Minecraft: I Am The Demon King

Chapter 76: Chapter 76:-Thank You for Teaching Me the Art of Cruelty!

The players of the Eternal Guild, trapped in obsidian prisons, finally understood the true meaning of despair.

Yes, it was just a game. In theory, players could log out anytime.

But right now, they were stuck in combat mode. The system displayed nearby wandering monsters, preventing any log-outs.

Initially, many players praised the game's realistic mechanics.

Now, they cursed those very features.

"Damn it! What kind of crap mechanic is this? I can't log out!"

"Combat state? Do I look like I'm in combat? This is a hostage situation!"

"Hell, I miss non-immersive games. At least you could force-quit those…"

With no way to log off, their thoughts turned grim. They wanted to use flint or TNT from their inventories to end it all, but quickly found themselves thwarted. The obsidian prison was slowly rising, trapping their hands. Immobilized, they couldn't move a muscle.

Hunger wasn't a way out either. The game's hunger system only drained health to half a heart—never to zero.

Relying on others to rescue them? Impossible. PVP wasn't enabled yet, and the only option was for players to scale the platform with flint and TNT. But who would dare to go against HIM now? Even their own guildmates likely wouldn't risk it.

HIM's wrath had reduced them to this state—who would want that kind of fate?

The last option was to forcibly disconnect the device. Being a fully immersive game connected to neural pathways, this could cause minor brain damage—aptly nicknamed a "headache."

Desperation pushed some players to ask their friends in-game to yank their cables. But logging back in only returned them to the same prison. Their torment continued with every login attempt.

The Eternal Guild members had finally tasted true hopelessness. HIM had total control.

What stung most was the irony—this was supposed to be a game where players ruled, yet here they were, prisoners.

Feeling the crushing weight of their plight, they couldn't help but recall how they once trapped 007 using obsidian. Now, karma had flipped the script.

Xu Yuan had initially worried about keeping the players restrained. He feared they'd log off, ruining his intricate plans. But with combat restrictions in place, his job was easy.

After arriving at the obsidian platform, Xu Yuan summoned a clone and concealed it within nearby stones. This way, players couldn't escape by logging out.

Having secured everything, Xu Yuan approached 007.

"Can you let it go?" Xu Yuan asked, referring to 007's grudge against the Eternal Guild.

007 shook his head firmly. "Never."

Physical pain was tolerable, but the emotional scars from their cruelty were etched deep in his soul. He could never forget.

Xu Yuan nodded approvingly. Only by remembering such harsh lessons would 007 grow stronger.

"Let's go." With a single teleport, Xu Yuan whisked 007 and the skeletal horse away from the Eternal Guild's base. This place held too many painful memories. It was time to move on.

Once HIM departed, Peng Peng dared to approach the obsidian platform. Even knowing HIM wouldn't kill him, the oppressive aura left Peng Peng uneasy.

As darkness fell, Peng Peng got to work. Digging pits beneath the obsidian platform, he lured zombies into them.

"Now you really can't log off!" he chuckled to himself. Peng Peng's attention to detail was impressive. Even during the day, the zombies would remain in the pits, ensuring the Eternal Guild couldn't leave combat mode.

Unbeknownst to him, HIM's clone still lay hidden nearby, monitoring everything.

With that settled, Peng Peng used blocks to ascend the obsidian platform.

The Eternal Guild players, either in desperation or plain foolishness, begged him for help.

"Brother Peng! Save us! We'll forget the past!"

"Peng Peng! Just end it quickly! We'll even make you an honorary elder!"

"There's a stash of TNT in the guild chest! Grab some, or at least flint!"

Peng Peng couldn't believe it—players were actually asking him to kill them. He snickered.

"Me? You guys are the top guild members! I'm just a humble solo player—how could I dare?" he mocked. "I just noticed it's getting dark, so I brought torches to help you out!"

His words left them stunned before they erupted in furious curses.

"Torches?! That stops mobs from spawning!"

"Damn it! Are you HIM's lackey?!"

"You asshole!"

They had pinned their hopes on nighttime mobs killing them, unaware HIM had prepared for this. The hidden clone could control any spawning creatures. But Peng Peng's torch stunt crushed their remaining hope.

If possible, they'd reach through the screen and tear him apart. But all they could do was rage impotently.

After lighting up the entire platform, Peng Peng grinned.

"There! Much brighter, right?" he said cheerfully. "Thanks for teaching me…"

"The true meaning of cruelty!"

———

Peng Peng had vowed revenge for little BUG. Though he was just a regular player, he did everything in his power to help.

Unbeknownst to him, he played a critical role in the revenge plot. Without his persuasion, 007 might never have pretended to comply, leaving him subject to continued torment.

His forum post revealing the guild's coordinates expedited HIM's arrival.

Good deeds do bring rewards. In Peng Peng's case, it came in the form of the Eternal Guild's stockpile of gear and resources.

At first, he planned to keep some for himself and distribute the rest.

But fate had its own plans.
