Naruto: Mind over matter

I follow Yuko and Mariko to the testing building and climb the stairs, I have Ace active and bundled into a ball on my back, kind of like a backpack, he is very heavy even with the training I've done so I need to get that summoning jutsu down after this.

At the end of the stairs we approach the examination room and it seems we are one of the first, we approach and before the two guards can do there genjutsu bit I tap the other two and pull them back to the stairs.

"Hmm? What is it that is making us go up more, you may grace me with your knowledge"

"My special sight that I have said the sign was floor two not three"

"Woah! You can see through genjutsu with that eh!?"

"Only the types that affect the environment, and only in ten feet so only useful out of combat, if that were a trap I would've noticed so but been close enough to trigger it"

Heading to the actual gathering room we approach and hand in our forms before we have to wait for everyone else.

We see many teams enter and the room gets packed, after ten minutes I can see team 10 enter, then team 8 after them, and last minute team 7 rush in to hand in there forms and talk amongst each other.

I can see the sand siblings and give them a nod.

I watch as someone approaches them and starts handing out cards, I have to keep an eye out on Sasuke and Naruto in these exams... as well as one can I suppose.

After another five minutes and Naruto has screamed out his lungs some ninja start a fight with the glasses dude with the cards...

They know this is a formal test right? Why so aggressive?

"Quiet down you worthless bastards!"

Ah- thank fuck, the examiners are here.

"Sorry to keep you all waiting, my name is Morino Ibiki, ill be the examiner for your first test.."

He starts to get the room in check and makes sure no one starts any bullshit, I kind of like the examiners style though... I wonder if anyone would notice me changing my outfit?

"If I see any of you little piglets break any rules of this exam..."

"You will be disqualified immediately. DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR!"

Yes sir! Jeez this guy is intimidating...

"We will now begin the first test, all of you come collect your seating assignment and we ill pass out the written exam"

Ohh, ok this-

"A PAPER TEST!?"

Me, Yuko and Mariko find our seats, I seem to be beside shikamaru and a sand nin stranger.

This is gonna be easy! Ill just use my Telekinetic sight get Shikamaru's answers.

The test is hard, very hard. Shikamaru even took five minutes to do one!? Yikes I'm glad I sat next to him else I would of failed.

Lets hope Yuko can pull through with her questions and Mariko is smarter then she lets on!

I should have 10 points due to Shikamaru and Yuko is definitely smart, Mariko aint no dumbass so its pretty easy no?

I guess this test is of intellect, only the dumb ones will be removed...

Its been 20 minutes and another 40 to go?

Haaa~ what to do, what to do.... looking around the room it finally clicks in my head.

Oh shit this is a information gathering test! Holy hells I'm glad I just decided to cheat anyway... phew~

Hmm lets see if I can catch anyone cheating, the Hyuga's can just see another persons test kind of like me, Sasuke has his sharingan activated, does that count as one offense? Or multiple depending on how long he uses it?

30 minutes now and I notice some mirrors attached to kunai on the ceiling, when did they throw that up there, I cant even see who's moving it... I guess they put it up while everyone was crowding and cramming to the right desks.

45 minutes... the tenth question..

Morino explains the circumstances and multiple people leave the room...

A coward test, Anko-sensei keeps doing those to me so of course I recognize it, she works for him right? Or with him? I can see some of the skills she uses are definitely from him or her department.

Shikamaru is sweating a little and I can see Naruto holding his head.

Heh. Hurry up and scream Naruto... I know you want to exclaim to the class...

Ah, wait this is supposed to cull some of the weaker shinobi, damn that means more competition in the second test, Naruto... sometimes I love ya, sometimes I hate ya...

No one else leaves the room.

"Good call kid, everyone who has decided to remain has passed the first exam!"

Wait seriously? No intellect test at all? Why did I (Shikamaru...) put so much effort into this? I didn't have to flex my brain (cheat) at all?

I sigh as the other contestants complain and converse with the instructor, he wouldn't mind if I take his style though right? No, no stick to my guns...

waiting for his speech to be over I go into [Manual Operations] and passively stretch my body while sitting, I feel numb sitting for so long on these hardwood benches.

*crash*

"None of you should be celebrating! I am the next examiner for the second test Anko Mitarashi, times wasting! Lets go!"

I watch Anko-sensei pump her fist into the air and the classroom is silent... oh gods why did she do that, look at her face she looks so embarrassed.

*whistle* *clap clap clap*

My whistling and lonely claps in the otherwise quiet classroom make the situation more embarrassing for her, revenge for the completely unnecessary conditioning she made me do!

*cough*

"It seems you've gone easy on them! Twenty eight teams have passed!"

"... they are quite the exceptional batch this year.."

"Nonsense the only exceptional kid I see here is him!" She exclaims pointing at me...

Uh Oh, I pissed her off.

"It seems only one of you will pass the exam this year. Tch and here I was hoping I would be able to have some fun this year, culling you all!"

Fuck. Why did I try to embarrass her... everyone is looking at me now, why so much killing intent guys!?

"But it seems he will be doing the fun part for me! Nevertheless, follow me ill take you towards the second exam and explain the details on the way!"

She flickers out and I dash after her, she is going to leave us behind if were not quick, looking behind me everyone is watching me... fuuuuck meee! Why am I so stupid! Why!

We run towards the next exam and... I should of guessed, her favourite spot.

"This is the Arena you will be competing in! Training ground 44 more known as the forest of DEATH!"

Feeling the stares still, I exhale and calm my nerves... please don't be death match, please don't make them hunt me, please, please...
