Chapter 17: Chapter 17: The Magic Seed

Roah curiously asked, "Aren't you afraid, Master Roxy?"

Roxy narrowed her bright eyes and made a slightly indifferent expression as she replied, "What's there to fear? If you had really wanted to do something to me, you could have done it long ago."

Indeed, as she said, they had shared a room and slept together for two years, and Roxy had always been completely unguarded. If Roah had wanted to do something, he could have easily done it already.

Roah scratched his head and asked, "But what if this magic spell was something I only recently developed? After all, this is a magic designed to control people."

Roxy fell silent, her face suddenly flushing. Then, with a mix of embarrassment and anger, she knocked on Roah's head, this time with significant force.

Roah dodged her strike. Due to the momentum, her hand brushed against his chest. Taking the opportunity, Roah grabbed her slender wrist, his bright golden eyes meeting hers.

Her reflection was clearly visible in his golden irises.

Roah, dropping his usual playful tone, spoke seriously, "There is indeed a side effect, as I mentioned before. But since you're my master, I have modified it to remove the dangerous part. Though its power is reduced, it's a gift from me to you."

Roxy's gaze turned complicated as she looked at Roah. She hadn't expected him to create something like this. This kind of magic could undoubtedly stir a storm if it were to become public knowledge.

Roah placed the magic seed in Roxy's hand. As soon as it made contact, it transformed into black threads that rapidly wrapped around her.

The black threads coiled around her slender arm like vines, crawling up and covering her entire body in mere moments.

Roah raised an eyebrow. The reaction was far more intense than he had anticipated.

Roxy, meanwhile, felt an unfamiliar power coursing through her body. This magic wasn't gentle. It was wild and invasive, tearing through her as it sought to alter her natural magic flow.

The intense pain caused her to clutch at her arm as her face turned pale. A sharp cry escaped her lips, the agony overwhelming her.

Roah frowned deeply, clearly unprepared for this level of reaction.

Her trembling form and tear-streaked face made his heart sink. He quickly realized that the rogue magic was wreaking havoc in her body, lacking direction and control. It was his fault for not refining the spell properly.

"I'm in so much pain, Roah," Roxy whimpered, gripping his hand tightly. Seeing her like this, Roah made a decision.

Magic can flow through physical contact. Without a second thought, Roah leaned forward and pressed his lips against hers.

Roxy's lips were soft and warm, but Roah had no time to focus on that. Using the point of contact, he guided the chaotic magic within her body, calming it down and reshaping its flow.

The wild, black magic began to settle under his influence. Gently, he moved his hands to her back, guiding the energy with every touch, until it became a stable force enhancing her.

The pain faded, replaced by a comforting warmth that coursed through Roxy. Her flushed face grew even redder, and an involuntary sigh escaped her lips as the warmth enveloped her.

Her reaction startled Roah. His golden eyes darted toward the door as if expecting someone to burst in, even though he'd already sealed the room with magic to prevent sound from escaping.

Once Roxy's condition stabilized, Roah quickly pulled back. Though her lips had been unexpectedly pleasant, he knew this wasn't the time for such thoughts.

Roxy, still catching her breath, looked utterly drained yet oddly glowing. Her shirt was soaked through with sweat, clinging to her petite frame.

Roah averted his eyes, his face turning slightly red. He tapped her cheek lightly, a mix of concern and awkwardness in his actions.

Her soft skin felt even better than he'd imagined.

Realizing his behavior might be inappropriate, he quickly withdrew his hand, muttering to himself about how things had escalated beyond his control.

Several minutes later, Roxy finally recovered. She looked disoriented, her mind clouded with confusion.

Who am I? Where am I? What just happened?

She instinctively tested her magic, and to her surprise, it had doubled in strength. She clenched her fists, overwhelmed by the sudden surge of power. Looking at Roah, who now sat innocently on a chair with a book in hand, she didn't know what to say.

Her new strength was undoubtedly a blessing, but the way she'd obtained it left her feeling complicated. She couldn't help but touch her lips, recalling what had happened.

It was her first kiss, wasn't it?

She turned away, embarrassed, and mumbled, "I'm going to take a bath."

Without waiting for his response, she hurried out of the room, leaving Roah alone.

As soon as she was gone, Roah exhaled a long breath, his tense shoulders relaxing. He had genuinely feared she might demand an explanation. The entire situation had been a mess, and it was his fault.

Shaking his head, he decided to check on the other world's version of himself.

What he saw made his eyes widen in disbelief.

In the world of Sword Art Online, a handsome blond teenager with striking golden eyes, resembling an older and more confident version of himself, was walking hand-in-hand with a young Asuna.

The blond boy had a warm, radiant smile, exuding charisma. Asuna, holding a stick of candied fruit, seemed delighted, chatting happily with him.

Roah clenched his fists.

"How is he already this far ahead?"
