Gen put away the kunai from under his arm, and the three-tomoe Sharingan in his eyes slowly faded. A wave of exhaustion washed over him. He had been chasing those two elite jonin at the bandit stronghold for a long time, and then came back here to kill another jonin. Even though the Flying Thunder God technique used up very little chakra, there was still a drain, especially the discomfort from constantly shifting through space, which made it hard for an unadapted body to get used to.

"Not bad. I still have about a third of my chakra left. That's the benefit of the Uchiha clan, their chakra reserves are rare among the various clans."

Gen turned around, glancing at the house he had destroyed in the distance. He shook his head and prepared to return to the clan. Uchiha Zen and the others had probably already met with misfortune.

Suddenly, a bush not far to his left trembled slightly. Gen's eyes instantly turned into the three-tomoe Sharingan, and he drew out a kunai with a cold voice saying, "Who's there? Come out!"

His left hand had already started to silently form hand seals for a B-rank Fire Style technique, Fire Flame Slash!

"Don't attack, it's me!" A voice rang out, and Gen was slightly startled. The voice sounded so familiar.

A child, about the same size as him, jumped out from the bush. He was wearing the same Uchiha clan robe, with a face that looked somewhat similar to Gen's. He seemed to be of a similar age, though their temperaments were worlds apart. Gen had a mature aura that made people subconsciously overlook his age, while this boy, though trying hard to act mature, still clearly showed traces of youth.

"Senna? What are you doing here?" Gen exclaimed in surprise. He never expected that the person coming out would be Uchiha Senna.

Uchiha Senna, after emerging, awkwardly smiled at him. A shadow dropped from the tree, and another person, also wearing the Uchiha clan's attire, nodded at Gen and said, "Young Master Gen!"

Gen looked up and down at the two of them, his eyes narrowing slightly. He recognized the second person—an elite jonin of the clan named Uchiha Seimei.

It wasn't unusual for others to appear here, but the appearance of Senna and Seimei at this time was very suspicious.

In an instant, Gen recalled the events from when Uchiha Tanaka had given him this task, as well as the look of schadenfreude in Uchiha Madara's eyes when he had looked at him. Combining this with the covert ninjas who had appeared at the clan meeting, and now Senna and Seimei before him, he seemed to have arrived at some sort of explanation.

Gen calmly moved in front of Senna, his face as dark as thunder. He asked stiffly, "Were you two here when I was fighting that Hyuga jonin?"

It was the first time Senna had seen Gen show such an expression. Cold sweat dripped down his forehead, and he swallowed nervously before nodding.

Gen took a deep breath and asked again, "Where's Uchiha Madara?"

Senna pointed off into the distance.

Gen followed his finger and saw the bandit stronghold in the distance. His face darkened even more. He took a few deep breaths, forcing himself to remain calm, and spoke, almost word by word, "You... came here with me... didn't you?"

Senna's forehead was covered in cold sweat. Fearing Gen's anger, he cautiously said, "To be precise, we were an hour late."

Bang!

A large ancient tree behind Senna was suddenly smashed, and Gen calmly retracted his fist. After a two-second silence, he suddenly erupted in fury, snapping the kunai in his hand. "Damn it, Uchiha Madara, you're ruthless! You dared to scheme against me. If I don't take revenge for this, my name's not Gen!" He was so angry that he even let slip his previous name.

Senna weakly asked, "Aren't we all named Uchiha?"

Gen suddenly looked down at him, his eyes filled with anger that sent a chill through Senna, who no longer dared to speak further.

"Tell your brother when you see him," Gen snarled, "I want to challenge him to a one-on-one deathmatch. I thought he had the demeanor of a dragon soaring through the skies, but it turns out he's just petty and small-minded. If he faces a situation like this, it's his own fault, damn it!"

From the moment Senna mentioned that Madara was at the bandit stronghold, Gen had realized what was going on. The Uchiha clan had used him as bait and sold him out.

He had been confused when he first encountered Hyuga Tamamo, wondering why such a simple plan was enough for his uncle to send him out like this. But then he realized, the whole Uchiha clan must have known about the situation with the Fuujin Mineral Mountain. Were they all fools?

Even if the entire clan was brainless, the Uchiha intelligence network should have been fine, right? How could they not notice elite jonin from another clan infiltrating their doorstep? At this rate, they couldn't even claim to be one of the two great warring clans anymore—perhaps they should just collectively commit suicide.

Now he understood, though. The Uchiha clan had probably received the intelligence about the Hyuga clan and Senju, and they feared that elite jonin might directly face off against the intruders. So, they decided to send him in, thinking he was expendable.

Tamamo probably never expected that the Uchiha clan had set her up to be the one to die, and both of them had been playing their little mind games, thinking they were clever. Now, Gen realized, they were both fools.

He could even imagine that according to the original plan, there would have been backup for him once the enemy started attacking, allowing them to turn the tables. It was probably Madara's fault for intentionally setting him up to suffer after the previous incident, where Gen had forced Madara to hold his ground for five more minutes.

Of course, Gen never thought Madara wanted him dead—he probably just wanted to teach him a lesson. But to Gen's surprise, he had fought off five Chunin and even escaped from their trap. Even though he hadn't seen Madara's face, Gen could imagine the look of shock on his face.

With that thought, Gen's anger finally subsided a little, and he turned around and said, "Let's go back to the clan!"

Senna reluctantly glanced back at the bandit stronghold in the distance. Though he wanted to go there and take a look, he felt the intense killing intent radiating from Gen, so he wisely chose to stay silent.

As they turned to leave for the clan, a sudden surge of intense chakra exploded from Fuujin Mountain. Even from this distance, they could clearly feel the tremor, and the chakra's intensity was something Gen had never felt before—far exceeding that of elite jonin.

Uchiha Seimei's expression changed drastically. He exclaimed, "This chakra—it's someone from the Hyuga clan's head family! Could it be Hyuga Tenjin? That old man has secretly followed us? Why wasn't this reported in the intel?"

Gen froze for a moment, then realized that the clan leader was on the level of a Kage, and his expression changed. He vaguely remembered Hyuga Tenjin being mentioned in the original story, though not in much detail.

He wondered how many people Madara had brought with him. If it was really Hyuga Tenjin, then they might still be in danger. Gen couldn't help but feel a sense of unease.

Just then, a streak of fire shot across the sky at breakneck speed, heading toward Fuujin Mountain. In the midst of the fire, a shadow could be seen.

"The clan leader?" Uchiha Seimei gasped.

As the fire fell toward Fuujin Mountain, the ground trembled, and the intensity of the shake was several times stronger than before, like an earthquake had struck.

Gen stared in astonishment at the direction of the bandit stronghold. This was his first time feeling the battle of someone at the Kage level since he arrived in this world—it was a truly earth-shattering spectacle.
