Chapter 6: Shocked and Acknowledgement
Chapter 6: Shocked and Acknowledgement
Shin, Kakashi, and Hikari huddled together to strategize before taking on Sakumo. Shin decided to reveal some of his abilities, carefully choosing what to share.
"I can create portals and use them to redirect objects or people," Shin explained. "But I have limits. It's better if I focus on creating openings for you two to attack. I'll also try something unconventional with kunai to keep him off guard."
Kakashi raised an eyebrow, impressed. "A space-time jutsu? That's rare, even among Jonin. You're not hiding anything else, are you?"
Shin smirked but avoided the question. "Just focus on the plan."
Hikari, still processing the revelation, activated her Byakugan and scanned their surroundings. "I'll handle close-range attacks and target his chakra points. Kakashi, you support with kenjutsu. Shin, guide us with your portals."
With their plan set, they launched their attack.
As the battle began, Shin cast Dante Al-Thais, summoning four portals that surrounded Sakumo. Kakashi darted through one portal, appearing behind Sakumo with his blade aimed at his shoulder. Hikari emerged from another, aiming a palm strike at his blind spot.
Though Sakumo dodged effortlessly, the continuous portal shifts forced him to stay on the defensive. The unpredictability of Shin's portals made it difficult to anticipate the duo's attacks.
"This coordination… impressive," Sakumo thought as he deflected Kakashi's blade and evaded Hikari's chakra-laden strikes.
Shin added to the pressure, summoning five additional portals. He tied chakra strings to kunai, controlling them with precise movements. The kunai danced unpredictably, appearing and disappearing through the portals.
Sakumo, momentarily distracted by Kakashi's feint, noticed too late when a portal opened to his right. A kunai shot through, grazing his sleeve. The distraction allowed Shin to use another portal to snatch the two bells from Sakumo's belt.
It was over.
Sakumo scratched the back of his head, a wry smile on his face. "You three… you're something else. I didn't expect such coordination and creativity from Genin."
Kakashi smirked, but his gaze lingered on Shin. "That space-time technique… it's no ordinary kekkei genkai."
Hikari added, "The precision and control needed to handle those kunai and portals—Shin, you're not just talented; you're gifted."
Shin shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant, but inwardly he felt a surge of pride.
Sakumo's thoughts mirrored his son's observation. Shin's kekkei genkai is remarkable. The way he uses it shows not just raw talent but an understanding of battle mechanics that surpasses his age. Hikari's chakra point strikes and Kakashi's refined kenjutsu complemented him perfectly. This team… it has potential.
Far away, Sarutobi Hiruzen watched the scene through his telescope jutsu, a warm smile on his face. Turning to Kenshin, who stood nearby, he said, "Your son is truly remarkable. His potential is boundless. It's clear now why the Hattori clan's secret technique responded to him."
Kenshin bowed slightly. "Thank you, Lord Third. I only hope he'll have the time and guidance to reach his full potential."
Hiruzen's smile faded, replaced by a serious expression. "Leave that to me. I'll ensure Shin is protected and given room to grow."
Kenshin's jaw tightened. "I understand. Thank you Hokage Sama."
As Kenshin left, Hiruzen remained deep in thought. Shin must be nurtured to inherit the Will of Fire. But I must tread carefully. Danzo… he won't stay idle once he learns of this.
Back at the training ground, Sakumo handed the bells to Kakashi and Hikari, smiling as he addressed the team. "You've all passed. As of today, we're officially Team 4. Be proud of what you've achieved today, but remember—this is just the beginning."
Shin nodded, a sense of accomplishment swelling within him. But he also knew that his journey was only beginning, and the challenges ahead would require even greater strength, skill, and cunning.
