Chapter 8: I understand it now
As I reached near the school gate, I saw a huge crowd of people with cameras and mics blocking students from going in.
I asked to be dropped off a little furthur than the commotion. As I made my way past the crowd, I could see the reporters jumping on Midoriya.
"Pftt, don't be so nervous. They are just reporters," I called out to Midoriya. He looked like he was going to melt from all the questions.
"Here, watch how a pro handles it." I moved forward, gaining attention from all the reporters.
I gave a pretty standard response to all the questions they asked. I had learned a thing or two from all the brain-rot content I had watched in my previous life. I could finally put my yapping session into action.
....
Class Representatives, lil bro Aizawa wanted us pick two people to handle the class. Everyone wanted to have a piece of that pie. I could even see a tiny hand raise from Mr. Angry Bird (Bakugo).
Everyone accepted a democratical vote system to elect the representatives. Before they could move along, I stood up and gave a new idea. "Let's change the voting system a lil bit. No one can place a vote for themselves. This is to prevent any biased votes. If everyone votes for the people they think are the best for the role, then we will reach a uniform conclusion."
They all nodded at my reasoning. We decided to go with my idea. And the results were….
1. Kuro Seji - 18 Votes
2. Momo Yayorozu - 2 Votes
3. Izuku Midoriya - 2 Votes
That's a huge difference. I did expect for myself to get the most votes, but this is funny. Practically everyone seemed to have given their vote to me. I voted for Momo, and Todoroki should have been the other vote. It seems like lida and Uraraka voted for Midoriya.
What surprised me is that Bakugo of all people voted for me.
I can't laugh yet; I have to hold it in.
Since Izuku and Momo tied for the Vice President spot, Aizawa let me decide whom to choose. My decision is pretty clear; I don't need to think about this. Of course, I would choose Momo; she fits perfectly in the role.
....
After that episode, we made our way to the canteen. I took some spicy fried chicken with rice and broccoli. I sat with Hagakure, Inasa and Momo. We were pretty much one group by now. I love being friends with everyone in the class, but they were a bit closer to me than the rest.
"Since your quirk is light refraction, you can use it to your advantage by affecting your opponent's vision. Similar to how frame rates work in game, you can create a delay or lag in your opponent's brain by delaying the image they see at the correct moment. Even a second of frame delay can turn the tide of a battle." She reacted to my suggestions like I had discovered fire.
I have been helping her train her quirk as best as I could. She can do a lot with her quirk now. She doesn't need to take off her clothes to become invisible. As long as she is touching an object, she can completely make it invisible. I gave her a quick background on basic self-defence and hand-to-hand combat too.
Those lessons were some of the best moments of my life. The way she acted all tough after she could "allegedly" land hits on me was adorable. I am the worst opponent she can fight off. Her invisibility doesn't help when it comes to me, so I had to come up with different strategies to help her.
Frame rate delay was one of them. If this one could work against me, then she will prove herself to be a great support hero on par with Aizawa.
An alarm pulled us out of our discussion. Students were starting to panic, running to the nearest exit.
As we made our way to the crowded corridor, I asked Momo to create me a megaphone.
"One, two… There is no need to panic; it's just the press outside. Turn your empty heads to the right and look out the window." A confident voice spread across the hallway.
Following the voice, everyone looked outside the window. It was indeed the press.
I could sense a small rat sneaking into the staff room. His life energy completely vanished in the next minute.
They must be in the move. I guess I will see them soon.
This little drama made my position stronger.
I am quite selfish for a so-called upright hero.
....
We changed into our hero costume and got on the bus heading towards USJ.
"Hey guys, I have a few tips on ways to improve everyone's quirk. If you want I can spell them out for you." I stood up and made a quick gesture to get everyone's attention.
I want them to get stronger for what's about to come. In case of anything unexpected happens, this is the least I can do for them.
Everyone got riled up by my suggestion. Aizawa didn't bother with our conversation; he took a nap, letting us be.
"Let's start with Kaminari here, I believe his quirk has one of the best potentials in our class. Since you don't have good control over your quirk, try starting by coursing the electricity from your fingers and conjuring it in your hands. This can act as a basic attack in your arsenal." I took a pause, looking at everyone's expressions. They all started coming at me to assess their quirks as well.
"Moving on, Mr. Angry Bird, aka Bakugo, has one of the strongest quirks in the world. If only his attitude was good too. It's a shame." Everyone started laughing at my antics. Kirishima had to hold Bakugo back from jumping. I outlined the key areas on how his quirk could be further enhanced and developed. He looked angry from the outside, but I could feel he was listening attentively.
....
As we reached our destination, I wrapped up my quirk improvement session with everyone.
USJ, we are finally here. A small figure wearing space suit could be seen waving at us.
The rescue hero thirteen. Her quirk is really broken. Black Hole, can suck anything pretty fast.
Very dangerous ~ ability.
All Might is not here, just like in the cannon. Some things can't be changed, I guess. Doesn't matter, as long as I am here; we won't need him too.
As Aizawa led us to the entrance, a portal started appearing on the stage. Numerous unidentified people started walking out of it.
It's finally time to meet the Final Boss.
