Chapter 4: Chapter 4 I Want to Offer Myself to You 4_1
"Why??" Tang Yuran tilted her head curiously and asked, "Don't you like playing games?"
"I don't like them," Gu Yu continued to draw on the paper, replying casually.
"Even if you don't like playing games, you could still go outside and bask in the sun," Tang Yuran decisively walked over to Gu Yu, grabbed his sleeve, and said crisply, "Getting more sunlight is good for your health. My mom says that it helps with the synthesis of vitamin D and the absorption of calcium, which is beneficial for growing taller!"
As her little hand tugged on Gu Yu's sleeve, the line he was drawing went completely askew.
"..."
Gu Yu looked up with a speechless expression and glared at Tang Yuran, "Why are you so naggy?"
"I…" Tang Yuran was about to say something more when Teacher Zhang's voice suddenly rang above their heads, "Tang Yuran has a point, Gu Yu, it's boring to sit alone in the classroom. Why don't you go to the playground and enjoy the sun, and watch the other children play?"
After a moment of silence, Gu Yu finally set down his brush and slowly followed Teacher Zhang and Tang Yuran out of the classroom.
The sunlight outside was just right, and a gentle breeze carrying the scent of grass blew over, warm and comforting.
Gu Yu sat on the steps by the small playground, propping his chin with his little hands boredly, watching his classmates line up in two rows, warming up by running around the track.
Tang Yuran, being shorter, was at the very front of the line, her round little face glowing with a healthy, light blush from the running.
"Come on, kids! One more lap and we'll reach the pirate's island, one-two-one, one-two-one!" The PE teacher shouted encouragingly while running behind them.
The bunch of children immediately got a burst of energy and started running faster.
Boring!
Gu Yu glanced at his classmates who were running and stood up, walking back towards the classroom along the edge of the playground.
A mix of chaotic footsteps and children's laughter came from behind, followed by both the PE teacher and the nursery teacher's voices shouting, "Tang Yuran, be careful!!"
Gu Yu turned around instinctively and saw Tang Yuran plunge forward, just an arm's length away from himself.
Right in front of her was the kindergarten's small vegetable garden, and standing right by were rows of white fences, straight and tall. If Tang Yuran were to fall in that position...
Gu Yu quickly reached out and grabbed Tang Yuran's arm, pulling her towards himself.
With a "plop", Tang Yuran ended up sprawled on top of Gu Yu, who was then pressed down, sitting straight on the ground.
"Gu Yu!"
"Tang Yuran!!"
The teachers rushed over to them anxiously and asked, "Are you okay, did you fall somewhere, does it hurt??"
"I... uh... wah—!!" Tang Yuran burst into tears immediately, she had been scared out of her wits a moment ago. If she had fallen on the small fences by the vegetable garden... she… she…
Gu Yu furrowed his brows, glanced at Tang Yuran who was wailing on top of him, and couldn't help but roll his eyes and say, "Can you get off me first? You're so heavy... you're crushing me."
The nursery teacher hurriedly picked Tang Yuran up.
