Naruto: The Hyuga Mastermind

Chapter 108: Chapter 109

Chapter 109

The coffin lids creaked open, revealing multiple figures.

Each bore the headband of Uzushiogakure, their origins unmistakable.

Among the crowd, a few veteran shinobi—some from the same era as Tobirama Senju—recognized the technique and paled in horror. Even a few rogue Konoha shinobi hiding on the island immediately froze.

"Edo Tensei!"

The infamous jutsu of the Second Hokage, capable of resurrecting the dead and bending them to the user's will…

One particularly aged shinobi swallowed hard, glancing between the calm figure of Hyuga Fuji and the hooded Uzumaki Ashina standing silently behind him. Without hesitation, the old man turned and fled.

That man… it couldn't be anyone else. It had to be Uzumaki Ashina, the clan leader of Uzushio from decades ago—long thought dead!

And with Hyuga Fuji, master of the Flying Thunder God Technique, as his ally? There was no chance of victory.

The aged shinobi's mind raced. He had participated in the black market dealings during Uzushio's downfall. If Ashina caught him…

He didn't dare imagine the consequences.

"Advisor Fuji, does Konoha really intend to make an enemy of us? Surely, you understand the repercussions of killing us?"

A noble who had recognized the fleeing shinobi tried to suppress his rising panic. Despite his trembling hands, he forced a calm demeanor and addressed Hyuga Fuji:

"Our wealth rivals that of nations, and much of it circulates globally. If we die here, countless lives will be ruined—entire economies could collapse!"

Many of them weren't just black market dealers; they ran legitimate enterprises on the surface. If they were killed here, the resulting chaos in their businesses would affect tens of thousands, if not more.

Dark order is still order. Without us, the world will only plunge deeper into chaos!

Hyuga Fuji's voice was cold, devoid of emotion. "That's what the merchant guild is for. You came here to indulge yourselves, but I'm sure you've already made arrangements for your businesses. I'll take over everything during your absence."

The noble froze, his expression stiffening. His voice rose in anger. "This is too much! Are you trying to sever all ties with the shinobi world?!"

Hyuga Fuji's calm reply was a raised hand. The four shinobi behind him released waves of powerful chakra, signaling the end of negotiations.

"Take over everything? Just you?"

A shinobi, unable to bear the tension, acted on his master's signal. Using Body Flicker, he appeared at Haneda's side.

"Storm Release—"

Bang!

The Storm Release user was hurled into a rock wall by a forceful Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm, falling silent.

Behind Hyuga Fuji, Hyuga Meikyo retracted his hand, his cold gaze sweeping over the crowd.

"Second Mizukage, this one's yours," Hyuga instructed.

"Destroying this place? Seems pointless, don't you think?"

Hozuki Gengetsu, with his lack of eyebrows and signature mustache, observed the crowd with mild interest. "They can always rebuild it elsewhere."

"If it's pointless, would you rather not act?"

"I didn't say that," Gengetsu sighed, shrugging. "It's just that there aren't any real strong opponents here. If I could fight you afterward, then maybe…"

Before he could finish, Hyuga Fuji had already vanished.

"Ah," Gengetsu sighed again, running his fingers through his mustache. He spread his fingers apart and peeked through them at the people before him. "Fine. I'll sit this one out. You lot handle it."

But these opponents weren't worth his time.

The response was a feral roar.

Every Uzumaki shinobi summoned by Edo Tensei donned a blood-red chakra cloak resembling a tailed beast. Like wild beasts, they charged at the merchants and nobles, tearing them apart into mere fragments of flesh.

The noble and merchant who had planned to sell the two young Uzumaki girls were reduced to bloody pulp in an instant, their lives extinguished in sheer terror.

Witnessing this, Gengetsu stroked his mustache and murmured, "Artificial tailed beasts, huh? Interesting. And to think they used Edo Tensei shinobi as test subjects… Not a bad idea, actually."

Edo Tensei shinobi, immune to true death, were perfect for experimentation. They could endure the entire process, provide detailed feedback, and summarize any issues. Truly, it was a scientist's dream technique.

"This jutsu… It's wasted on battlefields. It's meant for research." Gengetsu chuckled. "Tobirama Senju should've been a researcher instead of a ninja."

In the gladiator arena, two shinobi clashed like streaks of lightning, each attack executed with deadly precision.

Around the arena, wealthy merchants in fine clothing watched with exhilarated expressions.

Some whispered about their bets, while others cheered loudly, basking in the intense atmosphere.

Above them, nobles sat in private viewing boxes, holding jade cups filled with wine. Through glass walls, they enjoyed the spectacle below, their lives of luxury reflected in the arena's opulence.

Sunlight streamed through the arena's glass dome, illuminating the meticulously designed seating and decor, making it all appear glamorous and refined.

Until a guard burst into the arena.

"Bad news! Konoha shinobi have broken in!"

"What?! Konoha dares—"

Boom!

A massive explosion erupted from above, a blinding white light enveloping the area, bringing death to all it touched.

Dozens of merchants collapsed, screaming in pain as parts of their bodies disintegrated under the Dust Release's devastating radiance.

The spectators froze, their eyes drawn upward to the figure hovering in the air.

Dust Release. An Iwagakure headband. Bandages wrapped around his face…

That was…?

"A Konoha shinobi?!"

"What are you waiting for? Kill him!"

The nobles in the private boxes grew pale as the shinobi's gaze swept over them. Remembering the fate of the others, one noble screamed in desperation:

"Don't just stand there! Attack!"

Guards and hired shinobi rushed toward the figure in the air. The shinobi didn't flinch.

"Dance of the Camellia!"

Countless sharp bone spikes erupted from the ground, transforming the arena into a forest of death. Those who charged forward were impaled, their screams of agony echoing through the arena.

Kaguya Yuko, his crimson eyes alight with excitement, dashed into the fray, beginning a blood-soaked rampage.

Unlike Gengetsu, Yuko wasn't picky about his opponents. While many weren't his equal one-on-one, their combined efforts provided just enough entertainment for him.

After all, this place was full of shinobi wielding rare bloodline abilities.

"What chaos," a tall man with sunglasses said with a faint smile, turning to Hyuga Fuji. "Aren't you worried about using Edo Tensei so openly? What if word spreads?"

Hyuga Fuji's voice was calm and steady. "Do you think anyone will leave here without my permission?"

"Not likely," the man admitted, glancing upward at the crimson barrier covering the sky. "To use the Four Red Yang Formation for this scum… Isn't that excessive?"

Even without the barrier, escaping the island was nearly impossible. It was far from the mainland, and without a ship or immense chakra reserves, survival was unthinkable.

The so-called paradise of indulgence had become a cage for its patrons.

Hyuga Fuji's gaze shifted past the man, landing on the curious girl peeking out from behind him. "A member of the Chinoike Clan?"

The girl tilted her head in confusion, her expression innocent.

"Chinoike? What's that? A pool of blood?"

En Oyashiro's expression darkened. He raised a hand, shielding the girl from Haneda's gaze.

"Chino is very precious to me. You—"

En's voice faltered as Hyuga Fuji placed a document on the table before him.

"Orochimaru speaks highly of you," Hyuga said with a faint smile. "So, he suggested I offer you a better deal. Sign it or don't—it's up to you."

"Orochimaru?"

En's eyes narrowed as he studied Hyuga Fuji. "It seems you know quite a bit about me."
