My Favorite Has Started A Live Broadcast!

Chapter 40 - Not a Student, But Still Got Dragged Into This

I wanted to say something in my defense, but the man’s relentless shouting and the chaotic situation made my head spin, nearly to the point of bursting. Every time I opened my mouth, a sharp pain throbbed in my throat.

“Hurry up! Which class are you in?”

“I… I… uh…”

“Hm…?”

The man suddenly stopped yelling and stared intently at the P.E. uniform I was trying to remove.

“… Follow me.”

“Pardon…?”

Without another word, he dragged me to the teacher’s office. My weak resistance didn’t have any effect on our route to the office.

Inside the bustling teacher’s office, where many teachers were preparing lessons or working on their own tasks, a P.E. teacher was there, along with a woman with long, white hair cascading to her waist. Her eyes, a rare deep red, were brimming with tears, and her shoulders flinched in short intervals as if on the verge of crying. Although the teachers might have thought the P.E. teacher was just doing his job, the moment Su-yeon appeared, the office became tense.

“Um… P.E. teacher, who is this…?”

“This brat’s a real piece of work. Late on the first day, dyed hair, odd eyes, and that’s not even his uniform.”

“… May I have your name?”

“Sniff… I… I’m Lee Su-yeon…”

“…”

The teacher who asked for my name hurried back to her desk and began sifting through a large pile of files.

“Oh… could you be… Minyoung’s guardian?”

Whether by luck or misfortune, Su-yeon had never shown up at school before. The only time she came was for the entrance ceremony when he gave her sister an excessively large bouquet of flowers and quickly left to work. To Minyoung, who had moved to Seoul, Su-yeon acted as her guardian, given that their parents lived far away.

I’d been busy, too. I hadn’t been able to attend open classes due to work, and the parental consultations were either handled by my parents or wrapped up with a brief phone call.

“… I apologize…”

The P.E. teacher bowed deeply in apology, and I wiped my eyes, waving my hand dismissively.

“What brings you here today?”

There’s rarely a good reason for a parent to come to school. In dramas or movies, if something happens, parents storm into school, causing all kinds of scenes: cursing, threats, insisting ‘My child wouldn’t do that.’ What happens on screen does occur in reality. The atmosphere in the office was tense, and everyone seemed on edge.

I wasn’t just any parent who got shouted at, treated like a student, dragged into the office, and pushed to the brink of tears. Even for an ordinary parent, this would have been an unacceptable situation, but Su-yeon’s surreal appearance seemed to make it even more dramatic.

“Uh… right… I brought this for my sister…”

Su-yeon pulled a neatly folded pair of P.E. pants out of her bag, and when she finally took off the P.E. jacket, everyone realized why she was at school and why this whole ordeal had happened.

After profuse apologies from the teachers, especially the P.E. teacher, I was finally free to leave.

“Class 2… Group 2… Hm?”

Once the commotion settled, Strawberry poked her head out from inside my clothes, looking around the room.

“Meow?”

“This is a school. You have to be quiet.”

“Meow~”

Seemingly understanding, Strawberry slipped back inside my clothes as I wandered around the school, searching for Class 2, Group 2.

Lee Minyoung POV

Though the introductions were over and the homeroom teacher had left some time ago, first period hadn’t started. The teacher hadn’t arrived, and the classroom was growing increasingly rowdy. Minyoung frowned as the noise intensified around her, instinctively pushing away anyone who tried to approach.

“Hey…?”

While staring endlessly at the clock on the wall, someone tapped her shoulder, calling her name.

“…?”

She turned around, narrowing her eyes even further.

“…You…”

“Um… hi?”

It was the annoying part-timer who worked at the same café as her sister.

“What are you doing here…”

– “Wow, who’s this?!”

– “Is this for real…”

– “No idea! I heard he got caught by the P.E. teacher at the school gate today?”

– “Is she a new student? Or a transfer?”

Their roaring chatter drowned out what I was about to say.

“…Is someone coming?”

“Ugh… So, why are you here?”

“Huh? Well… because I’m a student here?”

“…Ha…”

– “Hey, hey, hey, look over there!”

“Ugh… it’s so noisy…”

Curious about what everyone was staring at, I lowered my head, covering my ears.

Even with my ears covered, the loud voices and constant murmurs still seeped through. I could hear the sound of a door opening.

The class fell silent.

“…?”

Sensing something strange, I uncovered my ears and raised my head.

***
Lee Suyeon POV

I walked past Class 3, then Class 4, before turning the corner and finally spotting Class 2. As I passed each classroom, loud voices echoed down the hall, suggesting that the teachers were making their classes entertaining. Standing outside Class 2, I stood on tiptoes, peeking through the window to look for my sister.

“There she is… huh?”

Sure enough, my sister was in the corner of the room, but she looked uncomfortable. The noisy class, and the male student talking to her, seemed to contain all the elements my sister disliked. Seeing no teacher in the room, I quietly opened the back door.

“Huh…?”

The class went oddly silent as I walked over to my sister, feeling somewhat awkward.

“…”

Sensing something amiss, my sister lifted her head, meeting my eyes.

“…Unnie?”

I handed her the P.E. uniform piece by piece and greeted her.

“Hey there… um… I’ll be going now.”

“Oh… okay…”

“Hm? You’re here? Be nice to my sister.”

I waved at Si-ha, who looked stunned, then quickly exited the classroom. The teacher was probably arriving soon, and I didn’t want to cause a scene or disrupt the class.

Su-yeon had no idea that this encounter would make Minyoung the center of the entire school’s attention.

With the P.E. uniform successfully delivered to my sister, I returned home after a series of mishaps. I put Strawberry, who had been squirming in my clothes, down on the floor, then lay on the bed, analyzing the ceiling pattern.

I was bored. Normally, I would either be working or watching Chocoa’s streams, but I’d watched all of her recent streams, and there wasn’t anything else to do. Lying on the bed, I rolled around like a plant soaking up sunlight.

“Purr… purr…”

Strawberry seemed to enjoy the warm sunlight, making cute noises as she slept on the floor. I lifted her onto the bed, and we basked in the sunlight together for a few minutes.

“Purr…”

Matching Strawberry’s breathing, I took slow, deep breaths and felt my eyes slowly close.

“Hmm…”

After a sweet nap, I opened my eyes. The sun was still high in the sky, perfect weather for doing laundry.

Well, might as well get to it.

I covered Strawberry, still purring, with a blanket, then gathered up the laundry that had accumulated around the house and at my sister’s place, stuffing everything into the washing machine.

Once I got the washer going, I started cleaning the house.

With the furniture finally settled, the place was starting to feel familiar. The large apartment was significantly bigger than my previous basement room, and it took me around fifteen minutes to clean it all.

“Hmm~”

After finishing the housework, I sat on the bed, kicking my legs idly.

I was bored.

“Hm…”

‘Baraa has started a live broadcast!’

– “I’m bored.”

= “Hello.”

Despite it being a Monday afternoon, quite a crowd quickly gathered for Baraa’s stream, even with only two days of preparation.

Today, she seemed to be dealing with a sore throat, typing out her greetings on a notepad and displaying the usual spinning mouse icon on screen.

– “Hello.”

– “Hi, Baraa.”

– “(Blue octopus emoji swaying back and forth) (Blue octopus emoji swaying back and forth) (Blue octopus emoji swaying back and forth) (Blue octopus emoji swaying back and forth)”

= “What’s ‘Hi, Baraa?’”

– “Hi, Baraa!”

Just as Chocoa often received her own unique greetings from viewers, Baraa seemed curious, watching the ‘Hi, Baraa’ comments with a twirling mouse.

Aroalo – Saha (means “Hi, Boss”).

= “I’m not the boss, I’m broke.”

– “LOL”

= “Isn’t Aro at school?”

Aroalo – …

– “He’s a ghost…”

“…Hm?”

The broadcast suddenly included sounds other than the keyboard. A soothing, husky voice singing, Baraa’s curious voice adding to the mix. The singing stopped, and Baraa’s hoarse voice resumed.

“Hello…?”

Just as I was deciding which game to play, a call came in from Eunah unnie.

– “Hey, it’s me…”

She sounded like she had something on her mind.

“What’s up…?”

– “Um… could you make me a manager, too…?”

“…What?”

– “I’ll send the username later…”

“Oh

… sure, I guess.”

– “Okay? Thanks…”

– “Oh, and…”

Click.

“…?”

The voice on the other end of the phone was oddly familiar. When the call abruptly ended, I tried calling back a few times, but each attempt was rejected.

“…Maybe I imagined it?”

It was probably just me getting overly excited. Thinking about it rationally, there was no way it could be true. Eunah unnie was likely at school, unable to answer calls once her professor arrived. The voice was probably just similar, or maybe I misheard…

It couldn’t be that Chocoa and Eunah unnie attended the same school.

Calming my racing heart, I booted up a game.

Today, I was in the mood for a rhythm game.
