Naruto: The Tale of an Otsutsuki

Chapter 25: Chapter 25: Anxiety and Heart-to-heart Talk

"Kirito, I won't lose again today!" Rock Lee charged at Kirito with determination at the Konoha training ground. "Leaf Whirlwind!"

Kirito, unfazed, raised his leg in response. "Leaf Whirlwind!"

Their powerful kicks collided mid-air, the force scattering dust and fallen leaves around them.

"Ah..." TenTen sighed, watching the intense battle between the two.

"What's the matter, TenTen? Is it the struggles of youth?" Guy asked with genuine curiosity.

"...," TenTen didn't reply, her gaze fixed on the sparring duo.

Moments later, a loud cry rang out as Rock Lee was sent flying to the sidelines, unable to stand.

"That's it!" Guy exclaimed with enthusiasm.

"Lee, how many times do I have to tell you? You can't beat Kirito," TenTen said, half-complaining and half-disappointed as she looked at her fallen teammate. "After all... he's a genius."

"Come on, Sensei Guy!" Kirito stood upright, mimicking a fighting stance he had seen in his past life. His feet were together, one hand covering his cheek, and the other poised in front of him.

Seeing Kirito's stance, Guy's spirit ignited. "Hot-blooded youth!" He leaped into action with a booming cry, "Strong Leaf Whirlwind!"

Boom! Kirito countered fiercely, matching Guy's energy. Their intense sparring could be felt throughout the training grounds, prompting other nearby ninjas to vacate the area silently, afraid to interfere.

Kirito's progress in taijutsu had left Guy amazed. Apart from the Eight Gates Formation, there was little left for Guy to teach him. To further refine Kirito's skills, Guy implemented rigorous sparring sessions to integrate Kirito's growing arsenal of techniques.

"This boy... such raw talent," Guy thought mid-battle. "The Third Hokage really sent me a prodigy."

As night fell, their session concluded with Guy exhausted.

Later, at Ichiraku Ramen, Kirito and TenTen sat together, placing their orders. Kirito had invited TenTen for a meal after their training, enticing her with an offer to share untold stories about Lady Tsunade. Curious, TenTen had reluctantly agreed.

As they waited for their ramen, Kirito broke the silence. "TenTen, you seemed down today. Is it about Tsunade?"

"Yeah." TenTen hesitated but then confessed, "I've realized I lack the talent to become a great kunoichi like Lady Tsunade."

Kirito tilted his head. "Do you want to become a great kunoichi, or do you want to become Tsunade?"

"Is there a difference?" TenTen asked, puzzled.

"Of course," Kirito replied. "There's only one Tsunade—granddaughter of the First Hokage, Sannin, and Slug Princess. Anyone trying to imitate her is just that—an imitation."

"…"

"But think about this," Kirito continued, "just because you lack her exact talents doesn't mean you can't become a great kunoichi in your own right. Haven't you already demonstrated your own unique abilities recently?"

"You mean my skill with space-time ninjutsu?" TenTen asked, her curiosity piqued.

At that moment, Ayame brought their bowls of ramen. Kirito picked up his chopsticks and nodded. "Space-time ninjutsu is incredibly rare and powerful. Look at the Fourth Hokage—his mastery of the Flying Thunder God technique turned the tide of the Third Ninja War and earned him the Hokage title."

He paused to take a sip of the broth. "You don't have to master Flying Thunder God right away, but that skill alone shows you have immense potential. Kai-sensei might even request Hokage's permission to teach it to you someday."

TenTen brightened but then frowned. "Still, where would I even start?"

Kirito smiled. "You already have a knack for tools and strategy. You could refine techniques like the Second Hokage's Forbidden Jutsu: Mutual Explosive Tag. It's dangerous, sure, but with your precision, you could develop variations tailored to your skills—perhaps Mutually Explosive Shuriken or Kunai."

TenTen's eyes lit up. "That... sounds amazing!"

Kirito chuckled. "And if you want to aim higher, consider legendary tools like the Sage of Six Paths' ninja tools. They're powerful, but mastering them requires immense chakra and control. You'd need to train hard, but they could set you apart as a truly legendary kunoichi."

TenTen, feeling inspired, nodded vigorously. "I'll work hard!"

As they left Ichiraku Ramen, Kirito turned to TenTen. "One last thing—about Tsunade's 'legendary' title in gambling. It's not because of her skill. In fact, her luck is notoriously bad. That's why she's called the 'Legendary Sucker' in gambling circles."

TenTen gaped. "Really?"

"Yup," Kirito said with a grin. "You can ask her someday if you don't believe me."

When they reached TenTen's house, Kirito gave her a parting piece of advice. "A genius who doesn't work hard becomes ordinary. Hard work, in the right direction, will always pay off."

"Thanks, Kirito. I feel much better now," TenTen said with a smile. "Goodnight!"

"Goodnight!"

As Kirito walked to Konoha Hospital for his evening medical training, he chuckled to himself, rubbing Little Leopard absentmindedly.

"First solo dinner with a girl," he muttered. "It's exciting but nerve-wracking… Still, I hope TenTen grows strong enough to make that Temari fight a real challenge."

With his mind buzzing with thoughts, Kirito entered the hospital to begin his nightly practice.
