Chapter 2: Chapter 2
Uchiha Kagami couldn't absorb too much of Sukuna's power. The principle was similar to Naruto's relationship with the Nine-Tails.
His body was still developing, too young to handle such overwhelming energy.
If it were the Nine-Tails in his body, Kagami would still try to reconcile with it. But Sukuna... Sukuna was a completely different kind of beast—an egoist, with an extremely dark and twisted nature. He reveled in violence, particularly towards women and children.
Kagami understood Sukuna for what he was: simply a source of power, a parasite whose only purpose was to feed on others to fuel his own growth.
In comparison, Kagami's bloodline, his Sharingan, was far more valuable and worthy of cultivation.
The Sharingan, the ultimate manifestation of spiritual energy, was a power that controlled imagination, capable of turning mental constructs into reality. Once awakened to the Mangekyo Sharingan, it even had the potential to distort time and space itself.
In essence, the cursed power of Sukuna was just another form of spiritual energy.
Spiritual energy and physical energy—Yin and Yang. At its core, the difference was that Yin energy dealt with the mind and imagination, while Yang energy dealt with the body and physical form.
Kagami's soul was that of an adult, and with Sukuna, a powerhouse of spiritual energy, his mental power was far beyond normal. Had he not consciously restrained his mental energy since the age of two, he might have awakened his Mangekyo Sharingan at just eight years old.
In his father's opinion, it was dangerous to awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan too soon—it placed an immense burden on the body. Itachi Uchiha's early illness might have stemmed from the strain of using the Mangekyo at a young age, despite his incomplete physical development.
If Shisui hadn't been tragically killed before he could experience the long-term effects, it might have been easier to judge Kagami's condition by studying Shisui's case.
As for Obito? Wasn't his half of White Zetsu's body a troublesome problem?
…
Actually, it might not be that hard to deal with...
Just as Kagami was lost in his thoughts about how to deal with the situation regarding , the teacher's voice echoed from the front of the class.
"There will be a practical session in the afternoon. For freshmen, we'll start with a shuriken throwing test."
---
The system of the ninja academy had been established years ago, though it was still in its early stages. It wasn't until the third Hokage's reign that it was fully developed, and various clans were incorporated, with even elite shinobi like the "Legendary Three" going through formal training.
It was particularly important to note that Orochimaru and Jiraiya had come from commoner backgrounds, which spoke volumes about the open nature of the system.
No matter how much the third Hokage's future decisions would be criticized for being cowardly in the name of "tolerance," the current generation of ninjas wasn't as old and stagnant as it would later become.
Hashirama Senju had been a legend, conquering the best lands, but his death led to the outbreak of two world wars.
The Village Hidden in the Leaves had emerged victorious in both of them.
Despite all the criticism, the third Hokage had his merits.
Kagami considered the third Hokage and his faction enemies. However, he did not underestimate them.
As an orphan, Kagami had experienced the warmth of his "tribe" for the first time, and he was determined to prevent the extinction of his clan in the future.
He would not blindly follow the original timeline, as he and Sukuna were both variables in the grand scheme of things. It would be foolish to adhere to the established path.
For some major events bound by time, one could not influence them, but for others, it was better to forget them, so as not to cloud his judgment.
"Uchiha Kagami-san, what are you thinking about?"
Sitting beside Kagami, Kurenai tapped his shoulder lightly.
*I'm thinking about how to rid the village of the evil forces led by the third Hokage and your father's clique.*
Kagami turned his head and ignored her. His personality was actually more akin to Itachi Uchiha's than Sasuke's. He was proud, arrogant, and believed he was destined to shoulder all the consequences of his decisions.
Itachi had been willing to destroy his own clan for the sake of the village, while Kagami was willing to destroy the village to protect his clan.
Could the village even exist without the Uchiha?
Kagami didn't want to form bonds with these people. They were as poisonous as poison itself.
Obito had been cruel enough to exterminate his entire clan, yet he'd spared Kakashi's eyes, abandoning his invincible stance.
Sasuke had fallen into conflict with Naruto, who refused to leave him alone, and Sasuke refused to transplant his arm in atonement for his sins.
Were they serious? What crimes had they committed?
---
As for the little girls, the more you ignored them, the more they became interested in you.
Of course, this only applied if you were good-looking.
Kurenai leaned closer. "Your hair's a bit curly too. Is that natural?"
Kagami stood up in disgust and walked off to find a place to eat his lunch.
While Kagami didn't care much about his classmates, Kurenai was a "talent" who could use conventional illusions to compete with someone who owned the Mangekyo Sharingan.
Kagami feared that speaking with her might lower his IQ.
Kurenai, left behind, felt confused and disheartened. She could sense Kagami's clear disdain.
Did I do something to make him upset?
Is curly hair not nice?
---
Sitting under a tree with his lunchbox, Kagami was soon surrounded by several young boys.
"Uchiha brat, you're so cool!" Young Asuma approached with a toothpick in his mouth.
"You know, Kurenai and I are good friends. Why are you pretending like that?"
Kagami ate calmly, unfazed. "Not only that, but you'll get married and have kids someday."
"Uh…"
Asuma, who was about to attack, froze, his face turning red.
"What... marriage? It's too far away for that!"
"But you, Uchiha, keep talking..."
"By the way, the kid you have won't look like you—it'll look more like an Uchiha," Kagami added, cutting him off.
---
"Ahh!! Let's go! Beat him up! It's on!" Asuma, furious, rushed at him.
---
A minute later, Kagami sat comfortably on Asuma's back, continuing to eat.
"Now, let me answer your original question," Kagami said, casually stepping on Asuma's palm.
"We Uchiha are just that cool."
"Don't think I'm the type to wear goggles."
"Ah!! Let me go! I wasn't ready before!!"
The commotion gathered a crowd. As Asuma's face turned even redder, more and more people watched.
"You're just kids fighting. You can do it again."
After finishing his lunch, Kagami stood and pressed Asuma's palm into the ground.
*Click.*
A faint sound of bones breaking filled the air.
Kagami turned, his cold gaze making Asuma freeze.
"If this were a battlefield and you attacked me, I could've killed you."
The cold murder intent made Asuma's nerves spike.
With the growing crowd around them, Kagami quickly reined in his killing intent and walked through the crowd, which parted for him.
He didn't care about building relationships with his classmates. He wasn't yet sure if his acting skills could fool the old-timers from the third generation, who would see through any facade he put on.
In their eyes, a normal Uchiha was always on the verge of exploding.
Playing it safe? That was Fugaku's style.
A Uchiha genius had to be aggressive, prideful, and fierce!
The relationship between the village and the Uchiha hadn't yet reached the point of assassinating young Uchiha geniuses. Otherwise, Kakashi, Shisui, and others wouldn't have lived past their childhood.
But when that time did come...
The madness in Kagami's eyes was even more terrifying than Sukuna's.
Only a monster could control another monster.
