My Movie Queen

Chapter 24

Yanna, who hadn't expected Vanessa's response, was momentarily speechless. She could only smile at such words but felt touched by the trust Vanessa had shown her.

"Well, thank you," Yanna replied, at a loss for any other way to respond to such compliments.

Glancing at Yanna, Vanessa couldn't help but smile.

'Her personality is really cute,' she thought.

During the two weeks they had spent together, they had gotten to know each other better and become closer. Vanessa didn't hold back her emotions with Yanna. For example, if she didn't like something, she would express it without hesitation. If she was in a bad mood or felt like acting like a child, she didn't hide it either.

She was happy to be able to freely express her feelings, something she had struggled with before. And Yanna seemed to understand her with just a single glance, which Vanessa found both amusing and comforting.

On the other hand, Yanna, although she had already adjusted herself to this new world, would still feel fear and unease from time to time. But every time she felt it, Vanessa would come and hug her, and her worries and discomfort would fade away just like that. Yanna was very grateful and grew fond of Vanessa.

Sometimes she wanted to tell the truth to Vanessa, but she knew it wasn't the right time yet. She could only carry it on her own.

They felt incredibly comfortable in each other's presence and could now joke and enjoy each other's company. However, they made sure to do this only when there was no one else around or any cameras.

They also discovered a remote camera flying near their turtle shack one week ago. The crew communicated with them when they managed to catch the camera and wanted to retrieve it.

Yanna and Vanessa agreed to give it back with one condition: the camera should not monitor them at night. This way, nobody had any clue that they had grown even closer than before.

Yanna felt like she could be her true self without constantly thinking about her new gender whenever she was with Vanessa, which made Vanessa happy as well.

______

Yanna and Vanessa suddenly stopped when they heard a rustling sound nearby. They immediately hid behind a tree and squatted down.

Vanessa pulled out her knife from her waist, while Yanna also retrieved her knife from her thigh. Slowly raising her head, Yanna looked to see where the sound was coming from.

To her surprise, she saw a massive black bear standing near a tree where the crew had placed the backpack.

Both Yanna and Vanessa became nervous as it was their first encounter with such a massive black bear. Vanessa tried to recall all the survival guides she had learned for encountering a black bear.

Taking a deep breath, Vanessa whispered to Yanna, "Let's slowly back away while it's distracted."

Yanna nodded and they began to slowly retreat, keeping their eyes on the position of the black bear. However, at that moment, the cameraman who was following them accidentally stepped on a branch, capturing the black bear's attention.

The black bear turned towards the sound, standing on its hind legs and sniffing the air curiously. Yanna and the others remained still, staying calm and prepared.

Yanna observed the black bear for a few minutes and was glad that it didn't show any signs of aggression. She maintained a non-threatening body language, moving slowly and subtly.

She also held Vanessa's hand to comfort her and make her feel safe. Despite Vanessa's composure, Yanna could feel Vanessa's hand shaking.

In an attempt to reassure Vanessa, Yanna tightened her grip on Vanessa's hand. She kept her focus on the black bear, as did everyone else in the group. The crew, who were watching, prepared themselves for any potential danger.

After what felt like an eternity, the bear slowly turned its head, appearing uninterested. It took a few steps before disappearing into the surrounding trees.

Yanna and the others let out a collective sigh of relief. Realizing that Vanessa had lost her strength, Yanna immediately embraced her. Vanessa, still trembling with fear, tightly clung to Yanna, closing her eyes. Tears flowed down her cheeks.

Yanna felt her chest becoming damp and understood the extent of Vanessa's fear. To shield Vanessa from being seen in her vulnerable state, Yanna turned her back to the cameraman, while also pretending to be weak, as if hugging Vanessa would provide safety. Yanna was aware that the remote camera might have been nearby and watching them.

It took a while for Vanessa to calm down. She wanted to stay in this kind of embrace, but she was still aware of people watching the broadcast. She wanted to get out of Yof's arms, but Yanna whispered to her,

 "Just a little longer."

Vanessa, who heard Yanna's bedroom voice, blushed and became shy. Thankfully, they were hidden. She wanted to say something but remembered that their mic was turned on. So, she turned it off for both of them and said to Yanna,

"We are live on broadcast, Yanna. You can hug later, okay?"

Vanessa was getting too shy the longer they hugged in front of the cameras. It felt like they were having an affair to turn off the mic and talk secretly.

'No! What am I even thinking?! What an affair?! Geez... It's not like we are in a relationship.'

While Vanessa is just getting started with her inner drama, Yanna lets go of her. Vanessa came back to her senses and acted as usual. She turned on their mic and started to get back on track.

"It seems that it won't come back anymore."

"Yeah, but just to be safe, Vanes, you stay here and look out for any danger coming. I'll just get the bag."

"Okay, be careful."

This time, no danger came, and everything went smoothly. They looked for a safe place to take a rest and found a cave.

Yanna carefully checked the cave and confirmed that it was safe to stay for a while.
