Chapter 2: Ch 2: First Character Template
After slowly adjusting his breathing, Souta's eyes began to firm up.
"Do it!"
[Extracting...]
Souta ignored the images of various characters flashing in his mind as the system processed them. Instead, he stared at the drizzle outside.
At this moment, his eyes were gleaming with ambition.
Nobody wants to be beneath others or at the bottom of the hierarchy. Likewise, no man can be without the desire to rule the world and be hailed as supreme.
Souta had already formed a plan. Even if the character template drawn this time turned out weak, he had other means to escape.
One way was to travel to the Hidden Leaf as a war orphan. But that was a dangerous gamble.
While the anime portrayed Hidden Leaf Village as a peaceful place, the reality was far from it.
There weren't many good people in Hidden Leaf, and the impending war made the situation even more dangerous.
Going there was merely a last-ditch solution.
After all, it was not Souta's character to put all his eggs in one basket.
Thankfully, the system finished the character template extraction just as Souta was weighing his options.
Looking at the result, a smile slowly appeared on Souta's previously stoic face.
"It seems that last-ditch plan won't be necessary after all!"
[Congratulations to the host for extracting the character template of Yasuo, The Whirlwind Swordsman, from League of Legends.]
[Current sync rate: 0%]
On the system screen appeared the image of a man with a pigtail, a long sword at his waist, and a wine jug hanging on the other side.
His sharp features and eyes, filled with the weight of countless experiences, seemed to hold endless stories. This was Yasuo, the Whirlwind Swordsman from Ionia!
Still, Souta couldn't help but feel curious. After all, Yasuo was just a character from a game.
"Can characters from games be drawn as well?"
[The host is correct.]
[Note: Yasuo has his own backstory.]
Hearing this, Souta nodded in understanding.
Next, Souta began to think about how he could properly imitate Yasuo.
If Souta recalled correctly, Yasuo was a prodigy in his youth who had mastered the rare Wind Technique and evolved it into his own unique style.
However, his life took a tragic turn during the Noxian invasion of Ionia when he was falsely accused of murdering his master and abandoning his duty.
Despite being ostracized by everyone, Yasuo still had his own sense of justice in his heart.
While seeking the truth, he was forced to kill his brother, Yone, in self-defense, which deepened his guilt.
Eventually, Yasuo found out that his master's death was a noble sacrifice, not a betrayal.
His path as a wanderer was lonely, but it allowed him to meet others who would bring meaning to his life. Among them was a young Shuriman stoneweaver whom he mentored and who viewed him as a guiding figure.
Overall, Yasuo's life was still very tragic.
So although Yasuo was young, he looked older. This was because behind this vicissitude, there was an endless sorrow.
"If I want to imitate Yasuo, the first step is..."
Souta's thoughts became clear as he began forming hand seals with determination.
At this moment, the true value of the Transformation Technique, one of the three basic ninja arts, became obvious.
"Transformation Technique!"
Poof!
With a puff of white smoke, Souta's figure disappeared. In his place appeared a tall figure, about 1.8 meters in height, wearing a cowboy hat with a long sword and a wine flask at his waist.
Souta had transformed into Yasuo's Cowboy skin.
The reason for this choice was simple: this version best embodied Yasuo's will and wandering spirit.
Souta glanced down at his reflection in a puddle. The image staring back at him carried a weight, as if bearing the stories of a thousand battles. Even his eyes now mirrored the weariness of a life filled with countless hardships.
Raising his head, he gazed at the overcast sky above and uttered softly,
"My honor left a long time ago."
[Synchronization rate: +20%]
The system's prompt appeared the moment Souta spoke those words.
Just by using the Transformation Technique and saying a simple quote from the game, his Synchronization rate: had already increased by 20%.
"It seems reaching 100% won't be too difficult!"
A growing sense of power surged through Souta's body. Alongside it, Yasuo's swordsmanship techniques began to flow into his mind as if they had always been a part of him.
Even at just 20%, the strength he felt was extraordinary.
"You truly live up to the title of the legendary Whirlwind Swordsman," Souta murmured in admiration.
He unsheathed the long sword at his waist and twirled it with effortless grace, creating intricate arcs like flowers of sword in the air.
A faint gust of wind also surrounded Souta.
With a faint smile, Souta stepped into the rain. The droplets never touched him, scattered effortlessly by the strong winds swirling around him.
And as Souta moved, his imitation of Yasuo became deeper.
* * *
Holding a wine jug, sipping leisurely, and strolling through the rain, Souta exuded a sense of ease.
The system would not help except for matters related to increasing strength. But the system was not stingy when it came to some daily necessities. For instance, this wine was also given by the system.
After all, mid-game Yasuo was known for being a bit of a drunkard.
Fortunately, Souta could drink quite a bit, otherwise, he would not be able to imitate properly.
In such a short period of time, his synchronization rate had already reached 35%, which was a remarkable pace.
However, after reaching 35%, no matter how much Souta drank, the synchronization rate refused to budge.
Obviously, imitating Yasuo in this way had reached its limit.
Regardless, Souta was not in a hurry. He had just obtained this character, and it was still early to talk about understanding it.
Suddenly, Souta stopped in his tracks, and his expression turned serious.
"Smell of blood!"
As a veteran swordsman from Valoran, Yasuo was extremely sensitive to the smell of blood.
Not to mention, this was no faint trace of blood. It was heavy and oppressive—something that couldn't be caused by the death of just one or two people.
Under normal circumstances, Souta wouldn't have cared. After all, in the world of Naruto, wasn't death a common thing?
But this was different. The direction from which the smell came was precisely where Souta was heading.
"Something's happened in the village!"
When he thought of this possibility, Souta stopped walking leisurely.
The power of the wind spread throughout his body, blasting him quickly through the rainforest.
