My Love, My Whole Life

Chapter 17: Chapter 17 Meeting Parents, Discussing Marriage Matters 3_1

Gu Yu sat in the car, watching, wide-eyed, as his dad and Tang Yuran chatted animatedly. Finally, he couldn't hold back any longer and blurted out, "Dad, are we ever going home?"

"Going, going, we're going right now!" Gu Yu's dad quickly gave a smile to his son, then turned to Tang Yuran and asked, "Little girl, would you like to sit with Gu Yu in the back?"

"Sure." Tang Yuran nodded and swiftly climbed into the car.

After fastening the seatbelts for the two kids, Gu Yu's dad started the car and drove towards their home.

All the way there, Gu Yu's dad kept up a merry conversation with Tang Yuran, while Gu Yu wore a speechless expression as he stared out the car window.

The drive lasted only about fifteen minutes before they arrived at Gu Yu's house.

Gu Yu's dad got out of the car, opened the back door for the two kids, helped them unbuckle their seatbelts, and then said with a grin, "Come on out, we're home."

Full of curiosity, Tang Yuran followed Gu Yu out of the car, looked up at the house in front of them, then scanned the surrounding area, and couldn't help but express her bewilderment, "Hey, isn't that my house right there?"

"Your house?" Gu Yu's dad walked over to Tang Yuran, full of surprise.

"Yeah, look at that building over there, the window with the pink curtains—that's my room," Tang Yuran said, stretching out her little hand to point at a window in the nearby building and explaining to Gu Yu's dad.

"What a coincidence, we live so close," laughed Gu Yu's dad on - the spot.

"Hehe, so can I go to school with Gu Yu every day from now on??" Tang Yuran asked, looking hopefully up at Gu Yu's dad.

"Sure, sure, of course, you can," Gu Yu's dad laughed heartily.

"..."

Gu Yu felt he really didn't want to be in the same space with these two anymore. When they made decisions, did they even plan to ask for his opinion?

"Old Gu, why are you standing at the door without coming in?" Just then, the door behind them suddenly opened, and Gu Yu's mom poked her head out, calling to the father and son standing outside, "What are you talking about??"

"Hehe." Gu Yu's dad gave his wife a chuckle, then stepped aside to reveal Tang Yuran, who he'd been blocking, and said, "Wife, look, we've got a little guest at our house today."

"Oh??" Gu Yu's mom was taken aback, her gaze fell on Tang Yuran in the pink princess dress, hesitated for two seconds, and then asked, "This couldn't be your illegitimate daughter, could it??"

"..." Gu Yu's dad tugged at the corner of his mouth, couldn't help but give Gu Yu's mom a look and said, "What nonsense, she's Gu Yu's classmate, oh no, I mean, Gu Yu's wife."

"Gu Yu's wife!?" Gu Yu's mom suddenly lit up, scampered over to Tang Yuran, crouched down, and held Tang Yuran's shoulders, exclaiming, "Let me look at you, oh wow, what a beautiful little girl, with such round and big eyes, truly adorable. Gu Yu, you did well, just two days at school and you've brought home a wife already!"

Gu Yu's mom paused, then continued with a joyful face, "See, Old Gu, why worry about Xiaoyu not having friends? The kid has already got a wife, what more does he need?"
