Chapter 29: MCSDB Chapter 24 Mysterious Expert Part 2
With Jiang Chen leading the way, they didn't have to worry about their location since he had already familiarised himself with it earlier.
Half an hour later, they reached the exit.
By the time they arrived, a considerable number of people had gathered at the exit.
Although the scale of the dimensional invasion had been enormous and unexpected, thanks to Jiang Chen's actions, things had settled down quickly. A large number of survivors from the Eastern District were still alive.
However, the survivors had to stay for registration, as the base city would usually offer some compensation.
By the time Jiang Chen and the others appeared, the line was already quite long.
Naturally, they went to the back of the line.
An hour later, it was their turn.
The three of them first passed through a massive Light Gate. It was said that this gate was used to check if someone was from the main world.
Naturally, Jiang Chen and the others had no problems with this.
They quickly arrived at a side area for registration.
The registration process was simple. All they had to do was enter their name, gender, and home address.
They quickly filled in the form.
However, just as they finished, there was a sudden commotion from the light gate.
"Boom!"
A loud sound echoed, and the next moment, a figure was sent flying out.
Jiang Chen raised an eyebrow in surprise. The figure that had been flung out was a Sand Ninja.
"Looks like someone managed to sneak in."
He muttered to himself with a strange look crossing his face.
He had considered the possibility that Shinobi could use transformation techniques to infiltrate, making it easy for them to blend in. It was only when the Light Gate appeared that he had relaxed.
But he hadn't expected anyone to be caught so soon.
The crowd stirred briefly but quickly calmed down.
After exchanging glances, the three of them left the area.
At the crossroads, Lin Haitian spoke up.
"Xiao Chen, thank you so much for this."
He opened his mouth, then straightened up and spoke with sincere gratitude.
He knew very well that without Jiang Chen's help, he would probably have been left behind.
Even though Jiang Chen's primary goal was to save his father, Lin Haitian was truly saved by him.
"No need to be polite, Uncle Lin." Jiang Chen smiled and shook his head.
"This isn't about politeness." Lin Haitian shook his head solemnly and then said goodbye to Jiang Chen and Jiang Huaqing.
After saying goodbye to Lin Haitian, father and son walked home in silence.
They were both a little quiet. Jiang Huaqing opened his mouth several times, but he didn't know what to say.
After a moment, Jiang Huaqing couldn't hold back any longer and spoke in a low voice.
"Xiao Chen, have you completed your main mission?"
His voice was a bit worried and uncertain.
"No."
Jiang Chen shook his head.
"It's okay, don't worry. You'll definitely complete it. And even if you don't manage to finish it, it's no big deal..." Jiang Huaqing spoke up quickly.
"No, No! You'll definitely be able to finish it."
Halfway through his words, he suddenly felt that something was wrong and spoke quickly again.
"Don't worry, Dad, I'm confident I can complete the first stage of the main mission."
Seeing his father's unease, Jiang Chen smiled. He understood his father's feelings. As a big step for someone trying to break through, it was hard to stay calm, especially for a family like theirs that was not well off.
So, after a moment's thought, he gave a reassuring reply.
The first stage of his main mission was to survive the destruction of Planet Vegeta.
With the preparations he had made, there shouldn't be any problems.
"That's good, that's good!"
"Hahaha."
Hearing Jiang Chen's confident words, Jiang Huaqing's eyes brightened and he spoke with excitement.
If Jiang Chen could complete the first main mission, it meant that he would definitely be able to enter the Academy. How could he not be happy with such a result?
In an instant, all the tension and anxiety seemed to disappear from his mind.
Jiang Chen smiled.
Looking at his still-young father, he felt an inexplicable sense of peace.
Half an hour later.
The two arrived home.
When his mother saw his father, the fear and worry she had felt earlier disappeared completely.
Her face couldn't help but show joy.
She even looked around to see if anything was wrong.
"Dad, Mum, I'm going to school now."
Seeing the loving scene between them, Jiang Chen called out.
"Okay, be careful on the road."
His mother simply said without turning her head.
Jiang Chen smiled and shook his head.
He didn't hesitate and quickly left to catch the bus to school.
When the Dimensions arrived, all students were supposed to go to school immediately.
He was already a little late.
He had to hurry.
One hour later.
Jiang Chen arrived at school.
When he reached his class, Jiang Chen raised an eyebrow.
The entire class had already gathered.
"Jiang Chen, why are you only here now?"
"Did you know that a dimension descended? This is a crucial moment."
A student frowned and spoke, his gaze looking somewhat displeased as he looked at Jiang Chen, his peripheral vision accidentally landing on Liǔ Qīngxiá.
"Mind your own business!" Jiang Chen naturally noticed and said coldly.
"What did you say?"
The boy who had just spoken turned pale with anger, his eyes burning with rage.
He stepped forward and blocked Jiang Chen's path.
"Mind your own business, you dog chasing a rat."
"Can't you understand human words? Shall I say it again?"
"Get the hell out of the way."
Jiang Chen snorted coldly.
"You!"
The boy tried to speak again. But in the next moment, he felt his body become lighter.
Then a pain shot through his abdomen.
"Bang!"
A faint sound rang out, and his body immediately buckled in pain.
Jiang Chen didn't even look at him. He simply walked around him and went to his seat.
The scene immediately caused a stir in the classroom.
Liǔ Qīngxiá's face turned somewhat grim, while Lin Shiyun looked on in surprise.
Many others had a gleaming look in their eyes.
"Heh, that idiot thought by stepping on you, Liǔ Qīngxiá would care about him."
"Now he's in for it."
Yue Yang spoke in a gloating tone.
"By the way, which world did you log into? That idiot's physique isn't weak, it's a solid 7 points."
After the taunt, Yue Yang became slightly suspicious.
Jiang Chen's move just now was clearly not ordinary— he hadn't had that level of strength before. It made him curious about which world Jiang Chen had logged into.
"Physique isn't the same as strength."
"How's it looking?"
"Any news from the school?"
Jiang Chen casually spoke, then curiously inquired.
As for what had just happened, it was just a casual action for him. The strength of this body wasn't impressive at all, even weaker than that boy's. But with the months of training he'd received from Bardock, as long as the opponent wasn't too strong, dealing with them was simple.
"I'm not sure. The information's been slow this time. Teacher Luo hasn't even shown up yet."
Yue Yang frowned as he spoke, and the topic quickly shifted elsewhere.
