Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Is This the Correct Posture to Pretend?
Ding! Ding!
Uzumaki Raiden clung tightly to Uzumaki Mito as she held him by the waist, speeding toward the direction of the enemy. As they passed the gates of Konoha, the sound of clashing metal reached their ears.
"Grandma Mito, hurry! They're fighting already!"
Hearing the noise, Raiden felt a surge of urgency. He was certain the legendary Namikaze Minato had arrived, and he didn't want to miss a moment.
Mito was briefly stunned by the sound of combat but quickly focused, a faint smile crossing her lips.
"What a powerful boy. Who could it be?"
Without another word, Mito increased her speed. The two moved swiftly through the bushes, finally emerging into an open clearing. Mito stopped abruptly, her gaze lifting to the treetops.
"Why are we stopping?" Raiden asked, confused as Mito set him down gently.
"Look," Mito said, her eyes fixed upward.
Raiden followed her gaze and saw two figures leaping out of the dense forest. In the moonlight, the blond-haired boy carried Uzumaki Kushina in his arms, landing gracefully on a large branch. His posture was perfect, his expression calm, and a faint smile graced his face.
Kushina clung to Minato, her arms wrapped around his waist as she gazed at him with admiration.
"Damn it! Is this how you're supposed to pretend? I need to learn this!" Raiden muttered, momentarily stunned by the scene. His gaze flicked between the pair, a mixture of awe and irritation bubbling within him.
"Though you're handsome, seducing a girl into early love is unacceptable!" Raiden clenched his fists. "Especially when that girl is my sister!"
Raiden's voice grew colder as he crouched slightly, his legs coiling like springs before launching him toward Minato and Kushina at an incredible speed.
"Raiden, wait!" Mito called, startled by his sudden movement. She was still processing the scene and hadn't anticipated Raiden's impulsive charge.
"Who?!" Minato had just begun to relax when Raiden's figure appeared before him, a fist flying straight for his face.
Startled, Minato barely managed to turn his head, narrowly avoiding the punch. Moving quickly, he leaped off the branch, landing softly on the ground while still holding Kushina.
"Put her down!" Raiden shouted, glaring at Minato. His voice carried an authority that belied his age.
Minato hesitated. The red-haired boy standing before him resembled Kushina, and Minato's sharp mind quickly pieced together their relationship. However, his instincts told him to remain cautious.
"Raiden?!" Kushina's eyes widened in surprise as she finally registered her brother's presence.
"My stupid sister," Raiden muttered under his breath, his gaze still fixed on Minato. "Feel my brotherly wrath."
Blue chakra swirled around Raiden's small frame, creating a vortex of energy. The intensity of the chakra sent shockwaves rippling through the clearing, and Minato felt a chill as the oppressive aura surrounded him.
"Who are you?" Minato asked calmly, his tone steady despite the palpable tension.
But Raiden didn't answer. In a flash, he disappeared from his spot, reappearing behind Minato mid-air, his leg sweeping toward Minato's face.
"So fast!" Minato thought, barely managing to raise his arm in time to block the attack.
However, Raiden wasn't done.
"Shadow Clone Technique!" Raiden's voice rang out as a puff of smoke appeared behind Minato. A second Raiden emerged, aiming a low sweep at Minato's legs.
Minato's eyes widened. "How does a child know such advanced techniques?"
Reacting quickly, Minato leaped into the air, twisting his body to evade the simultaneous attacks. As he spun, he lashed out with a kick, striking Raiden's shadow clone and dissipating it instantly. His foot then connected with Raiden's block, sending the younger boy skidding backward.
Raiden dug his heels into the ground, halting his momentum. His chest heaved as he assessed Minato, who had landed gracefully, his posture defensive but steady.
"This boy is extraordinary," Mito muttered, watching the battle unfold with keen interest.
Despite his young age, Raiden's control over chakra and his ability to hold his own against Minato—already showing signs of greatness—was remarkable.
"Stop it, Raiden! Minato is on our side!" Kushina finally shouted, realizing the misunderstanding.
Raiden paused, his gaze flickering toward his sister. His chakra began to surge again, but this time, it felt different—more volatile.
"Release!" Raiden said softly, forming a hand seal.
The diamond-shaped seal on his forehead began to glow, releasing an overwhelming surge of chakra that formed a tempest around him.
Minato's eyes narrowed as he felt the storm. "What is this power?"
But before Raiden could unleash the full extent of his energy, Mito appeared in front of him, her hand gently pressing on his shoulder.
"That's enough, Raiden," Mito said, her voice firm but kind. The Yin Seal on Raiden's forehead glimmered as Mito resealed the energy.
Raiden's chakra storm subsided, and his body relaxed under Mito's touch.
"It's not worth undoing months of hard work just to prove a point," Mito said softly. "You've done well, but you're not ready to wield this yet."
Turning to Minato, Mito's stern demeanor melted into a warm smile. "You must be Namikaze Minato. Thank you for saving my granddaughter."
Minato smiled in return, the moonlight accentuating his youthful features. "Yes, ma'am. My name is Namikaze Minato."
His polite tone and genuine smile were disarming, even for Raiden. For a moment, Raiden found himself admiring the older boy.
"Fine," Raiden muttered. "You might be decent, but don't think I'll let my guard down."
Minato chuckled softly, his calm demeanor unwavering.
Under the moonlit sky, the tension between the two boys began to fade, marking the beginning of a relationship destined to intertwine with the fate of the ninja world.
