Morax the Geo Archon: Billionaire in the Chat Group

Chapter 16: I, the Geo Archon Morax with 2.1 Billion Mora, Have Joined a Chat Group [16]

"Mei~~! Wait for me!"

A silver-haired girl ran through the sunlight.

She wore the standard school uniform of Changkong City, holding a dented metal bat in one hand and a pistol in the other.

Her delicate features carried a warmth and softness, but there was an undeniable hint of silliness in her expression.

"Kiana, stop."

The girl being pursued, Mei, also wore a school uniform—this one dark and accompanied by a short skirt. Her long, glossy hair was tied into a ponytail, swaying elegantly behind her. A katana hung at her waist, its sleek length adding to her composed and commanding aura.

Two vibrant figures, radiant under the sun, brought a splash of life to the desolate, ash-colored ruins around them. Their energy and movement were like blooming flowers in a bleak, gray world.

"What is it?" Kiana came to an abrupt stop, scanning the surroundings with nervous eyes. "Is it Dead Apostles? Honkai Beasts?"

"It's strange… but I can't sense any," Mei replied, her sharp gaze sweeping over the abandoned streets.

The places where Dead Apostles should have been lingering were eerily empty.

"Kiana, don't you think this feels… off?"

"What's off?" Kiana blinked cluelessly, looking at Mei with a blank expression. "Does it feel strange to you?"

"No, it's not just strange." Mei sighed, trying to prod her companion's brain into action. "Take a closer look. Don't you notice anything different around us?"

"Uh…" Kiana hesitated, her gaze flitting around. "Different… how?"

"Ugh!" Mei facepalmed, exhaling deeply. "As I thought, my expectations were too high. Look! There isn't a single Dead Apostle or Honkai Beast anywhere nearby. Isn't that unusual?"

"Huh? You're right!" Kiana gasped as realization struck her. "Do you think we've been killing so many that we've finally reduced their numbers? Or maybe they're scared of us now?"

Growing more convinced by her own theory, Kiana straightened her posture and puffed out her chest, patting it with pride. "Yep, that must be it!"

"Impossible." Mei shot the notion down without hesitation. "Dead Apostles are one thing, but Honkai Beasts? Those creatures prioritize destroying living beings over their own survival. There's no way they'd retreat just because we killed a few."

"Then what's going on?" Kiana asked, her head filled with question marks.

"I'm not sure, but—" Mei started to speak, only to be interrupted by a deafening explosion that shattered the silence.

Far off in the distance, a brilliant rainbow streak shot down from the sky, landing amidst the urban jungle.

The ground shuddered as a second explosion followed.

"Is it someone else? Government forces? That mech squad we saw last time?" Mei muttered in confusion, frozen in place.

"I don't know." Kiana nimbly flipped onto the roof of a three-story building, peering toward the source of the noise.

"Whoa!" she exclaimed.

"What is it?" Mei called up urgently. "Are you hurt?"

"No, no! There's someone over there! And there's a ton of Dead Apostles and Honkai Beasts too!" Kiana leapt back down, grabbing Mei by the shoulders. Her face was so close it almost pressed against Mei's. "Let's go meet up with them! Together, we can escape Changkong City!"

"Hm!" Mei, though excited, remained cautious. "Where are they? How long will it take to reach them?"

"Uh, they're on the other side of the city. At our usual pace… maybe a few days?" Kiana chuckled sheepishly.

Mei sighed heavily. "Forget it, then. It'll only take us a few days to escape Changkong City ourselves. Taking a detour now would be reckless. Let's leave it for another time—if fate allows."

"Yeah, I have a feeling we'll meet them again someday," Kiana declared confidently for no apparent reason.

"Good. Let's use the time they've bought to move forward. Our goal today is one more kilometer! Go, Kiana, go!"

"Wait for me! And be careful—we may not see many Dead Apostles now, but stay vigilant!"

[Untitled: The Miraculous Shrine Maiden Flying Through the Sky]

A crisp voice rang out.

Countless red and white projectiles filled the sky.

Thousands upon thousands of glowing orbs spread across the heavens, creating an overwhelming, inescapable rain of destruction.

Not a moment later, the orbs descended rapidly, blanketing the ground in an indiscriminate, saturating bombardment.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Explosions erupted in quick succession, drowning out all other sounds.

Even Accelerator, who had been conjuring high-temperature plasma beams while standing amidst a cluster of Dead Apostles, was overshadowed by the sheer force of the attack.

Fragile beginner-level Dead Apostles stood no chance.

They were obliterated almost instantly, wiped out in the combined onslaught of Accelerator and Reimu's coordinated devastation.

Even evolved Dead Apostles, those enhanced by Honkai energy, and the massive Honkai Beasts struggled to hold their ground under such relentless firepower.

"Activate! [Noble Phantasm: Yin-Yang Divine Orbs!]"

Reimu's clear voice resounded through the air as the yin-yang orbs orbiting her began to expand rapidly.

In less than a second, they reached nearly a hundred meters in diameter.

"Points! All mine!"

The seemingly pure shrine maiden's exclamation was tinged with an almost maniacal glee as the enormous yin-yang orb plummeted to the ground.

Boom!

A deep, resonant explosion reverberated outward.

A massive shockwave radiated from the orb's impact, sending debris flying and filling the air with dense dust.

It was as if a comet had struck the earth. The entire city of Changkong trembled, and every Dead Apostle and Honkai Beast caught within the orb's radius—regardless of strength—was crushed to pulp.

"Points! Points! Hahaha!"

As Reimu clapped her hands joyfully in midair, a shadow suddenly appeared beside her.

A strange Dead Apostle hovered silently, its hand glowing with Honkai energy as it lunged toward her.

I let my guard down.

Her heart clenched as the red-and-white shrine maiden realized her mistake.

But before she could react, a plasma beam from the ground pierced through the Dead Apostle, disintegrating it in an instant.

"Huh?" Reimu blinked, then scratched her head awkwardly. Looking toward Accelerator on the ground, she called out, "Thanks for that."

"Tch."

His reply was, of course, a trademark tsundere scoff.
