Chapter 151: KuraYami
Uzushiogakure
In a room shrouded in oppressive darkness, a faint light emanating from an unknown device partially illuminated the eerie atmosphere. At its center, a silhouette sat on a chair, its sober yet imposing appearance, with its straight and sharp lines suggesting an extraordinary precision in its craftsmanship. Behind a Shinigami mask, which completely concealed its face, two eternal Mangekyo Sharingan glowed with an otherworldly intensity, their complex and enchanting patterns hypnotizing anyone who dared to look directly into them.
The silhouette wore a form-fitting black outfit that clung to the curves of its body, revealing a slender yet powerful musculature. A black cape, trimmed with a slightly shimmering fabric, rested on its shoulders, adding to its aura of mystery. The cape's edges blended into the shadows of the room, giving the impression that it was one with the darkness.
It fixed its gaze intensely on the void, but behind that vacant look, it utilized one of its special powers from its Sharingan. Its left Sharingan was connected to a series of others, scattered across the world, and it could see everything they saw. And at that very moment, it observed a titanic battle unfolding: Itachi and Sasuke, merging their perfect Susanoo, faced off against Madara, the Jinchūriki of the Juubi.
A subtle smile, almost imperceptible, brushed across its lips.
"So, you really did it..." it murmured, its soft, almost caressing voice resonating in the silence.
It turned its gaze towards a corner of the room where a large glass tube stood, illuminated by a green light. Inside, an inanimate silhouette floated in a viscous liquid, with cables and medical devices attached to its body. It observed it for a moment, deep in thought, before a voice broke its moment of respite.
"Uchiha!"
The voice, metallic and commanding, echoed through a microphone installed in the room.
"I'm coming..." it replied calmly, rising with an almost supernatural fluidity.
The sliding door opened silently, revealing a corridor bathed in blindingly white, immaculate, and oppressive light. The brightness seemed almost unreal, sharply contrasting with the darkness of the chamber.
It walked down the corridor, its footsteps echoing softly on the smooth floor, before opening another door.
Inside, a dozen silhouettes were already present. They all wore the same form-fitting black outfits, with dark capes and Shinigami masks concealing their identities.
At the center of the room, two tables were arranged, each holding a body. One was Kakashi Hatake, supposed to be dead, and the other was Temari, a recognized kunoichi, also declared dead in combat while fighting her deceased father, who had been revived through Edo Tensei.
A man, standing near Kakashi, held a gigantic needle. With a precise and unwavering gesture, he plunged the needle directly into Kakashi's forehead. Then, he performed a series of complex mudras.
A woman, standing by his side, observed the scene with a skeptical expression before speaking up.
"Are you sure this will work, Snake Sage?" she asked, crossing her arms.
The man, with his sinister aura, responded with a cold, mocking laugh.
"Kukuku... Don't worry, Slug Sage. With my skills, he will have Obito's Mangekyo Sharingan permanently. You should be more concerned about this kunoichi."
He turned a mocking gaze towards Temari's lifeless body.
The Slug Sage furrowed her eyebrows slightly, her instinct telling her that she had crossed paths with this Snake Sage before, but she couldn't place his identity. She had even seen his face once by chance, and it was completely unfamiliar.
"Transferring Chōmei's chakra into a human body is not difficult," she replied coldly. "Her affinity is at 80%, she will probably wake up in a few years."
A murmur of approval rippled through the room, but another female voice, coming from a dark corner, interjected.
"Anyway, we must wait for the KageYami's approval before sending them back to their respective villages."
Everyone turned towards the silhouette, but it showed no sign of emotion.
Another man, sitting with his arms crossed, added in a grave voice,
"More importantly... Who will bring Kaguya Otsutsuki back here? The KageYami is still unconscious."
A heavy silence followed this statement. Then, a confident voice broke the tense atmosphere.
"I don't mind. I need to test my strength against these powerful beings the KageYami has described."
Another masked member, a blonde woman with a square haircut, stood up.
"I'm coming too."
The Uchiha, who had been silent until now, nodded slightly in acceptance.
"Then the Uchiha and the Hyūga will be in charge of bringing Kaguya, willingly or by force."
"Alright."
Without hesitation, the two disappeared from the room, teleported by a masked man known as the Toad Sage.
Once they were gone, the Slug Sage turned her attention to the Snake Sage.
"You're playing a dangerous game..." she murmured, her tone icy.
The Snake Sage replied with his eternal smirk.
"All great endeavors require some sacrifices, don't you think? And besides, the KageYami had already given me his approval when he was still conscious."
The Slug Sage remained silent, her thoughts turning to the Uchiha who had just left the room. She wondered what this woman, with her impressive powers and opaque intentions, truly sought to achieve. It wasn't just her; everyone there had their own agenda. She had come to accompany Shikai, but the objectives were becoming increasingly blurred. In the end, she could only wait for their explanations.
In this laboratory, where unconfessed plans were taking shape, one thing was certain: the future of the shinobi world rested in the hands of these masked individuals, and their loyalty to the KageYami was as inscrutable as the other forces moving within the Otsutsuki dimension at that very moment.
