Model Male Zerg of the Zerg Clan

52

**Chapter 52: Extra Story**

**Reunion Three Thousand Years Later**

Lu Xi’s shocked expression was very…

…interesting.

He had a striking and flamboyant appearance, but because he was somewhat introverted, he was always silent and expressionless. Those unfamiliar with him would mistakenly think he was a cold and aloof male zerg.

But that was all a facade. This male zerg, with his soft and kind heart, was actually easily frightened into revealing his true nature.

“You, you, you—how…?”

“Me?” Xia Baiyuan kindly finished his sentence, “How did I appear?”

Lu Xi couldn’t speak, so he nodded vigorously, “Yes, yes.”

It was midsummer, the hot weather filled with the buzzing of zergs. The zergs on the street wore short sleeves, their skin gleaming with a healthy glow in the sunlight.

Lu Xi was wearing a plush costume, and as he took off the headpiece, sweat was visible on his face. This didn’t make him look disheveled; instead, he resembled a freshly watered young cabbage, pure and refreshing.

“The system said I was supposed to die,” Xia Baiyuan said with a smile on his lips and a slight curve in his eyes. “In history, I died at that exact moment.”

The system.

Lu Xi’s mouth twitched, and he weakly lowered his head.

He had imagined countless reunion scenarios with Xia Baiyuan. In the nearly thousand days and nights since returning to the present, he had constantly thought about Xia Baiyuan.

He had kept the first tender leaf of spring, made it into a bookmark, and dreamed of sharing spring with Xia Baiyuan.

During festivals, he took pictures of grand celebrations, imagining sharing the sight of vibrant balloons and colorful streamers with Xia Baiyuan, witnessing the radiant smiles on people’s faces together.

In his heart, he wrote and rewrote countless times the words he would say when he finally saw Xia Baiyuan again, using up all his life’s words, only to scrap them and start over again and again, tirelessly polishing them over three years.

He thought he should wear grand attire, kiss Xia Baiyuan’s hand, and announce to the world under brilliant lights that this was his lifelong partner.

Instead, he met him while completing a school community service assignment!!! He ended up handing Xia Baiyuan an ugly balloon dog he made himself!!!

QAQ He didn’t even recognize Xia Baiyuan because of his limited view.

In novels, no matter how much the protagonist changes their appearance, their destined person can always recognize them precisely. But Lu Xi, just because of a different set of clothes, couldn’t see anything — even though he had marked Xia Baiyuan before.

He was mortified.

Instead of saying anything romantic or touching, all he wanted now was to put the bear head costume back on Xia Baiyuan.

Standing on the bustling street, Xia Baiyuan held the bear head costume by its ear with his fingertips, his blue-green eyes reflecting the sunlight like the color of the sky. “Lu Xi, I’m back,” he said.

His tone was light, as if he were just stating a mundane fact, but it made Lu Xi’s heart race. He covered his face, lowered his head, and blushed down to his ears.

“Don’t look at me like that…”

“Why?” Xia Baiyuan was genuinely surprised, tilting his head slightly in confusion. “Have I brought you some trouble?”

For Lu Xi, it was indeed a bit sudden.

But for Xia Baiyuan, he had been preparing for a long time.

After years of battle, he finally achieved his goal — laying the foundational structure of the zerg race. Amidst the grand cheers, the system’s soft voice sounded.

“Ding! Congratulations on achieving your goal. You can choose to go to the future immediately or after a month.”

Xia Baiyuan took a month to prepare. He announced his intention to retire and gradually faded from the zerg race’s view. Then he attended the wedding of female zerg Lu Xia and Luo Zhao — though it sounded strange, Xia Baiyuan didn’t feel any sense of discord at the time… despite their identical appearances, Xia Baiyuan would never mistake them.

Neither would Luo Zhao.

He was indeed a very peculiar male zerg. During the war, Xia Baiyuan received a lot of help from him. But it wasn’t until the wedding that Luo Zhao told him he had never mistaken his identity…

Attachment. Whether Xia Baiyuan knew it or not, he could see that Luo Zhao had a deep, indescribable affection for the female Lu Xi.

So, what kind of feelings did he have, staying by the side of the male Lu Xi all along?

Lastly, it was the farewell to the female father.

He vaguely mentioned something about Lu Xi, and time travel was hard to believe for the female father. His words were muddled, only saying that he could never return again.

Only the zerg god knows how he managed to say those words.

But unexpectedly, his dad didn’t say much, only smiled, touched his cheek, and said, “Ah Yuan, you are truly a lucky female.”

“Many females, even if they give everything, including their lives, for a male, mistakenly believe that is love.” His father said softly, “That might be a mixture of too many conditioned instincts, or perhaps it’s become commonplace, but it is not love.”

“To receive love in this life is already precious, and to love and be loved by that male is simply a miracle.”

A joyful smile appeared on his dad’s face: “So you don’t need to worry about me. I will have my own life, and you can focus on your own matters.”

As a female father, he unreservedly let go of his cherished and proud son.

Thinking of this, Xia Baiyuan blinked again and thought: he was indeed well-prepared, but Lu Xi had been waiting for him without knowing when he would return. Perhaps in the daily wait, Lu Xi had become more cautious, more serious, and had not anticipated that he would appear this way.

“Ah, I, I’m very sorry.”

While apologizing, Xia Baiyuan couldn’t help but look at Lu Xi. The red-eyed male buried his face in thick, furry bear paws. Under his black hair, his originally fair earlobes were so red they seemed about to drip blood.

He felt his apology was worthless because he really wanted to pull Lu Xi’s hands away to see his current expression.

In the next second, Lu Xi’s chest heaved violently. Almost through gritted teeth, he said, “If you keep this up, I will—”

“What?”

Lu Xi lowered his hands, his handsome face red, looking expressionlessly at the clueless, beautifully obedient silver-haired female, thinking: How can Xia Baiyuan be so cute?

Did he think he was shy?!!

No, he was at his breaking point.

No more holding back!!!

He grabbed the bear head costume from Xia Baiyuan’s hands, pressed his shoulder, and pulled him into his arms. In his surprised gaze, he quickly placed the big bear head over both of their heads.

“Lu Xi! Mmm—”

The sound was swallowed between their lips.

Xia Baiyuan’s hands hung stiffly at his sides, slightly tiptoeing from being held by Lu Xi, his whole body nestled into the large embrace into the plush bear costume.

Then he slowly raised his arms and wrapped them around Lu Xi’s neck.

On the bustling street, people were captivated by this peculiar scene—

A tall, elegant female dressed in retro attire, and an endearing mascot costume, sharing a tender kiss under the bear’s head.

After a long moment, Lu Xi finally released Xia Baiyuan, a smile forming in the hot, dark enclosure.

The emptiness in his heart was finally filled.

Across three thousand years, his star had finally fallen beside him.

He had so many things he wanted to share with Xia Baiyuan, so many words he wanted to say. They had a long time ahead to watch the sun rise and set, to witness the blossoming flowers.

Born amidst the flames, they had grown in love, and ultimately found their happiness.

This was the greatest fortune one could hope for.
