Naruto :Uchiha's Reincarnation

Chapter 47: Chapter 47: Rasa and Karura

"This... I feel a bit ashamed. Senior Kosuke is so kind, though. I just hope that in the future, I won't disgrace the reputation of the ninjutsu he's taught me!"

Haruto's face lit up with joy as he eagerly stepped forward to assist Maruhoshi Kosuke.

Inuzuka Ryo, watching this exchange, couldn't help but want to complain internally.

I've never seen such a shameless Uchiha like Haruto before.

"Hmph, kid, you better focus on surviving the battlefield tomorrow. Even if I teach you, it'll mean nothing if you don't make it out alive."

Kosuke's words were stern, yet after their meal, he still decided to teach Haruto a sword technique that incorporated illusion.

The technique, called Konoha-style Swordsmanship: Flow, was a unique blend of swordsmanship and genjutsu. As an Uchiha, Haruto was naturally skilled in genjutsu, so this combination fit him perfectly.

When using this technique, the user's movements appeared to blur and shift in the enemy's vision, like leaves swirling in the wind. As they swung their sword, it would seem as though multiple strikes were happening at once, concealing the true deadly blow among the illusions.

Though described as a single technique, Konoha-ryu Swordsmanship: Flow was more of a style, a method of integrating genjutsu into swordsmanship. It could be applied to various sword moves, making it a versatile and powerful technique.

Maruhoshi Kosuke had clearly thought carefully about what he taught Haruto, understanding the boy's strengths.

Thanks to his Sharingan and natural aptitude with the sword, Haruto picked up the basics of the technique in just one afternoon, impressing even Kosuke. However, mastering the technique and using it effectively in combat would require further training.

After the meal and the lesson, the day drew to a close.

The next day, the rain still fell heavily. The endless downpour added a somber atmosphere to the impending battle.

On a high plain, Orochimaru stood, his kimono soaked, his tongue slipping out to lick his lips as he stared at the distant Sunagakure camp.

Beside him were Jiraiya, Tsunade, Kato Dan, and Kimu Kato, all prepared for the coming confrontation.

Jiraiya had only returned yesterday. He had been off in the Land of Rain, having taken on three students. He hadn't returned to Konoha's camp right away, using the excuse of gathering intelligence. Orochimaru, his lifelong comrade, had covered for him.

Behind them, more than four thousand Konoha shinobi were assembled, their formations tight and disciplined.

Kato's team, including Haruto and his comrades, stood among the reserve troops near the rear.

Across the field, in the Sunagakure camp, the shinobi of Sand, led by Chiyo, were similarly gathered.

Beside Chiyo stood a young, red-haired shinobi, and a kunoichi with short blonde hair and a massive fan strapped to her back.

While Konoha was waging war on three fronts, Sunagakure was also fighting two battles.

On one side, they had sent troops north to the Land of Rain, under the command of Chiyo, their top puppet master. Taking control of the Rain would ease Sunagakure's struggles with water scarcity. On the other side, the Third Kazekage had personally led an expedition east into the Land of Fire, hoping to claim a portion of its fertile lands.

Recently, Orochimaru had been gathering forces to launch a decisive attack. Naturally, Sunagakure had noticed, and while they were consolidating their own troops, they were also on high alert.

However, Chiyo had not expected Orochimaru to make such a bold move and attack their camp directly.

Should she retreat and deny Orochimaru his victory? No leader with any sense would make such a move. Evacuating so many people in such a short time was not feasible, and retreating before even engaging with Konoha would deal a severe blow to the morale of her forces. That was something Chiyo simply could not allow.

Besides, Chiyo had a personal vendetta against Konoha. Her son and daughter-in-law had been killed by Konoha's White Fang, Hatake Sakumo.

Though Sakumo was not currently on the Rain Country battlefield—he was busy leading Konoha's defense against the Third Kazekage in the Land of Rivers—Chiyo still saw this as an opportunity to exact some form of revenge.

"Prepare to move. I'll deal with the high-ranking officers of Sunagakure. The command of the troops will be in your hands."

Orochimaru addressed the man next to him, an older shinobi with his hair styled into a pineapple shape.

This man was the head of the Nara clan, known for his strategic brilliance. His son, Nara Shikaku, had recently become a Jonin. If the legendary Sannin were Konoha's strongest fighters, then the Nara clan head was Konoha's most skilled tactician, the brains behind the operations.

Haruto and his teammates stood in the middle of the reserve troops, observing the scene. Without using his Sharingan, Haruto's visibility was limited in such a large, crowded area. Luckily, his teammates, both skilled perception ninjas, quickly informed him of any changes on the battlefield.

"It's starting."

Aburame Nami quietly noted, pinching a small insect that had just returned from scouting the enemy lines.

Moments later, the order came for the reserve troops to stand by, while the vanguard prepared to attack.

At the heart of Konoha's camp, the Nara clan head stood, next to the old Yamanaka clan head, who was using his sensory abilities to keep track of the battlefield's shifting tides. Through the Yamanaka clan's telepathic techniques, he relayed this information to the Nara clan head, who then issued the appropriate commands.

Around them, an elite team of special jonin stood guard, ready to protect their leaders.

"Earth Release unit, prepare to destroy Sunagakure's front fortifications!"

The Nara head's voice rang out, calm and decisive.

Immediately, the Earth Release unit, led by Jiraiya, stepped forward. Each member slammed their hands onto the ground simultaneously.

"Earth Release: Earth Flow River!" they shouted in unison.

In an instant, the ground before them liquefied, turning into a massive river of mud, surging toward Sunagakure's fortifications.

The earthen defenses crumbled under the relentless flow, but the river continued, rushing toward the Sand shinobi.

At that moment, two enormous walls of gold and sand rose from the ground, halting the river's advance.

From the safety of Sunagakure's camp, Rasa and Karura exchanged confident smiles.

Watching the scene unfold, Chiyo was reminded of her late son and daughter-in-law. Yet, there was no time for reflection—Konoha's next move had already begun under the Nara leader's precise command.
