My Life in Multiverse

Alex and Yuno reached the center and saw a crowd of people there to take the exam like them.

While everyone was waiting, a flock of birds started pecking at the candidates in the coliseum.

"Haih! Started to get nervous already." A guy sighed and said.

"Hey wh-? What the hell are these things?" Another guy said as he tried to scare away the birds.

"The infamous anti-bird of the exam venue." A third one informed.

"Really these things?"

"The weaker your magical powers, the more these guys flock to you."

"Heh, really?... Hey, look at that guy! None of the birds are going to him." The second guy pointed at someone.

The trio looked at the person.

It's none other than Yuno. With his high magical powers, not a single bird was around him.

"It's the guy from earlier." The first one recognized Yuno and said.

"From earlier?" The second guy asked with a puzzled expression.

"He's from some remote village, Hage, yet got the four-leaf grimoire!" The first one said.

"What?... A four-leaf?"

"Seriously man!"

Everyone looked at Yuno with admiration, especially some girls.

As Alex didn't want this type of reaction, he stood at the side and let the birds flock over his head and yet he could not help but receive the provocative gazes from the females and jealous ones from the males.

As for the birds, rather than hurting him, they just sat down on his head and hands calmly.

Alex couldn't help but chuckle when he saw this. 'It seems these little fellows can feel my domineering aura and are submitting to me.'

He even felt a little bird sneaking inside his shirt during this time but didn't prevent it.

'Secre Swallowtail! So, you finally came to me because of this grimoire.'

"Hey look there. Hahaha..."

"What the hell is that?!"

"Even though he's a peasant, isn't this too much?"

"Haha, yeah. You're right."

"...N-No. There is something wrong." Suddenly, someone exclaimed.

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"Look! These... these birds aren't pecking him but... but..."

At this moment, Alex raised his head and caressed a little bird sitting on his palm.

Everyone was dumbfounded by this scene.

'He is... he's treating them like a pet!'

Suddenly, there was a commotion in the crowd. It seemed they saw something.

Alex turned his head slightly and saw two people entering the venue. He recognized both of them.

"H-Hey... Isn't that..."

"Is that the great Finral Roulacase? The user of rare spatial magic?"

"Hey, you're cute." Finral saw a cute woman in the crowd and started flirting with her.

"Womanizer!"

"The rumors are true then."

"He's famous for being crazy for girls so much that it gets in the way of his duties! And that's... Gordon Agrippa! The expert on hex magic!"

"I heard that he's impossible to talk to... and also scary."

Alex sighed as they all misunderstood the fellow as he only had a small voice.

A person approached Alex out of nowhere. He raised his head and looked at that person.

"Oh, I'm Sekke. Sekke Bronzazza. Nice to meet you. Bah-ah!" Sekke said as he thought. 'If I can beat him, then my place in Golden Dawn is fixed and all the pretty girls will come to me. Whaha...'

"Likewise. I'm Asta." Alex greeted him back.

*Boom!* *Boom!*

Suddenly, some firecrackers lit up in the sky signaling the start of the exams.

And with that, all of the captains stepped into the venue and took their seats.

Alex raised his head and stared at a man sitting on the first floor.

The man was a tall man with a very muscular build. He has grey eyes and black hair of medium length that is messily combed backward. His attire was very simple only a white A-shirt and black trousers. But his aura was anything but calm, completely wild like a ferocious beast.

Yami took a puff from his cigarette as he stared at Alex. His mouth moved a little as he said in a very low voice.

"You bastard!"

Alex smiled as he understood what's he saying and showed his middle finger in response.

Yami chuckled as he remembered his encounter with Alex, tracing a small wound on his cheek.

3 Years Ago

Yami went to play cards like always where he met a masked guy who beat him up in the card game and on all the money.

When he tried to sense the masked guy's strength, he was surprised that not only he couldn't see through his strength, but he couldn't even sense his presence.

He tried to find him after the game but Alex had already left the town.

After a few months, during a mission, he again stumbled upon the masked guy in the forest. As Yami had lost the game again, the winner asked him to do a job for him.

"We meet again, huh." Alex was grilling a boar over the fire. He felt the presence of someone and raised his head. Seeing Yami, he greeted him.

"What are you doing here?" Yami sat down in front of him and asked.

Alex passed some prepared food over to Yami and replied. "Training myself while hunting for wild beasts."

Yami didn't feel any malicious intention from him and accepted the food. While eating, his eyes landed on the sword around the masked guy's waist. "Hmm, you have a nice sword kid."

"Thank you,"

"How about a little spar?" Normally, Yami would never do something like that but the masked man really made him curious. He wanted to know about his secrets.

How could Alex not see through his thoughts? He smiled behind his mask and acted like thinking about something deeply before nodding his head after a minute. He also wanted to experience the strength of one of the strongest captains.

After eating and resting for a few minutes, they stood facing each other a hundred meters apart.

"Don't worry kid. I'll not be going to use my magic against you. Come at me with everything you got." Yami said as he took out his katana.

Asta nodded his head and took a fighting stance.

'Hmm, the kid seems to have rich fighting experience.' Yami thought.

Alex's figure blurred as he appeared in front of Yami in a second.

'He's fast!' Yami thought as he easily blocked his attack. 'Also have good strength. But he loses!'

Yami deflected him back and slashed his sword at him.

Asta split into two and dissipated.

'What the...' Yami was unable to hide his surprise but he didn't have time to think as he turned around and countered a flying slash coming toward him.

Yami's figure also blurred and only the sound of sword clashing could be heard.

*Clang!* *Clang!* Clang!* *Clang!*

'This kid is good. Way better than many I met before!' Yami smiled and retreated a few steps, saying loudly. "Kid, now I'm going to finish it. Try to take my this move."
