form, pointing out the very alliances Tamaki had predicted.

As the teams finalized, Present Mic's voice boomed once more: "now that everyone is ready, let's startttttt!"

The arena erupted into chaos as groups rushed at each other, strategizing ways to use their Quirks without directly harming their competitors. Taro and Hana combined their abilities to create a lasso-like attack that sent their opponents tumbling. Meanwhile, Ren skillfully used his Quirk to disrupt his enemies' balance, toppling them into the water.

The arena became a vibrant battleground of tactics and ingenuity. Each team employed unique strategies to outmaneuver their rivals, forcing them off the platforms and into the water below. The platforms, true to Present Mic's warning, began to crumble at the edges, making the fight even more frantic and forcing competitors to adapt quickly.

From the stands, Raiden watched with a growing smirk, intrigued by the creativity displayed by the competitors.

This phase of the U.A. Festival was a dynamic test of teamwork, adaptability, and strategy. Students faced the challenge of balancing collaboration with competition while adhering to strict rules that limited the direct use of their Quirks.

The shrinking platforms and the looming threat of the water added layers of urgency, pushing teams to think quickly and creatively. The atmosphere was electric, filled with roaring cheers from the crowd as alliances were tested, rivalries ignited, and heroes-in-training proved their mettle in a chaotic but exhilarating battle royale.

After ten grueling minutes of combat, exhaustion was evident across the arena. Each platform now held just one remaining group. Unfortunately, the Naoka brothers had been eliminated, leaving Hana, Rei, and Yuyu as the sole representatives of Class 1-A. The remaining competitors hailed predominantly from the 1-B hero course, with a few from the general course and two from the support course.

"ladies and gentlemen, we have our competitors for the final round! give them a round of applause! they've pushed their limits and gone plus ultraaaaa!" Present Mic's booming voice filled the stadium, igniting another wave of cheers and applause from the crowd.

"now, our final competition—As is tradition—will be a tournament!" he continued, his voice brimming with excitement. "our students will face off in one-on-one duels, demonstrating their skills and abilities. in the end, we'll crown the victor of this year's sports festivaaaal!"

The announcement was met with thunderous applause and cheers, the stadium alive with energy as the audience celebrated the participants' efforts. When the applause finally subsided, Present Mic addressed the crowd once more.

"now, we'll take a break for lunch and rest! our students need to recover and prepare for what's to come. we'll be back in two hours!"

With that, the first and second segments of the Sports Festival came to an end. However, the hardest challenge still lay ahead. Raiden could feel the weight of it looming. A single glance at his classmates was enough to confirm it—every one of them was exceptionally strong, however, he had only one thought in mind

"I will win" exclaimed the boy to himself.

Hello guys, sorry for the delay, here is the chapter.

here I'm trying to cook something slowly; I hope you like it. I'm introducing and trying to add more depth to this original villain and his organization, last time it was a little rushed, so I hope this approach is better.

Additionally, I changed the contents of the Sports Festival. I didn't have the boys (Raiden, Mirio, Tamaki, Nejire) go to the second round because they are talented, and it would have been obvious that they could win and pass. Instead, I decided that the school made them skip the second round to give others an opportunity to shine.

leave some comments.

drop some power stones pleasee.
