Naruto: Uchiha's Resolve

Chapter 24: Chapter:24

In any world, where people gather, the art of survival lies not only in strength but in relationships and wisdom. The ninja world is no exception.

For what do people struggle?

Simply put—money.

Ninjas take on deadly missions and face untold dangers just to earn a living, hoping for a life of some comfort. Yet, amidst the chaos of Konoha, one fact has become painfully clear: Konoha is out of money.

And without funds, there's no way to sustain an army, let alone win a war. If they had enough resources, Konoha's shinobi could overwhelm even the strongest adversaries, bombarding them with detonating tags. But such fantasies are far from reality.

Uchiha Hirito leaned back in his chair, eyeing the luxurious spread on the table before him—lavish dishes that carried a whiff of opulence in every bite. This banquet, held in the most extravagant hotel in Konoha, was meant to impress an important guest of the Uchiha.

The meal alone cost over 30,000 ryō—a shocking figure for a mere dinner. If Hirito had to pay out of pocket, it would make him grimace. Thankfully, this was Uchiha business, and the clan was footing the bill.

"The guest you'll meet today is Fujii Hiroki. His family owns a vast iron mine in the Land of Fire and supplies our weapons industry with iron," explained Uchiha Tomita, who had accompanied Hirito as a mentor for this meeting. "Fujii Hiroki has connections with officials in the Fire Nation, and we've maintained good relations with him over the years."

Tomita had taken it upon himself to educate Hirito in the nuances of leadership, particularly in dealing with the Fire Nation's noble families. As a clan leader, Hirito's responsibilities extended far beyond battle; he now represented the face of the Uchiha in the political landscape.

With Hirito's reputation for impulsive decisions, Tomita had insisted on attending the dinner. Memories of Hirito's explosive Dissolution Release resurfaced, and Tomita couldn't shake the image of his young leader throwing the powerful ninjutsu into a crowd of his own people.

Just as Tomita finished his introduction, the door creaked open, and in walked Fujii Hiroki—a plump, middle-aged man clad in richly adorned clothing that spoke of his wealth and status.

"Tomita! It's been too long!" Fujii greeted, extending his hand with a jovial smile.

Tomita shook his hand and introduced Hirito as the new clan leader. Fujii's eyes gleamed with curiosity, sizing up Hirito before offering a warm handshake.

Hirito, drawing on his experience from a previous life as a salesperson, effortlessly engaged Fujii in conversation. He was familiar with the art of flattery, understanding how to tailor his words to make his guest feel important and respected.

As the evening progressed, Hirito's charisma shone, guiding the conversation while subtly praising Fujii's contributions. Tomita, watching from the sidelines, could only marvel at Hirito's smoothness, impressed by his skillful handling of the guest.

When Fujii brought up the outstanding debt, Hirito's tone shifted to one of sincerity. He shared tales of the clan's recent hardships, explaining that the Uchiha had faced significant sacrifices. Tomita could barely contain his surprise as Hirito wove an elaborate tale of misfortune.

As for the debt, Hirito assured him that the clan had every intention of repaying as soon as the funds arrived. For now, all he asked was a bit more patience.

Fujii was pacified, and Hirito seized the opportunity to toast his guest, steering the conversation back to lighter topics. By now, he and Tomita were taking turns encouraging Fujii to drink, slipping in jokes, and chatting about shared interests.

With Hirito's friendly persuasion, Fujii soon found himself drinking one cup after another, eventually declaring that he would cover the Uchiha's supplies for another month, free of charge. Tomita, taking no chances, quickly produced paper and pen, securing Fujii's agreement in writing.

Meanwhile, in another part of Konoha, Sarutobi Hiruzen and Shimura Danzo strolled the quiet streets. After surviving the battlefield and facing Uzumaki Mito, they had decided to take a moment to relax and discuss the future.

Hiruzen, with the weight of Tobirama's endorsement behind him, was on the brink of becoming the Third Hokage. Danzo, however, felt a complex mix of pride and envy. He could not help but wonder, had he been quicker to act, would he have been in Hiruzen's place?

For now, he buried these feelings, focusing on supporting Hiruzen's bid for Hokage.
