My Movie Queen

Chapter 18

When they returned to the lakeside, they proceeded to make their shelter.

It took them 3 hours to build a shelter

"I think it's good enough for now," commented Vanessa as she looked around the shelter while avoiding getting closer or even looking at Yanna.

"Let's name it Turtle Shack," Yanna said out of nowhere.

Vanessa was speechless; sometimes Yanna is kind of weird.

"Let's go catch fish now," Vanessa ignored Yanna and prepared to catch fish but was stopped by Yanna.

Vanessa looked at her and squinted her eyes at Yanna.

"Ahem. Don't look at me like that. I just want to remind you that we don't have any spare clothes," Yanna said, feeling weird. Is it just her or does Vanessa seem to be in a bad mood?

Vanessa paused for a moment, then continued.

"You go wash our clothes, and I'll get something for dinner," Vanessa instructed.

"Wait, don't you think it should be the opposite?" Yanna tried to voice her opinion, but she couldn't say it straight because it seemed like Vanessa was not in a good mood.

Vanessa noticed that Yanna became careful with her words, maybe because of the sudden cold treatment from her. But she couldn't help it; she felt that she shouldn't be so possessive of Yanna.

Yanna is nice, and seeing her having and making friends is a good thing, but what she did earlier was rude. Although Yanna didn't find it rude or weird, she can't say the same thing about others. Not everyone is as dense as Yanna.

She also speculates that she might already like Yanna, but how is that possible? They are close friends and just getting to know each other. Can you really like a person more than friends in just a few days and nights? She doesn't know what real liking feels like; she just knows how to act.

She wants to distance herself from Yanna for a while, but seeing her like this when they are just getting started, she became scared that Yanna might avoid her or distance herself for real.

Vanessa unconsciously bowed her head and said calmly.

"I don't know how to wash clothes, but I know how to catch fish."

Yanna looked at her and noticed that something is not right. She didn't care about the camera and hugged Vanessa.

She has no idea what is happening to Vanessa, but as someone who wants Vanessa as a sister and closest friend, she can only hug her to comfort her.

'Based on my experience in my acting career, this is how you should comfort someone, especially if it's a girl, right?'

Vanessa froze when she was hugged by Yanna, but she couldn't let her go. She wanted to understand what she feels, but she couldn't say it to anyone until she heard Yanna.

"Vanes? You know that I'm always all ears to you, right? If something is troubling you, let's talk about it. If you feel uncomfortable, just say it to me. If you need help, just say a word."

Yanna held Vanessa's face and looked into her eyes. She could see her eyes getting red.

Vanessa wanted to ask something when she heard Yanna, but she remembered the camera. So she could only whisper for the time being.

"Let's talk about it later, after the live broadcast."

Yanna calmly nodded and let go of Vanessa.

____

After Yanna finished washing, she sat in front of the fire and put her right hand on her heart.

She felt it when Vanessa whispered to her, everything turned into slow motion. Her heart beat faster, louder, and clearer. She realized how beautiful Vanessa's natural white hair was, like silk; her eyes were like an ocean that might drown her, and her red lips looked so soft and sweet.

Yanna looked at the night sky and took a deep breath. She closed her eyes to feel the wind, to hear the insects, to hear the beautiful rustling trees.

'No, maybe because I've never been close to anyone for a long time, so when I get along with Vanessa, I unconsciously take note of her good features and character. Vanessa is pretty. If I like her, maybe it's liking beautiful things. I mean, who doesn't like beauty?'

Yanna finally calmed her heart when she found a good reason for herself. Because she was lost in thought, she didn't notice Vanessa coming from behind.

Vanessa looked at Yanna's back and wanted to call her out since there was no camera around now, but she thought about how Yanna would respond if she scared her. She walked silently.

Vanessa leaned towards Yanna and blew in her ear.

Yanna opened her eyes wide and immediately turned her head. But her lips bumped into something soft she had never felt before, and the sensation felt unique, even for a moment.

Vanessa was shocked; everything happened so fast that when Yanna turned her head, she didn't react quickly. But she felt it.

Both of them distanced themselves at once, and Yanna apologized first.

"That was an accident, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it. Did you get hurt?"

Yanna showcased her best acting skills this time to make sure they wouldn't feel awkward.

Vanessa, on the other hand, didn't think Yanna was acting and believed that Yanna just didn't think too much about it. But for her, it was different.

She relaxed and gave the two big tuna and crabs to Yanna. She tried to act like usual, even if her feelings became clear to herself. She now understood her possessiveness towards Yanna.

They both kept quiet, having different thoughts while keeping themselves busy. Vanessa arranged the shack while Yanna cooked, and no one spoke.

Yanna never thought that her first kiss would turn out to be the protagonist, but she didn't expect that after reserving it for her future partner, it would end up being a stolen kiss.

'Luckily, my first kiss is with a beauty. It's still a good thing, I guess.'

While Vanessa also thought the same.

Vanessa glanced at Yanna and then down at her lips. She was like a predator full of curiosity looking at her prey.

'It's my first kiss, and it feels weird. Is a kiss supposed to make your heart beat faster and make you want more? No, I like her. It's natural to want something from the person you like. But liking someone is not always a good thing. What if, just like them, she will also-'
