Chapter 14: I, the Geo Archon Morax with 2.1 Billion Mora, Have Joined a Chat Group [14]
The system's explanation was brief and to the point, as always.
Zhongli paid it no mind and was about to confirm entry when he noticed a flurry of activity in the chat group.
Telepath: The chat group system is actually giving out rewards?? This is the first time I've seen this happen.
Emilia Is Super Cute: Same here!
True Worth: I've been in this chat group for six months, and this is the first time I've encountered such a thing.
The chaotic nicknames in the chat group made Zhongli frown slightly.
While observing the messages, he took the opportunity to annotate each member's name with their true identity.
Shrine Maiden Reimu (Reimu): I want to go!! Need points!!! Must buy that ultra-premium eel bowl!!!
True Worth (Yukinoshita): I'd like to go too, but unfortunately, I don't have any combat ability. I'd rather not hold back the team.
Hestia-sama Is Supreme (Bell): Can I join? I already train daily in the dungeon back in my world, so going to another world should be fine.
Sister-Hater (Kyousuke): Unfortunately, I'm just an ordinary person.
Incurable Villain (Accelerator): Tch, guess I'll join in for some fun.
Telepath (Nana): I'd love to earn points, but my abilities are too weak. I'll cheer for you all instead.
Keeper of Contracts (Zhongli): Is it truly so rare for the system to issue mission rewards?
True Worth (Yukinoshita): In six months, this is my first time encountering it.
Zhongli quickly pieced things together.
After a brief moment of contemplation, he addressed the group.
Keeper of Contracts (Zhongli): If everyone is interested in this mission, we can go together.
With that, he clicked the confirmation button on the system's mission page.
As before, the transition was almost instantaneous. In less than a second, the coordinates of time and space around him shifted.
This time, however, he caught a faint glimpse of the trajectory of his passage through space-time.
"Could it be that the Honkai world is quite close to my own?"
He made this hypothesis silently, though he refrained from voicing the thought.
Before he could take in his surroundings, several figures materialized one after another in front of him.
Through their appearances, Zhongli gained further insight into the technology behind this cross-dimensional transportation.
Truly ingenious. I'm still missing a crucial component to replicate this with my own abilities.
With that thought, he carefully observed the individuals who had arrived with him.
One was a girl in a red-and-white shrine maiden outfit, her exposed underarms a striking feature. She wore an adorable hair accessory shaped like a yin-yang symbol. Clearly, this was Shrine Maiden Reimu.
Another was a young man in a checkered shirt with a fur-lined cloak draped over his shoulders. His pale hair and calm yet arrogant smile gave him an unmistakable air of confidence.
A third figure was dressed in a neatly pressed tailcoat, his hair slicked back meticulously. He appeared slightly nervous, his gaze darting around curiously.
The fourth was another white-haired figure clad in worn leather armor. He carried a short blade and a bow slung across his waist.
"Five individuals?"
When the final white-haired figure fully materialized, confirming that no one else was arriving, a crisp voice rang out beside Zhongli and the others.
"Yes, five," Zhongli replied calmly, turning toward the source of the voice. He glanced upward and saw a young woman standing on the second-floor rooftop of a dilapidated building.
No, not a woman—a girl.
She was clad in a navy blue coat, her features sharp and cold. With her arms crossed lightly, she exuded an air of quiet authority. Her long, ash-gray hair was tied back simply, cascading down her back.
"Shrine Maiden Reimu? Bell? Keeper of Contracts? Subaru Natsuki? And... Accelerator?"
Her voice and appearance stirred something within Zhongli, causing his pupils to contract slightly.
"It's me! It's me!" Reimu exclaimed energetically, raising her pale arm high. "I'm Reimu from Gensokyo!"
"Tch! So you're the Immortal Chiyuan?" sneered the white-haired boy with the arrogant smile. He lightly tapped the ground with his foot. "I can't stand it when someone's standing higher than me!"
Boom!
A deafening rumble erupted.
A massive crack spread outward from the white-haired boy's foot, rapidly spidering across the ground like a web, covering several hundred meters.
The crumbling building where the navy-coated girl had stood was caught within the crack's range.
Crash!
Like an avalanche, the structure collapsed into rubble, its stone and steel debris scattering across the ground.
The girl in the navy coat frowned, her expression unchanging as she leapt lightly from the wreckage, covering over ten meters in an instant. She landed gracefully in front of the white-haired boy.
Boom!
With a simple punch, the air around her fist erupted in a sharp sonic boom, the force rippling outward.
"Tch."
The white-haired boy snorted disdainfully, hands still tucked in his pockets as he tapped the ground again. He retreated several steps, deftly evading the clash.
"Wow!"
Bell, the seemingly modest and straightforward white-haired youth, couldn't help but exclaim as he watched the exchange. "Incredible! Both of you are amazing! This is like watching a Level 6 adventurer fight!"
"This…" Subaru Natsuki, dressed in a black tailcoat, was at a loss for words, his mouth hanging open. "You guys… this is…"
Zhongli, however, remained composed. He didn't spare a glance at the battle between Accelerator and Chiyuan but instead turned his gaze toward the distance.
"Immortal Chiyuan," he addressed the girl calmly. "What is the area and population of this Changkong City?"
Chiyuan retrieved her phone, opening a page that displayed a clear holographic map for all six to see.
"Changkong City spans 4,465.37 square kilometers. Three years ago, its population was approximately 855,746. After the Honkai disaster struck, fewer than one-tenth of them survived."
Her icy tone as she recited these grim statistics sent a chill through the group.
Subaru and Bell stood frozen, no longer paying attention to the people around them. Instead, their gazes turned toward the horizon.
All they could see were ruins—buildings reduced to rubble, devoid of any sign of life.
Broken roads, billowing black smoke, mangled vehicles, and the incessant wail of car alarms painted a bleak picture of a world on the brink of collapse.
"Damn it."
Accelerator cursed under his breath, his hands still in his pockets.
"Welcome to the world of Honkai," Chiyuan said coldly.
