Chapter 54: Chapter 54
Among the three key figures supporting Shin Konoha, Might Guy faced the least direct targeting. His role as a mentor to young orphans was not seen as an immediate threat, as the children under his care would need years to mature into effective contributors.
Tsunade, however, was a different matter. She encountered significant hostility, particularly from Konoha's own ninjas.
"Tsunade-sama, I regret the Hokage's orders," Kakashi said flatly as he launched an attack against her, his demeanor cold and detached.
Tsunade's reflexes, honed from years of experience, were sharp. With swift, decisive movements, she incapacitated the Konoha ninja surrounding her. Even Kakashi wasn't spared; her counterattack left him at a clear disadvantage.
"It's an order from the Fifth Hokage," Kakashi explained emotionlessly, clutching the remnants of his injured right hand.
"Danzo's finally taken the seat, hasn't he?" Tsunade sneered, her tone heavy with disdain. Kakashi's silence only confirmed her suspicions.
In that moment, Tsunade gleaned all she needed to know. It was clear that Jiraiya's intentions for her had been subtly conveyed through Kakashi's actions.
Using reverse summoning, Tsunade returned to the Slug Forest to tend to her wounds. Despite her injuries, she wasted no time. Once her condition was stabilized, she made her way back to the Land of Whirlpools, ensuring that the civilians under her protection reached Shin Konoha safely.
Upon awakening in her bed, Shizune at her side, Tsunade immediately summoned a meeting with Might Guy and the other key figures of Shin Konoha.
"We've become targets for every major village," Tsunade announced gravely, her voice resolute.
Although Might Guy and Rock Lee faced less direct targeting compared to Tsunade, they weren't exempt from challenges. Increasing pressure came from factions within the Rain Country, particularly Amegakure. The growing hostility underscored Shin Konoha's precarious position in the ninja world.
Naruto and Nagato, recognizing the escalating conflict, reluctantly decided to withdraw Amegakure's support for Shin Konoha. It was a painful but necessary decision to prevent further strain on their tenuous alliance.
"It's war now," Naruto said bitterly, his voice heavy with the weight of realization. Establishing a village, he understood, was far more complex than he had anticipated.
In response, Might Guy recounted the early struggles of Konoha's founders, emphasizing the harsh reality of building strength to establish dominance in the ninja world.
"We must be stronger," Might Guy said firmly, his words resonating with the group.
Naruto, deeply determined, resolved to seek guidance from his grandfather, Uzumaki Chito. He believed Chito's wisdom could provide the clarity Shin Konoha needed to navigate these turbulent times.
However, Tsunade interjected with a stern reminder. "Naruto," she began, her tone steady, "your grandfather expects us to solve our own problems. Relying on him too much will only weaken us in the long run."
The room fell silent as the weight of her words sank in. Tsunade's point was undeniable. Shin Konoha's fundamental weakness lay in its lack of skilled instructors to train its fledgling ninja.
After a moment of contemplation, Tsunade proposed a bold solution. "We need to look beyond Shin Konoha. Let's recruit capable individuals from other villages to strengthen our ranks. If we want to survive, we must adapt."
Her proposal was met with agreement. Though risky, it was a necessary step toward fortifying Shin Konoha against the mounting threats it faced.
