My Daddy Hides His Power

Chapter 225

Oscar held back his laughter and looked back at Leon.

“Yes, hmph, I understand how you feel.”

 “Thank you!”

“But she’s not here right now.”

 “…Yes.”

“Rosaline Veronica left Wizard Tower two days ago…”

 “Versace, Master!”

“Yes, Rosaline Versace left the Wizard Tower two days ago. She went to the Kingdom of Isolem. She’s a child with great ambition for learning, so I sent her to see and experience more.”

 “Yes?”

 Leon’s eyes widened.

Oscar shook his head, pretending to be sorry.

“It’s a journey with no end in sight.”

 “W, what do you mean…”

“She even mentioned that you’d come looking for her and asked me to pass on the message. She said that if fate allows, you two will meet again someday.”

 “…”

 Tuk.

The bouquet fell from Leon’s hand.

Oscar sighed deeply and grabbed the shocked Leon with his own hands to help him up.

“Hey, you brat. You’re a man, so why are you kneeling down everywhere like this?”

His soothing voice was uncharacteristically affectionate. It seemed that he felt sorry for Leon.

“But… but she’ll come back eventually, won’t she?”

 Leon was persistent.

 “Of course. But you know.”

Oscar grabbed his shoulder and said.

 “She has a boyfriend.”

 * * *

 “Broootheeer.”

 “….”

 I’m crazy.

 I really am crazy.

I should’ve customized it as a burly, muscular guy!

Why did I choose a beautiful character!

I even saved Leon’s life, and now I feel guilty even though I don’t have to!

 “Brotheeer!”

 “….”

Oscar gave me early leave to comfort the shocked Leon, so I ended up following him to my aunt’s place.

Leon got out of the carriage and walked unsteadily.

“That sister is really awful. I don’t know why you liked her, but she was mean and full of herself. I’m so glad she’s no longer at the Tower…”

 “Hey!”

I was following behind and swearing at Rosaline diligently when I was startled by Leon turning around and yelling.

 “Why, why…?”

“Don’t curse! I know what you’re thinking!”

Leon pouted his lips and quickly turned around again.

“She’s my benefactor, so don’t badmouth her. Even if you don’t go this far, I’ll sort out my feelings on my own.”

 Wow! This is crazy!

Leon, who had been walking a few more steps, suddenly stopped and looked down at the bouquet in his hand for a moment.

 Tuk.

The bouquet of roses, no, Leon’s first love, was thrown away in vain.

 “No! This is a waste!”

 I quickly picked it up.

“If you like it, take it.”

“Phew, brother. Since we’ve already left early, why don’t we go for a little fresh air nearby? We can eat something tasty and lift your spirits. Huh?”

 “That’s enough.”

 Leon trudged into the house.

As soon as we walked in, I saw two familiar and welcome faces sitting on the living room sofa.

 “Huh? Lilith is here too?”

 Theo and,

 “Oh my, Lilith!”

It was Erica I hadn’t seen in a long time.

 * * *

 Erica Valerin, 19 years old.

 Her specialty is unrequited love.

 Her type? Bad boys.

At 9 years old, she fell head over heels for Leon Antrace, her training institute peer, and for the past 10 years, she’s been chasing after him.

And today, Erica came to put an end to her unrequited love.

 “Let’s get married, us.”

Silence fell over the table where the four were sitting.

Theo let out a deep sigh, while Lilith stood there in shock, her mouth wide open. The only one who seemed completely unfazed by the proposal was Leon, who sat slumped, showing no emotion.

“I’ve waited for you all this time and haven’t seen anyone else. I turned down every marriage proposal that came my way, and even at this age, I’ve never held another man’s hand.”

 “….”

“My parents are worried. They’re urging me to meet someone quickly because I’m old enough to get married. Now, we have to tie the knot between us.”

 “….”

 “Leon Antrase. Let’s get married.”

Whether Leon could hear Erica’s words or not was unclear.

Leon’s gaze, still unable to recover from the shock of his trampled first love, weakly groped the air.

“You, I know you don’t care about me. But isn’t that the same for all women?”

 “….”

“I was ready to give up if you fell for someone else, but since that hasn’t happened so far, I honestly don’t think much will change in the future. Am I right?”

 “….”

“Let’s get to know each other better after we get married and become close. You won’t regret it. I’ll be good to you.”

 “Hey.”

Only then did Leon look at Erica.

“Who said that? I don’t like anyone.”

 “…What?”

 “Who said that?”

Leon, who was talking, burst into tears. Everyone was surprised to see him unable to continue.

 “B, brother! Don’t cry! You shouldn’t cry!”

“Kheuph.”

Lilith hurriedly hugged Leon, trying to comfort him. His large frame nestled in his tiny sister’s arms, and he wore a face that looked as if he might cry at any moment.

 Leon’s reaction was real…

It wasn’t a lie to reject the proposal, it was real.

Erica was shocked to see that.

“You… met a woman without me knowing?”

 “I want to meet her!”

 Leon suddenly stood up.

“Who are you to tell me whether or not I should date someone? My head’s already a mess, and now what? Marriage? Who, me? Me, with you? Are you insane?!”

 “Leon Antrase!!!”

Erica followed Leon, shouting and not giving up.

“You, you… How could you do this to me!”

“Enough already, just stop! This is really driving me crazy! Even if I don’t have someone I like, I will never marry you! So stop bothering me!”

Leon, who was holding his breath as if he was trying not to cry, roughly untied the cravat that was suffocating his neck and threw it onto the table.

 “Please just find someone else!!!”

And then he stomped up the stairs.

 “Brotheeer!”

Lilith followed in shock, trailing behind him.

 Erica, who was left behind…

 She collapsed in despair.

 “E, Erica.”

 What should I do?

Theo tightly closed his eyes.

 Theo Antrase.

For 10 years,  he had been comforting Erica, the childhood friend who constantly followed his twin brother around, worried she might get hurt.

Erica usually didn’t care about Leon’s blunt attitude, but.

This time, she would be shocked.

 “I, uh, uhh….”

 “Erica?”

 Erica turned around, snickering.

She was now sobbing uncontrollably. Her carefully applied makeup had smudged, with black tears streaming down her face.

“Don’t cry. Why are you crying when you have such pretty makeup on?”

Theo sighed deeply and wiped Erica’s tears with his own hands.

“I, huh? I’ve, I’ve liked him for, for years, and how, how could he do this to me?!”

 “Phew.”

Theo hugged and patted Erica, who was sobbing. Erica cried in his arms for a long time.

Today, this marked the end of the first love for the two.

It was a cruel spring day…

 * * *

 “Ah, I’m dying of laughter.”

After Leon caused a commotion and left.

After laughing for a while, Oscar finally composed himself and sank down into his seat.

 “…”

For some reason, the smile slowly disappeared from his face.

 “…One month left? Really?”

It didn’t feel real. He thought there was at least half a year left.

 The day everything would end.

 That day.

 “This is crazy…”

It was the day Oscar decided to leave alone.

‘I’m not even mentally prepared yet. One month is too much.’

He tilted his head back and stared blankly into space. A heavy hand covered his eyes, and his exposed lips twisted in pain.

The price given to those who cast the magic of regression.

It was the extinction of existence.

Everyone who knew him couldn’t recognize himself as Oscar Manuel.

 One word, or one action…

The moment someone reads ‘Oscar Manuel’ from him due to a minor mistake, the prohibition will claim his life.

Therefore, to avoid death, he had to escape from everyone who knew him.

 ‘Still…’

 It’s a relief that it’s not death.

It wouldn’t be so bad just watching the child from a distance.

 ―That’s what he thought.

‘Humans are so treacherous. They’re beasts who never know satisfaction.’

 Oscar gave a wry smile.

 One day he was greedy.

It doesn’t matter if my real name is forgotten…

I want to see my child directly, speak, and know my existence.

It’s too painful and miserable to just watch.

―It was the reason Oscar was trying to leave far away.

In order to live and meet the child again, he had to abandon the existence of Oscar Manuel.

 Tone, action, habits, memory…

It was a task that could only be achieved by completely erasing the time spent as ‘Oscar Manuel’ and approaching life as a completely new person.

Even if it wasn’t the child, no one among the many people who knew him could sense even the slightest trace of his former self.

Because the moment his existence is recognized, everything will turn to bubbles.

 ‘It won’t be easy.’

He had lived for a considerable amount of time, including his past life.

It would not be possible to erase all traces that might remind others of ‘Oscar Manuel,’ accumulated over time, in just a day or two.

 So, he will leave…

He had intended to return as someone else, who could meet, speak, and laugh with her again as if nothing had changed.

 ‘A month.’

Despite the separation he had clearly anticipated.

Once the hourglass was turned and started running, his heart felt troubled.

“No, it’s actually for the better, well.”

 Oscar forced a weak smile.

“It’s good to finish the business quickly, right? Now there’s only happiness to be happy without any worry. ”

“Master, let’s go to some nice places as we promised, eat lots of delicious food, and create many, many memories…”

It is cruel to leave memories to the child under the existence of Oscar Manuel, which will disappear anyway.

The child will suffer from taking out the memories of life.

 So although he’s feeling sorry.

It was better not to leave behind unnecessary memories.

 ‘One month…’

Oscar slumped over the desk, letting out a sigh.

Although it was a day he had to come for the child and had eagerly awaited.

Nevertheless, he hopes it will not come forever.

 —With such contradictory thoughts.
