Mona's eternal world

Chapter 9: Void Creation

I took a step back, my mind racing as the demon stalked towards us, its eyes fixed on me. I had never faced a demon of this caliber before. But I had to find a way to defeat it before it brought down the town and everyone in it.Angelica was frozen with fear, her face turned white with terror. I couldn't blame her, the demon was a fearsome sight to behold. It towered above us, its massive frame blocking out the light of the sun.

I steeled myself, trying to keep my focus amidst the chaos. "Stay behind me," I told Angelica, my voice firm. "I'll deal with this beast. But you need to stay safe. Before I could object, Angelica turned and ran off, leaving me alone to face the demon. I took a deep breath, my heart pounding in my chest. I had to take down the demon, but how? It was so much larger and more powerful than anything I had ever faced before.

I sprinted towards the nearest blacksmith's workshop. The door was already open, and I darted inside, searching desperately for a weapon. Fortunately, there was an array of weapons neatly displayed on the walls.

I quickly scanned the weapons, and my eyes fell on a gleaming sword. Its blade was sharp and shining, and it had a hilt decorated with intricate carvings. I grabbed it, feeling a surge of confidence as I tested its weight in my hands. With the sword in hand, I stepped out of the workshop and turned to face the demon. It was still there, its eyes fixed on me, its massive claws flexing menacingly. The town was in chaos around us, with buildings crumbling and people screaming as they ran in terror.

I sprinted towards the demon, my sword raised and ready to strike. The demon roared in response, its eyes glowing with malevolence. As I dashed closer, I could feel its foul breath and the heat from its body, and I could hear the sound of its giant limbs smashing through buildings and crushing them to rubble.

I raised the sword and swung at the demon's head, aiming for its eye. The sword connected with a loud "clang!", the blade clashing against the demon's scaly hide. I could feel the force of impact reverberate through my arm, but the demon barely flinched.

I knew I needed to take a different approach. I changed my strategy, using my speed to my advantage. I darted around the demon, circling it and slashing at its exposed legs with quick, nimble strikes. The demon roared and twisted, trying to catch me, but I was too fast for it.

I attacked it relentlessly, striking at it with quick, agile strikes and evading its clumsy attempts to hit me. Slowly, I could see the demon's movements growing sluggish, its body becoming more and more damaged with each passing moment.

The demon let out a deafening roar and exhaled a blast of dark, fiery energy. I dodged it narrowly, the heat searing one of the hairs on my arm. I knew I had to be more careful, or the demon's power could easily overwhelm me. With renewed focus, I continued attacking the demon. I had already weakened it significantly, and I knew one final blow would finish it off. I summoned all my strength and lunged at it, my sword aimed at its throat. The blade sliced through the demon's tough skin, and it let out a guttural cry of pain.

I was surprised to see Kendo suddenly join the fight, her sword flashing as she dealt a rapid series of slashes to the demon. Despite being smaller and less powerful than the demon, she was surprisingly effective in combat. Her strikes were swift and precise, and I could see the demon struggling to keep up with her.

With Kendo's help, the demon was quickly overwhelmed. It roared and thrashed around, flailing its arms and legs as we attacked it from both sides. Kendo's sword flashed out in a flurry of slashes, slicing and cutting at the demon's body, while I struck at its legs, disabling its mobility. Finally, with a final, mighty effort, we delivered the last blow. The demon let out a deafening roar and collapsed to the ground, its body twitching and convulsing. It was finally defeated.

I looked at the fallen demon, my heart pounding with adrenaline. I was exhausted and bruised from the fight, but victorious. Kendo stepped next to me, panting and breathing heavily, her sword still clutched in her hand. After a moment of silence, Kendo spoke up, her voice firm but tinged with satisfaction.

"We did it. You fought well. I must admit, for a newbie, you're not half-bad."

I looked at her in surprise and disbelief. Was Kendo actually complimenting me? I wasn't sure how to respond, so I just nodded and let out a tired but satisfied sigh.

As we stood there, catching our breath, the full extent of the destruction became apparent. The once bustling town was in shambles, with buildings ruined and people injured or missing. The air was thick with smoke and ash, and the ground was littered with rubble and debris.

I shook my head in shock and despair. This was the aftermath of the battle, and the demon's rampage had left the town devastated. The residents were frightened and distraught, some crying and others desperately trying to find missing loved ones. I felt a pang of guilt and sadness as I surveyed the damage.

I quickly scanned the crowds, searching for the familiar face of Angelica. Finally, I spotted her sitting on a nearby bench, her knees pulled up to her chest and her face ghostly pale.

I rushed over to her, kneeling down next to the bench and taking her hand in mine.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt?"

Angelica shook her head, her eyes wide and tearful.

"No, I'm not hurt. But it was so scary," she said, her voice trembling. "I've never seen anything like it before. I just wanted to get away. I squeezed her hand reassuringly, my expression gentle.

"I know it was terrifying, but it's over now. You're safe. We defeated the monster, and I'm here with you

Angelica nodded, a sense of relief washing over her as her grip on my hand tightened. I could see that the trauma of the experience had left a deep impression on her, but at least she was unharmed.

My attention was suddenly drawn to the arrival of an army of samurai warriors. They were well-trained and disciplined, their movements fluid and practiced. They had come in response to the chaos and destruction caused by the demon's rampage. As the samurai took in the scene, I could see a mixture of concern and determination on their faces. It was clear that they had come to assess the damage and help restore order to the town.

The samurai leader, who appeared to be the commander of the army, stepped forward and approached me. His expression was stern and composed, but there was a flicker of surprise in his eyes when he saw the fallen demon lying motionless on the ground.

You two are the ones who defeated the demon?" he said, his voice commanding but not unfriendly.

I nodded, trying to put up a confident front despite my bruised and battered appearance. Kendo was standing next to me, seemingly nonchalant about the whole thing.

"Yes, that's right. We were the ones who took down the beast," I confirmed.

The samurai commander studied us for a moment, his eyes taking in our battered and bloodied appearance, and the demon's massive body lying motionless on the ground. He seemed to be sizing us up, trying to guess how we had managed to defeat such a formidable opponent. I must admit, I'm impressed," he said finally, his tone betraying a hint of admiration. "Taking down a demon of that caliber is no small feat, even for trained warriors.

I felt a surge of pride at the samurai commander's words. Kendo, on the other hand, remained impassive, her expression carefully neutral. It seemed she didn't care much for praise or recognition. Suddenly the commender offers us to meet Lord Orochi.

The commander's comment caught my attention. This Lord Orochi seemed to carry some authority, and he had sent the samurai to investigate the situation.

I looked at the commander, curious about what his intentions might be

"Lord Orochi wishes to see us?

The samurai commander nodded, his expression firm. "Yes, that's correct. His lordship wishes to speak with you both." He paused for a moment before continuing, adding a warning. "However, I must caution you against taking him lightly. Lord Orochi is not one to be trifled with.

I frowned slightly, feeling a ripple of unease. This Lord Orochi sounded quite powerful and formidable, and I knew I had to be cautious. I glanced at Kendo, noting her reaction to the samurai commander's words.

Kendo was, as usual, inscrutable and impassive, her expression betraying nothing. But I could sense a slight tension in her body, and I knew she was probably feeling the same wariness I was.

I turned back to the samurai commander and nodded, masking my anxiety with a confident expression.

"Very well. We will accompany you to meet with Lord Orochi," I replied, my voice steady and resolute. The samurai commander seemed pleased by our agreement, and he indicated for us to follow him. The rest of the samurai fell in behind us, forming a disciplined escort as we made our way towards Lord Orochi's fortress.

As we walked, I noticed that Kendo seemed to be deep in thought, her eyes fixed on the ground. I couldn't help but wonder what was going through her mind as we approached the unknown territory of Lord Orochi's domain. Soon, we reached the imposing fortress of Lord Orochi. It was massive and fortified, surrounded by high walls and armed guards. The samurai commander led us through the gates and into the fortress, where we were immediately greeted by a group of Lord Orochi's retainers.

The retainers led us to a large throne room, where we were finally brought before Lord Orochi. He was a tall and imposing figure, sitting on a raised dais. His expression was cold and imperious, and his eyes studied us with a penetrating gaze. I instinctively felt intimidated by his presence, but I fought to remain composed and confident. I had to remember that I was a skilled warrior and that I had already defeated a demon. I could handle whatever this Lord Orochi might throw my way.

Kendo, as usual, seemed unaffected by Lord Orochi's intimidating presence. She stood with her hands clasped in front of her, eyes fixed on the lord with a steady and resolute expression. I felt a flare of admiration for her unbothered attitude.

Lord Orochi remained silent for a moment, his eyes shifting from me to Kendo. Finally, he spoke, his voice gruff and commanding.

"So, you are the ones who defeated the demon, eh?

I swallowed hard, feeling a prickle of nerves. But I kept my voice steady and confident as I replied.

"Yes, that's correct. Kendo and I worked together to take down the demon."

Kendo nodded in agreement, her expression unchanged.

Lord Orochi grunted, a flicker of interest in his eyes. He seemed to be sizing us up, trying to gauge our fighting abilities.

"Impressive. Not many can say they've taken down a demon," he said grudgingly. "But your task is not yet finished.

I felt my heart skip a beat at Lord Orochi's words. A second sense of unease washed over me. What more could he possibly want from us.

"What do you mean?" I asked, my voice steady but laced with caution

Lord Orochi leaned forward in his throne, his expression intense.

"The demon you defeated was just one of many. My lands are plagued by these foul creatures, and I need someone with your skills to help me exterminate them."

I exchanged a glance with Kendo, uncertain of what to do. This sounded like a dangerous and likely deadly mission.

As I hesitated, Lord Orochi's voice grew impatient.

"Well? Do you accept or decline? I don't have time for hesitation. The demon threat is a continuous one, and there isn't room for weakness or cowardice."

Kendo's expression changed slightly, her jaw set in a determined line. She was clearly up for the challenge, regardless of the danger.

Lord Orochi nodded, satisfied with our affirmative response. But he wasn't finished yet.

"There is one more thing," he said, his eyes boring into us.

I felt a renewed sense of anxiety as I braced myself for his next words.

Lord Orochi continued, his voice firm and resolute.

"I require your absolute loyalty and allegiance. You will work for me and me alone, and you will obey my every order without question. No hesitations, no second thoughts. Your lives will belong to me from this moment on."

I felt a cold shiver run down my spine at Lord Orochi's words. This was a far heavier commitment than I had expected.

I exchanged a glance with Kendo. She was still unbothered, her expression unchanged. She seemed willing to accept Lord Orochi's demands without question. But I couldn't help but feel a little uneasy at the idea of giving myself completely over to him.

But ultimately, I knew that we had no choice. We had already accepted the task of defeating the demons, and Lord Orochi's terms were non-negotiable.

To my surprise, Kendo spoke up, her words slicing through the tense silence.

"We are honored by your offer, but we will not accept your terms," she said firmly. There was a hint of challenge in her voice, and her eyes locked with Lord Orochi's without flinching.

I stared at Kendo, my jaw almost dropping. Her refusal had caught me completely off guard. What was she doing?!

Lord Orochi's expression darkened, his eyes narrowing as his gaze settled on Kendo. I could tell he was taken aback by her defiance.

"You dare to defy me?" he growled, his voice low and dangerous. He seemed genuinely offended by Kendo's words.

Despite the danger in his tone, Kendo remained undeterred. She stood her ground, her expression resolute. "We are warriors, not slaves," she said firmly. "We do not submit or surrender easily.

I couldn't believe the boldness of Kendo's words. She was treading on dangerous ground, challenging Lord Orochi's authority like this. But a part of me couldn't help but admire her conviction and bravery.

Lord Orochi's expression darkened further, his anger clearly mounting. "You foolish girl," he growled, his tone filled with contempt.

Kendo stood firm, her eyes never leaving Lord Orochi's. Despite the intense tension in the room and the lord's obvious anger, she seemed unflinching.

A moment of silence passed before Lord Orochi spoke again, his voice dangerously quiet.

"You have no idea who you're dealing with, do you?"

As Lord Orochi began reaching for his sword, the atmosphere inside the throne room shifted dramatically. I could feel the tension like a palpable presence, and my heart rate began to pick up in anticipation. Kendo remained cool and composed, her gaze fixed on Lord Orochi.

In a flash, Lord Orochi's sword came slashing towards Kendo. My reflexes reacted instantly, and I quickly interposed myself between her and the blow. My sword clashed with Lord Orochi's, the force of the impact resonating through my arms. It was a struggle to withstand the power behind his strike, but I managed to brace myself against it, holding my ground.

Kendo watched on silently, her hand on the hilt of her own sword. The room seemed to hold its breath, waiting to see what would happen next.

You really got us in a pickle but I appreciate it,i feel pissed but happy she stand up for herself.

As the swords were locked in a tense standoff, I couldn't help but speak up.

"Lord Orochi, I understand your anger," I said, my voice steady and unwavering. "But there is no need for violence. Let us speak rationally and solve this matter without bloodshed."

Lord Orochi paused for a brief moment, his eyes still locked onto mine. I saw a flicker of thought behind his gaze, as if considering my words. But then his expression hardened once more, his jaw clenched.

"Enough talk," he growled through gritted teeth. "I've had enough of your defiance!

With a sharp intake of breath, I spoke, my voice calm and steady. "Alright, Lord Orochi," I began, my words measured and precise. "You want a fight? I'll give you one."

As I spoke, I could feel the weight of my words settling around me like a mantle of resolve. Kendo had already gotten into a fighting stance, her eyes sharp and focused as she prepared to join the fray. Lord Orochi, meanwhile, seemed to be taken aback by the sudden shift in tension.

The room was suddenly charged with anticipation.

The clash of swords echoed through the chamber as our weapons were locked in a fierce exchange. Lord Orochi was a skilled swordsman, his techniques powerful and precise.

But so was I. My training and determination propelled me forward, my sword meeting his strike for strike. I could feel the sweat running down my forehead, my muscles tensing with effort as I parried and countered his blows.

Kendo was right beside me, her own sword meeting Lord Orochi's with a fierce determination. The two of us fought together in a deadly dance, our swords weaving a deadly web around the Lord, trapping him in a deadly vortex of steel.

The air was thick with the clash of swords and the grunts of determination. Despite his fury, Lord Orochi was formidable, his swordsmanship almost overwhelming. But as the fight continued, it soon became clear that he was slowly losing ground under the relentless onslaught of our combined attacks.

Lord Orochi's attacks suddenly intensified, his sword flashing with deadly speed and precision. I struggled to keep up with the sheer ferocity of his assault, my arms trembling as I blocked his blows.

Kendo's expression remained steadfast, her sword a blur as she skillfully defended against his strikes. I felt a surge of admiration for her bravery and resilience.

For a moment, it seemed like we were on the cusp of defeat, Lord Orochi's power and rage nearly overwhelming us. But just as it seemed the fight was about to turn against us...

As Lord Orochi unleashed his ultimate technique, unleashing a thousand bloodmoon omni slashes, the sheer force of the attack was breathtaking. The chamber trembled as the sword strikes sliced through the air, leaving trails of dark energy in their wake.

I braced myself, my arms trembling as I attempted to deflect the onslaught. Kendo stood unfaltering by my side, the light in her eyes burning fiercely as she, too, sought to defend against the fearsome assault.

With a sharp snap of my fingers, I gathered my breath and called forth a powerful technique with a shout.

"Void creation!"

As the words left my mouth, a sudden surge of dark energy erupted around us, forming into a swirling vortex of shadow and darkness. The chamber shook as the void took shape, sucking in everything in its path.

Lord Orochi's eyes widened as the void consumed him, his ultimate technique instantly silenced. The sword slashes were absorbed into the void, leaving him momentarily disoriented.
