Chapter 95: Chapter 17:Samurai Robots!

Team 7 stepped into the second level of the wolf dungeon, their footsteps echoing ominously in the dimly lit stone corridor. Naruko's eyes darted around cautiously before landing on a wooden board beside the large, imposing wooden door. She stepped closer and began to read aloud.

"The second level is called the Maze of Death. This is a maze which the Genins will have to go through, and they will be chased after by killing samurai machines loaded with numerous weapons. There are at least 500 machines in the seals, so destroying them all is useless. Genins cannot destroy the seal containing the machines. The only way to pass is to get to the finish line of the maze while being on the lookout for attacks from hidden traps and the samurai killing machines."

Naruko took a step back, her face pale as she imagined some kind of monster made out of metal wielding a katana that would look like it came right out of your nightmares. "Well, that sounds... fun," she muttered sarcastically.

Hitomi frowned, tapping her chin thoughtfully. "So, it's not just about avoiding traps. We need speed and probably a bit of luck to avoid being overwhelmed by those machines."

Yuto, however, was uncharacteristically silent. His mind was elsewhere as he processed the description of the samurai machines. 'Killing machines loaded with weapons... 500 of them, huh?' His thoughts drifted to memories of some android-themed animes he had watched in his past life. 'This feels like something out of Dragon Ball Z, or maybe even more like a low-budget mecha anime. Wait... if I can store one of those machines in my inventory and study it... Could I reverse-engineer it with my crafting eyes? Build my own machines? Maybe even a Gundam? Or... a MEGAZORD!'

The thought of piloting a massive, shiny robot in the middle of battle brought a huge grin to Yuto's face, his eyes lighting up with excitement. 'Power Rangers was a classic, after all. Imagine showing up to a fight in a giant mecha Godzilla like that!'

"Yuto? Are you... okay?" Hitomi's voice snapped him out of his daydreams. She looked at him warily, her brows furrowed.

He coughed, quickly masking his enthusiasm with a serious expression. "Yeah, just strategizing."

Naruko rolled her eyes. "Sure, 'strategizing.' You looked like you were having the time of your life in your head."

Yuto ignored the jab, stepping closer to the door. "Regardless, we need to be prepared. Make sure you keep your guard up at all times."

Naruko cracked her knuckles. "Alright, I'm ready to show those tin cans what a future Hokage is made of!"

Hitomi nodded her head. "We'll need to move as a team. Splitting up could be dangerous in a maze like this, especially with traps."

"Agreed," Yuto said. He placed a hand on the door, glancing back at the two girls. "Let's get through this together. Stick close, watch each other's backs, and don't let your guard down for a second."

With a nod, Naruko stepped forward and pushed the door open. The creaking echoed ominously as they peered inside, the dark, winding corridors of the maze stretching out endlessly before them.

"Ready?" Naruko asked, trying to mask her nervousness with her usual bravado. "Always," Yuto replied back.

The trio exchanged glances before stepping into the maze. The door creaked shut behind them, sealing them into the level.

Team 7 cautiously advanced through the maze, their footsteps soft against the stone floor. Yuto led the group, his eyes scanning every nook and cranny, while Naruko and Hitomi flanked him, their senses on high alert.

After a couple of turns—first to the right, then a sharp left—they found themselves standing at a three-way intersection. The flickering light from the maze's torches cast long shadows, adding to the tension in the air.

Hitomi furrowed her brow, her voice barely above a whisper. "I hear something... from the right path."

Naruko's ears perked up, and she frowned. "Probably those samurai machines," she said, her tone laced with irritation. "Let's avoid them if we can. I don't feel like getting sliced today." While she was confident she will win against those tin cans, they had a time limit for the exam so they have to move fast.

Yuto nodded in agreement. "Left it is, then."

They turned and began moving down the left corridor, their senses primed for any traps or threats. Suddenly, Naruko froze mid-step, her instincts kicking in. She leaped back just in time as a metal hand shot out from the ground, narrowly missing her ankle.

"What the—!" Naruko exclaimed, landing a few feet away.

Yuto and Hitomi immediately activated their dojutsu. Hitomi's Sharingan spun to life, analyzing the sudden threat, while Yuto's Kamigan glowed crimson as he scanned the source of the attack.

The metal hand extended further, revealing its owner. Emerging from the floor was a humanoid robot, standing nearly twice as tall as Kakashi. Its imposing frame gleamed under the torchlight, encased in full samurai armor. The metallic beast wielded four arms, two of which held gleaming katanas, while the other two were free, poised like claws ready to strike.

While the girls were cautions of the robot, Yuto, however, wasn't paying attention to the immediate threat. His Kamigan had locked onto the inner workings of the robot, specifically the seal embedded within its core. His eyes narrowed as he observed the chakra flow within the intricate design.

'Interesting…' Yuto thought, his scanner ability working on the seal he saw inside the robot. 'That seal... it's the key. It's storing chakra and using it to animate the machine's movements. A functional chakra-based automation system.'

The memory of Boruto: Next Generations flashed in his mind—a specific episode where a scientific ninja tool called a chakra condenser was introduced. It was a compact device that stored chakra and jutsu within a pellet, which could then be launched to release the stored technique. 'This is like a primitive version of that technology,' he realized, his excitement growing.

He smirked, the possibilities running wild in his head. 'If I can extract and study this seal, I could reverse-engineer it. Maybe even improve it. A perfected version of this could open the door to countless applications—my dream of a Gundam or Megazord is not impossible!'

The predatory grin on his face widened as his Kamigan recorded every detail of the seal. He stared at the samurai robot like a predator eyeing its prey.

Naruko noticed his expression and blinked. "Uh, Yuto? You look... kinda creepy right now."

Hitomi glanced at him but didn't comment, instead keeping her focus on the robot. "Yuto, if you have a plan, now's the time."

Yuto snapped out of his thoughts and tightened his grip on his sword. "Yeah, I've got a plan," he said, his voice brimming with confidence. "But first, let's take this thing apart... piece by piece."
