Chapter 9: Unleashed
Megumi: Ijichi will take Nobara to the HQ. Now I just need to wait for Player to have Herobrine kill the Evoker and come back. Then we will have this place searched for the Totem.
Herobrine: Waiting for me?
Megumi looks behind as Player is standing behind him, his eyes turned white.
Herobrine: Don't worry, I'm in a good mood, I won't kill you straight away.
Megumi: What happened to Player?
Herobrine: Oh after I killed the Evoker and burned the Totem, he just didn't take back control. I guess it takes a little more time since I'm stronger than before.
Megumi: (So he burned that totem. That means he is at 15% strength.)
Herobrine: Well to make sure he doesn't take back control I have given myself a poison effect. He will keep losing health with time, but I'm also healing myself so I'll be fine. As soon as he takes over he will lose the ability to heal himself while constantly taking damage from the poison, killing him.
Megumi: What?
Herobrine: So as long as the brat doesn't want to die, he better let me enjoy. This is what he gets for using me.
Megumi: Wouldn't you also die if he died?
Herobrine: I don't care losing 15% of myself. It's better than being caged inside a useless brat. Meanwhile, it's better to enjoy freedom with the threat of taking his life.
Megumi: You don't get it. He is taking back control. He is just like that. He doesn't care if he dies, he will take back control.
Herobrine: You are giving him too much credit. Just now he was crying like a bitch, scared to die. He doesn't have it in him. He thinks he can give his life to save others but he is just a brat who wants to play this stupid game. He will be too scared to take control. Now then, let's kill you.
Megumi: I won't die just like that. If Player doesn't take control of you, I will kill you myself. (Back then I couldn't even fight that evoker. Will I be able to kill him? No, even then I still have to fight him. I will fight him with all my strength.)
Megumi spawns his phantom and rushes to attack him. He strikes him with his sword which Herobrine easily dodges. He grabs Megumi's hand and kicks him away. He also dodges Phantom's attacks easily. Megumi spawns an Elder Guardian which shoots a laser at Herobrine. The phantom also attacks Herobrine at the same time. Both of them continuously damage him.
Herobrine: So you can spawn mobs and have them attack for you.
Herobrine instantly rushed towards the Elder Guardian and stabs it with his diamond sword in the eye, killing it.
Megumi: ...
Herobrine: We are in open space. So let's use it.
He grabs Megumi from behind and throws him in the air. He then jumps and kicks him away, sending him crashing to the ground in a nearby village. He then appears again and throws him away crashing into a house. The phantom picks him up and tries to fly away but he kicks the phantom down as well.
Megumi: (So I really can't fight him huh? He is too damn strong. That too at 15% strength only. White wolf was killed by the Evoker and he killed the Elder Guardian. I should bring back the phantom before it gets killed too.)
Herobrine: You have so much potential. You use so many different mobs. But you're wasting it all. It wouldn't matter anyways. Nothing can save this world now. It's bound to be destroyed.
Megumi: In that case, I might have to use this.
Megumi takes out a deep turquoise-colored spawn egg.
Herobrine: Is that what I think it is? Bring it on Megumi!
Suddenly Megumi puts the egg away. Player's eyes turn back to normal as he finally takes control of his account.
Player: Sorry for causing all this trouble Megumi.
He collapses as he starts taking damage from the poison. Megumi picks him up and spawns the Phantom to carry him to the HQ.
Megumi: If we make it in time, Shoko might be able to cure the Poison and heal him. If we make it in time.
Megumi reaches the HQ and instantly takes him to Ijichi.
Ijichi: What happened?
Megumi: He was poisoned by Herorine. Take him to Shoko. She can heal him.
Ijichi: Don't worry. She is done with Nobara. I'll take him to her. I'm sure she can save him. She is our best Healer.
Ijichi takes Player to Shoko.
Shoko: Isn't he Herobrine's vessel?
Ijichi: Yes. Please save him.
While Shoko brings a bucket of milk, and some healing potions, Steve arrives.
Steve: Does he have time?
Shoko: I don't know. He should have died by now, I think it's a slow poison.
Steve: It was a planned execution.
Shoko: What?
Steve: I fought with the Higher-ups to have Player's execution postponed. Obviously, the higher-ups didn't care about the deal. They are scared of Herobrine. They had intel of the totem and yet they sent the 3 of them on the mission without informing them. The presence of the totem made the Mob stronger as well as increased the number of mobs there drastically. They always try to secretly dispose of those who they consider a threat ever since Alex. They sent Megumi to get the first totem to get revenge on me since I always go against their orders. They can't do anything to me obviously so they try to take it out on others I know. Megumi also uses mobs, so they also were scared of his potential. They had planned to have Player killed in this mission. I swear I will kill all the higher-ups.
Shoko: Don't get too emotional. You know how things always work here.
Steve: Yeah but it shouldn't. Things weren't always like this. Jujutsu Pros used to be a group of players having a good time together. Saving villagers and new players, hanging out together. It was supposed to be fun. That's what I've known it to be. But since the day I joined, I knew they are not what they used to be. Stuck up on rules and protocols. Too scared of things. They take all the fun away from Minecraft. It's why Alex turned too.
Shoko: So why are you still a member? Why haven't you killed the higher-ups already?
Steve: …Because it wouldn't have any meaning. I stay to train new players. To have them reform this group. I want to make this group what it used to be. Pro players who enjoy the game together. That's what I want to do. I don't want to resort to violence without any meaning.
Shoko: I have given him milk, and I healed him. But he doesn't seem to wake up. It also looked like the milk and potion had no effect on him.
Suddenly Player wakes up.
Steve: You're Alright?
Player: Yeah. I was just knocked out. Before collapsing, I just remember that Herobrine removed the poison effect from me. And then he knocked me out.
Shoko: Removed the poison?
Player: Yes.
Steve: He allowed you to live? Megumi said he didn't care about 15% of him. Looks like he did care after all.
Shoko: Or he might have some ulterior motives for it.
Steve: Could be.
Steve thinks for a moment.
Steve: Hey Shoko. Do me a favor. Declare Player dead.
Shoko: What?
Steve: If Player is left alive, the higher-ups would try other ways to have him killed. He won't be safe like this.
Shoko: So what will he do?
Steve: He will train with me, in hiding. I'm sorry. I told you you'd be playing the game with others and enjoy but things are going a different path than expected. Don't worry. You'd still enjoy the game with me. And we'd reveal your truth to everyone very soon. But for now, we need you to be capable enough to handle yourself in the future. I will train you for that. And when it is time, I will give you the best Minecraft experience.
Player: So does that mean my friends won't know either?
Steve: Sadly, yes. But it won't be for long. Don't worry. It'll keep your friends away from danger as well.
Player: In that case it's fine.
Shoko: Are you sure about this? What will you tell them when you reveal he's alive?
Steve: I'll tell them exactly why I did it. Will they have any problem with it?
Shoko: Fine. Just don't get me into trouble.
Steve: Don't worry. They can afford losing me. They can't afford losing you.
Shoko declares that Player died. Steve secretly hides Player in a secret base. The Jujutsu Pros higher-ups declare 15% of Herobrine dead.
Megumi: I can't believe he died. I was too late.
Nobara: He died himself. It was his fault. That idiot.
Megumi: I did warn him.
Nobara: First time you saw a player die?
Megumi: First time a newbie died.
Nobara: Well it's not like I knew him for long. But…
Suddenly 3 players approach them.
Maki: Hey Megumi!
Megumi: Maki?
Nobara: Who are they?
Megumi: They are technically our seniors. That's Maki, Inumaki and Panda. There is also another player named Jesse who joined with them but he is gone for a mission somewhere. He is the only one I respect among them.
Maki: I know you lost a friend. It is sad to hear whenever a player dies like that. I didn't know the guy, only that he was Herobrine's vessel. Still, doesn't mean he deserved it. But I've been sent to deliver a message to you guys. Sorry to cut your mourning short. But we need to start training.
Megumi: Training?
Maki: Yeah. For this year's Goodwill PvP Tournament.
Megumi: This early?
Nobara: What's that?
Somewhere in the server:
In a deserted village somewhere in a forest, 3 mobs are walking together. They are not usual mobs. One of them is a green-colored Iron Golem with a creeper head. Another is a big Evoker with an Elder Guardian head. The third is a snow golem but instead of snow, it's a blaze with a snow golem-like body and a pumpkin head.
Blaze-Golem: Is this the place where she said we would meet her?
Creeper-Golem: …
Blaze-Golem: Right. You don't talk. And you?
Guardian-Evoker: …
Blaze-Golem: Yeah, thought so.
Suddenly a girl appears in front of them.
Alex: Thanks for coming here. Let's begin our meeting.
