MMA System: I Will Be Pound For Pound Goat

Chapter 303: Podcast Shenanigans

As Damon worked his way through the system, he leaned back against the wall and smiled a little.

After giving it some thought, he decided to go ahead with the buy.

Taekwondo and kickboxing.

He knew this would be the last time he invested in new skills for a while.

There was no point in piling on more disciplines if he hadn't yet mastered what he already had.

Knowledge was powerful, but without practice, it was nothing more than potential left unrealized.

His mind filled with the new information, and a strange feeling of clarity and weight began to flow through him.

He was filled with techniques and strategies, all of which felt both familiar and strange, like he was remembering something he had never learned.

He exhaled, rolling his shoulders as the overwhelming rush began to subside. "This will do," he murmured to himself. "Until I've mastered them."

The thought of immediately jumping into something else crossed his mind, but he pushed it aside.

Discipline was what separated good fighters from great ones.

Adding more layers without fully understanding the foundation wouldn't take him to the top, it would only weigh him down.

Damon stood up, stretching his arms overhead. The simulated cage faded away, replaced once again by the dim glow of his bedroom.

His body felt no different, but his mind buzzed with the newfound techniques.

He glanced toward the window, where the first light of dawn began to creep in.

Training wouldn't wait, and neither would he.

If he was going to add these new skills to his arsenal, he had to put in the work to refine them, to make them his own.

Damon whispered to himself, "Let's see how far I can take this."

With that resolve, he stepped out of his room, ready to continue building the path to greatness.

Damon exhaled deeply, his body still buzzing from the realization of how selective he needed to be.

His potential was vast, and the system provided him opportunities to learn countless techniques, but he understood the importance of refining rather than overloading.

He couldn't afford to train every flashy or complex move.

Some were impractical for his style; others simply didn't fit the rhythm of his fights.

Damon had to be strategic, he couldn't train every move or technique.

His arsenal needed to be effective and tailored to his style.

Trying to master everything would only dilute his strengths. He needed precision and focus.

While he wanted to know everything, he knew he had to make sure not to overload his style with moves that weren't fitting.

"Alright," he said aloud, clenching and unclenching his fists. "Back to work."

With that thought in mind, he returned to the simulation, resetting the scene to refine his training.

The spinning thigh kick springboard idea still had potential, but it was clear it required more work before it could be considered a reliable weapon in his toolkit.

As he moved through the motions, his mind wandered briefly to his upcoming fight with Calvin Oland.

Damon couldn't use the system to break Oland down, yet.

He hadn't had a chance to watch the fight tapes Victor mentioned, leaving him somewhat in the dark about his opponent's tendencies and strategies.

For now, all he could do was trust in his training and sharpen every tool he already had.

He would probably get the tapes tomorrow.

While Damon was busy training, a video began trending across social media.

The screen showed a vibrant podcast studio, the setup sleek and professional.

On one side of the table sat Calvin Oland, his ever-present smirk firmly in place.

Across from him was the host, a lively figure who leaned into the mic, clearly enjoying the banter.

This was "The Cage Chronicles," a popular podcast where fighters, analysts, and personalities in the MMA world shared their takes, stories, and trash talk. And Calvin Oland was in his element.

The video was already gaining traction, and the clip that had everyone talking was where things took a turn.

Host:m said "Alright, alright, let's switch gears for a second. We gotta talk about Damon Cross."

Calvin's smirk widened, and he leaned back in his chair, folding his arms across his chest.

Calvin Oland "Oh, here we go. Damon Cross, huh? Yeah, let's talk about him."

Host: laughing "Come on, Calvin. You've been on Chirper non-stop throwing shade at the guy. What's the deal? Beef? Or you just bored?"

Calvin shrugged, his tone casual but dripping with sarcasm. "Man, it ain't even beef. To have beef, the other guy has to matter, and Damon… well, he's just not there yet."

The host raised an eyebrow, clearly loving the drama. "Not there yet? Bro, he's undefeated! You saying that don't matter?"

Calvin Oland "Look, man, I'm just saying, who's he fought? A bunch of dudes straight outta the regional circuit? Some guys who wouldn't even make it past prelims on a UFA card? Like, let's be real. Damon's highlight reel is basically a montage of charity cases."

The host leaned in, grinning. "Damn, you're coming in hot! So, what happens when you two step in the cage? You telling me he's got no shot?"

Calvin laughed, the sound loud and mocking. "A shot? Against me? Please. Damon's got a good left hook, I'll give him that. But once he gets in there with someone who actually knows what they're doing, someone like me, he's done. Cooked. Over. I'm gonna expose that dude so bad, people are gonna start calling him 'Damon Crawls' after I'm done."

The host burst out laughing, slapping the table. "Yo! 'Damon Crawls'? That's savage!"

Calvin grinned, clearly enjoying himself. "Look, I respect what he's done, kinda. But people gotta stop hyping him up like he's the next big thing. I'm here to remind everyone what a real fighter looks like. And when that cage door closes, it's lights out for Mr. Cross."

The clip cut there, but the damage was done.

Fans and fighters alike flooded the comments, taking sides:

@StanleyBroggs: Calvin talkin' big for someone with half the highlights Damon's got. Let's see if he can back it up! 👀

[Comment reply][@IanHan: Shut up Casual]

@Gpsantino: Damon Crawls? Bro, Oland's got bars. 😂🔥 Still rooting for Cross, though.

@Miansg_goat: "Not gonna lie, Calvin's got a point. Damon's good, but has he been truly tested? Guess we'll find out."

@PunchDrunkPanda: "Say what you want about Calvin, but the dude knows how to sell a fight. This is gonna be 🔥🔥🔥."

The buzz around the fight was at an all-time high, and whether Damon wanted to or not, he was now at the center of the MMA world's attention.
