Chapter 3: 003
"Carry me!"
"Eh?" Max muttered out loud as he tilted his head in confusion, while Khiona opened her arms wide with a big, innocent smile on her face.
She nodded her head as she added, "Carry me, and run around this training room a hundred times!"
"Oh," a flicker of understanding passed through Max's eyes, "but don't we have weights for that, Mother? Why do I need to carry you?" he asked while a smirk bloomed on his face.
Khiona's mouth twitched at his words, "The weights are useless; you should carry me!" she exclaimed while her cheeks flushed a little.
CHUCKLE
Max chuckled at this and walked over to her. He then turned around, showing his back to her.
Khiona's smile widened as she wrapped her arms and legs around his neck and waist; Max's eyes widened a little while his mouth twitched, 'She's heavy!'
"What is it, baby? Is mama heavy for you?" she asked with a smile that's not a smile. She opened her eyes wide as she observed her son's expression.
Sweat formed on Max's face as he knew this was a trap; he remembered from his past life, 'Never say that a woman is heavy!'
"N-No, mother. You are light as a feather!" Max answered with a strained smile.
"Hehe, really? Thank you!" she said as she rested her head on his back.
Max shook his head, took a deep breath, and started running around the training grounds.
He ran at a steady pace and after a while, his body began to ache while his breathing became rugged.
'Damn! My muscles seem stiff, as if they are frozen!' Max exclaimed inwardly as he continued running.
Meanwhile, Khiona was having the time of her life as she hummed a song while rubbing her face against his back.
The smile never left her face as she tightened her hug, "Baby, you need to run faster!" she said cheerfully.
Max's eyes twitched, but he answered nonetheless, "....Okay, Mother."
He then increased the pace, while his expression turned serious. After another couple of rounds, he felt the skin surrounding his legs tearing up and blood started leaking.
'Dammit, why do I feel as if the legs are frozen in ice!' he screamed internally as his pace decreased.
"Hmm?" Khiona mumbled as she raised her head; she looked down at his bleeding legs and muttered, "Hmm? I only froze them a little though?"
Max frowned when he heard her words; he then came to a screeching halt as he turned his head to the side. "You froze my legs?"
Khiona blinked innocently as she nodded and answered, "Yes."
"...Okay," Max said as he resumed running, this time trying his hardest to keep a steady pace.
Khiona's smile widened as she leaned forward and kissed his back, "Thank you." She whispered as she rested her face on his back.
The one thing Max knew all his life was that his mother loved him very much, obsessively so. 'She would never harm me on purpose. And would always want the best things for me. So there must be a reason for her trying to freeze my legs.'
He kept running for a couple of hours before he finished the laps. He put his mother on the ground as he breathed heavily.
His pants were soaked in blood, but the wounds in his legs have healed by now. It took a while for him to catch his breath before he turned to his mother.
"You did great for your first time. But we need to cut your time to the tenth of this one if you want to seriously start training." She answered honestly.
She wanted the best for her son; if he wants to train, then she will train him. 'And I can spend more time with him like this!' she mumbled inwardly with giddy.
"Ahem, rest for five minutes, then you will be doing a thousand push-ups, with me on top of you, of course." She added.
Max nodded absentmindedly and rested for a few minutes before he started doing push-ups, with his mother on top of him, of course.
And just like before, Khiona started freezing his muscles, his arms this time. But she only froze them just enough to trigger his regeneration.
"123!"
.
.
"256!"
.
.
.
"457!"

"One of the most powerful weapons for a vampire is their regeneration. It helps us to have prolonged battles. So we need to train our regeneration." She began explaining as she sat on top of him.
Max, too, stopped counting and began listening to her explanation.
"Of course, we can also train your regeneration by cutting off your limbs or something."
Max's face paled when he heard her; he imagined himself limbless. He shuddered at the thought and continued listening.
"But that's barbaric, and I don't want to hurt you. So, by freezing your muscles and doing exercise, you are tearing them, triggering your regeneration. But since you are also training your muscles, they become sturdy!" She ended her explanation.
Max nodded in understanding, 'hitting two birds with one stone, huh?'
After he was done with push-ups, Khiona made him do many other exercises, including pull-ups, squats, crunches.
By the end of the training, Max's clothes were soaked with blood while his face was covered in dried blood stains.
'Ugh! I smell like rusted iron!' he grumbled inwardly. He then turned to his mother, whose eyes were shining as she observed him carefully, as if he were a great piece of art.
Khiona rubbed her chin as she analysed her son's body. 'Need to improve on strength and endurance, and the upper core area…' She took mental notes on the areas her son was lacking.
She analysed him for a few moments before she finished, "Come, baby. You need to take a bath. You are soaked in blood." She said as she held his hand and started walking toward the bathrooms in the training room.
Max's eyes widened at this while an amused smile bloomed on his face, 'Interesting…'
