Naruto: The Tale of an Otsutsuki

Kirito could tell that Sasuke had questions he wanted to ask but avoided addressing them directly. To shift Sasuke's focus, he brought up Boruto's Karma mark, steering the conversation away from himself.

Seeing Sasuke hesitate, Kirito said, "I know you have a lot of questions, but there's much I don't fully understand myself. What I can tell you is this: Naruto and the others are my allies. I would never harm them or put them in danger."

Faced with Kirito's firm stance, Sasuke could only nod and reply, "Alright, I'll trust you for now."

Kirito's overwhelming power and his battle with Urashiki had convinced Sasuke that if Kirito wanted to harm Naruto or the village, he could have done so long ago. Though Sasuke decided to trust Kirito, his sense of responsibility for Naruto and the village lingered.

Sasuke had already confirmed that this "past" timeline wasn't the same as his own. Even if this world were destroyed, it wouldn't directly affect his future. But his feelings for Naruto and Konoha compelled him to try to mitigate any potential danger Kirito might pose. Ultimately, however, Sasuke realized that any threat from Kirito would have to be dealt with by this world's people.

As Sasuke watched Boruto staring at his palm, lost in thought, he concluded that the priority was to return to their future. Naruto and the village's strength would be crucial in helping Boruto resist the progression of the Karma mark.

"You've asked so many questions; now it's my turn," Kirito said, breaking the silence. "How did you get here?"

Sasuke explained, "In the future, an Otsutsuki attacked Naruto. He intended to target Naruto's younger self to disrupt the timeline. Boruto and I discovered his plan and came here to stop him."

Boruto pulled out a small, turtle-shaped device from his backpack. "We used this 'Kara Device' to travel to the past, but it seems to be broken now."

"That's an Otsutsuki treasure," Kirito remarked after inspecting it. "It can only be activated by someone with Otsutsuki chakra. Since it's depleted, it has entered a dormant state. If you want to return, I can replenish its chakra."

"Really? That's great!" Boruto exclaimed. "But… can we wait until tomorrow? I'd like to say goodbye to my dad… Naruto."

"That's fine. The danger is over now, so take your time and enjoy the village," Kirito replied, handing the device back. He had no intention of keeping it, respecting the trust he'd worked to build.

In Urashiki's memory, the Kara Device was lost in some underwater ruins. I'll have to investigate that later, Kirito thought.

The three then turned their attention to cleaning the battlefield. Kirito deactivated the Rinnegan on his forehead and picked up the red fishing rod Urashiki had left behind. After absorbing the knowledge from Urashiki's memories, Kirito had learned how to recreate similar tools, crafted through chakra manipulation with Yin-Yang Release.

Like the black rods that transmitted chakra, this fishing rod had the ability to extract chakra from living beings. It even had a matching "basket" for storing chakra.

Otsutsuki weapons are truly unique. Being a fisherman doesn't sound too bad, Kirito mused as he tested the rod's balance.

While Kirito and Boruto worked, Jiraiya arrived with an Anbu team.

"Where's the enemy?" Jiraiya asked, scanning the area. Seeing the three standing calmly, he relaxed.

"It's been resolved," Kirito said, holding up the fishing rod. "This is a trophy."

"I see…" Jiraiya wasn't surprised. He had sensed the strength of Boruto and Sasuke, and Kirito's power was undeniable. Together, it was no shock that they had defeated the enemy.

Satisfied, Jiraiya led the group back to the village. Boruto, eager to say goodbye to Naruto, headed straight for his dormitory. However, he was stopped at the door.

Inside, Shikamaru and others had gathered to protect Naruto after hearing about the danger. Many clans had learned of a potential threat targeting Naruto, the Nine Tails' Jinchuriki, and had mobilized to safeguard him.

Naruto, who had been clamoring to join the fight, was reluctantly staying put thanks to their efforts. When he saw Boruto safe outside the door, his face lit up with relief.

"Boruto! You're okay!" Naruto exclaimed happily.

"I'm fine," Boruto replied with a smile. "The bad guy after you has been defeated. You won't have to worry about him anymore."

"That's great…" Naruto sighed in relief, then looked downcast. "But it's because I'm too weak. If I were stronger, none of this would've happened."

"No, you'll definitely become the strongest Hokage in the future!" Boruto said firmly, placing a hand on Naruto's shoulder.

"Thank you, Boruto!" Naruto said, clenching his fists in determination. "I'll work even harder to make sure this never happens again."

Shikamaru, representing the other young shinobi who had gathered, lazily said, "If Naruto's fine, we'll take our leave."

"Thanks, everyone!" Naruto said gratefully as Shikamaru and the others departed.

Turning to Naruto, Boruto said, "We're heading back too."

"What? So soon? Don't you want to stay a little longer?" Naruto asked, startled.

Boruto hesitated, then replied, "There's still a lot we need to do."

He wanted to stay, but Kirito's warnings about the Karma mark made him feel like time was slipping away. He needed to focus on what lay ahead, despite wanting to spend more time in this era.

"I see…" Naruto said, his voice heavy with disappointment. "Wait here for a moment!"

Naruto disappeared into the kitchen, and after some clattering noises, he returned with a large bag.

"This is a little something from me," Naruto said, placing the bag in front of Boruto. "I wanted to treat everyone to a meal, but since there's no time, this will have to do. Be careful on your journey, and don't let your parents worry."

"Thanks, Naruto," Boruto said, his voice tinged with emotion.

"It's a shame. I don't know when we'll meet again," Naruto said quietly.

"We'll meet again when you become Hokage," Boruto replied with a confident smile.
