My Daddy Hides His Power

Chapter 219

I swallowed hard as I watched Leon walking away.

I ended up getting separated from Leon.

 However,

‘It’s okay. It’s actually better this way, right?’

Was it sorry for hitting me in the head in an unexpected situation?

Fortunately, fate created a slightly more favorable situation for me.

‘By moving away to save others, there will be no one around Leon. At most, it’ll just be Kyle.’

What if, in trying to save Leon, I end up drawing the attention of several people?

What if it’s a situation where even a slight hint of suspicion might arise?

‘I would have to manipulate everyone’s memories!

Considering the life force it would take, I felt truly relieved.

If it came to the point of manipulating the memories of ability users, it would indeed be the ‘worst’ scenario I had anticipated.

“Let’s not do this and just get out of here quickly!”

 I took Jem’s hand.

And then… I recalled the blue tassel-shaped ornament dangling from the hilt of Leon’s sword as he left.

‘Fortunately, it was still hanging on well.’

 “Brother, I made this!”

“Oh, really? You made it yourself?”

“I made it while praying that you wouldn’t get hurt this time and that you would come back safely!”

The ornament I had given to Leon as a gift before his expedition.

“Pft! Your brother won’t get hurt! I’ll come back alive and well, so don’t worry, little kid!”

“You must not die! You have to come back alive, no matter what!”

I have learned quite a few things over the past 7 years of using Primera’s power.

Leon may never know, but actually, that ornament was…

A device that allows me to use my life in the most efficient way possible?

“Let’s run away quickly! You too, Commander! Don’t just stand there in a daze; hurry up!”

I let Leon go and quickly began to run away, leading the bewildered Sir Alfredo.

 * * *

The warhorse cut through the canyon.

And, the demonic beasts that follow them.

The enraged Gleptors, furious at the death of their cubs, were closing in on their target at an incredible speed.

 Whoosh—!

On horseback, Leon swung his sword and unleashed sword energy toward the canyon floor.

 Kikiiiek—!

The crawling Gleptor baby let out a small cry and died helplessly.

‘At this rate, they will come after me now.’

Even while he was running away, he was killing any cubs he could see. He intended to make himself a target.

 “I, I’m sorry…”

Leon glanced at Kyle, who was trembling and muttering in his arms.

 Kyle Ludendorff…

He knows who this kid is.

 Lilith’s half-brother.

‘Phew, what could be your crime?’

 Leon sighed.

At that moment, he felt the Gleptors following closely from behind.

Leon glanced back and was puzzled.

‘But why are there so few?’

There were about 30 that followed at first.

Now that they had run away, dealing with each time the sword energy gathered, there were only three left.

‘All of them must have gathered from four battlefields, but there were only 30 of them?

As he thought, Kyle squirmed in his arms.

Is he trying to do something?

 Boom—!

He persistently leaned out beside Leon, who held the reins, and sent a burst of blue flames.

 ‘Wow, this guy…’

He was proud of how desperately he tried to be helpful.

 Leon looked behind him.

The flames exploded among the charging Gleptors.

 ‘T, that’s strong. Really strong. It’s powerful, but…’

 Gleptors dodge at high speed.

‘He’s not able to cast any of them.’

 Tsk.

Unfortunately, not a single effective hit was made.

His abilities were impressive, but his lack of practical experience showed; he was the typical inexperienced child soldier.

 “Hey, hey!”

 “Yes!”

He didn’t even know how to efficiently allocate his mana, so he just kept throwing out A-Class attack magic.

At this point, even DOS would run out of mana in no time.

“Don’t do anything useless, save your mana!”

Leon, who asked, turned his upper body with difficulty and swung his sword once.

 Slash—!

As the sharp blade severed the legs of the Gleptor that was closely following, its massive body tumbled and crashed to the ground.

 Now there are two left.

 ―Gaaaagh!

A Gleptor, closely trailing behind, bared its jaws and tried to bite Leon’s shoulder.

 “Ugh!”

 “Whoa!”

 He narrowly avoided it.

“S, shield! I’m going to die like this, so put up a shield! You know how to use an A-class floating shield, right?!”

 “….”

At Leon’s urgent request, Kyle looked up at him and merely moved his lips.

 “You…”

Leon realized something when he saw Kyle’s embarrassed expression.

“…You’ve focused all your effort on attack.”

 Yeah, it can happen.

 Class A Shield.

It’s not something just anyone can cast. Memorizing the magic formula alone takes several months.

He is a young child who has never gone to war before.

‘Still, he should have done some practical training for about a month. Looks like he only memorized offensive magic formulas and prepared just for that.’

It seemed like he had not yet mastered the high-level defensive magic formula.

 “Wow, wait!”

 At that time,

 Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.

“Wait, wait, wait! Mercy, please! I haven’t finished gathering the sword energy yet!”

One of the Gleptors seemed to accelerate and started running alongside Leon’s horse.

 ‘I’m done.’

Leon, who instinctively sensed what kind of attack would come next, let go of the reins and hugged Kyle tightly.

As expected, the Gleptor swung its tail like a blunt weapon.

 “Keugh!”

Leon, holding Kyle, was struck in the back and was thrown through the air.

They were thrown onto the rocky floor of the rugged canyon, rolling several times. Even during this, Leon clung tightly to Kyle, protecting him with all his strength.

 “Keugh… f*ck…”

It hurt terribly. The pain was so intense that it made him feel faint.

Nevertheless, Leon quickly checked Kyle’s condition.

 “Hey! Are you okay?”

 “Yes, yes… Haa, haa.”

Fortunately, aside from some small scratches on his face, he seemed fine.

Leon, relieved, gritted his teeth and stood up. And then he started running in the opposite direction, leaving Kyle behind.

 “Stay there! Don’t follow me!”

 There are two Gleptors left.

On the way, because he constantly killed the young Gleptors, the Gleptors targeted Leon instead of Kyle.

 Slash―!

Because of the sword, one of them was torn apart.

But the other one was the problem.

Glepter, who noticed that there was a gap in the attack with his sword energy, swung its tail without missing the opportunity.

 “Keugh!”

Leon flew helplessly and landed on the canyon wall.

 ‘Damn.. it…’

The moment he collided with the solid rock wall.

 Leon felt it.

 It was a fatal blow.

It felt like every bone in his body was broken.

The condition of the abdomen, which had been properly hit by the Gleptor’s tail, was also strange.

He didn’t know for sure, but a few internal organs were probably ruptured.

 “Keugh, ugh…”

He was crying and blood was pouring out of my mouth.

 ―Gaaaah!

The demonic beast didn’t give any opportunity. He saw a Gleptor that came close and opened its mouth wide.

 “Please! Just die already!”

Leon mustered his last remaining strength and plunged his sword into it.

 Sssrk—!

The raised sword pierced the Gleptor’s head. However, this was after dozens of teeth bit into Leon’s arm.

 “Aaaahhh!!!”

 Terrible pain.

As the dead Gleptor fell, Leon let go of his sword and pulled out his arm.

There was no feeling in his right arm, which was half cut and covered in blood.

 “Haa, haa, ugh…”

 His vision became blurry.

As his vision seemed to disappear at any moment, he saw Kyle, who was trembling, running towards him.

 “A, ah…”

Kyle, who didn’t know what to do when he saw Leon’s devastated state, quickly sat down next to him.

Then he hurriedly grabbed Leon’s right arm, which looked serious.

 Kyle shivered sickly.

At this moment, he seemed to have a strong compulsion to do something.

 “….”

The faint mana beginning to seep from the wound on his right arm.

The thing that showed no signs of improvement was probably a Class E healing spell.

 “You…”

 “Ugh, argh…”

“D, ugh, did you really just focus on offense…?”

 “I’m sorry. I’m really sorry…”

 “No, it’s okay…”

 Leon laughed weakly.

 “I’m sorry, I couldn’t, I couldn’t do anything. I’m really sorry, heuk, sorry…”

“No… it’s really okay. You didn’t have much time… Memorizing offensive magic formulas is impressive… If you knew how to do everything by yourself… well, would you need to split the squad and, ugh, work?”

 “Heuk. Heukh…”

“I also found memorizing magic formulas… so hard and frustrating… so I picked up the sword instead…”

Speaking with difficulty, Leon barely moved his eyes to look around.

As he ran away, he had already reached the end of the canyon.

Very far away, a small private house could be seen.

‘It makes no sense to say that this is all there is to Gleptor. I’m sure there will be more to come.’

Leon clenched his teeth and, using his remaining working left arm, pulled open his collar.

With a clink, two tags broke off.

“Hey, you know… do you see that village over there?”

 “Y, yes!”

Kyle wiped his nose and nodded vigorously.

“Probably, the others also fled that way. You should also, as quickly as possible… run. Escape…”

 “Yes?”

 “Hurry…”

Leon said that and handed Kyle the two tags he was holding in his hands.

[Magic Swordsman 83-17003528 Leon Antrase] These tags were used to identify bodies on the battlefield.

 However,

‘Anyway, if the Gleptor comes, I’ll be eaten without leaving even a corpse.’

In that case, Leon thought he should at least leave some trace for his loved ones.

“Hey, this… one of them, give it to Theo… my twin…”

Even though he was in pain, Leon felt like he was going to cry.

“I made it while praying that you wouldn’t get hurt this time and that you would come back safely!”

“You must not die! You have to come back alive, no matter what!”

 “The other one…”

 What should I do, Lilith?

It seems like your Brother won’t be able to keep that promise.

“Please… give this to my sister, Lilith…”
