Kyuubi didn't think Naruto could leave Konoha, but that didn't stop it from imagining the possibility.
As a tailed beast sensitive to good and evil, the Nine-Tails loathed cities full of complex emotions. The pervasive malice in Konoha exhausted it.
"If there's ever a chance to leave with this brat, it wouldn't be such a bad idea," Kyuubi thought.
But could a tailed beast truly attain freedom? Even the Nine-Tails wasn't sure.

Early Morning Practice
The next morning, Naruto headed to a secluded woodland in the village, carrying a scroll of Wind Release techniques. After reading the scrolls, he formed hand seals and summoned five or six shadow clones.
Ninjutsu, unlike taijutsu, benefited greatly from the Shadow Clone Technique to accelerate training. Once a clone dispersed, its experiences and fatigue transferred back to the original body. Thanks to the Uzumaki clan's robust chakra reserves, Naruto could afford this method, a luxury beyond most ninjas.
While his clones practiced Wind Release ninjutsu, Naruto himself focused on mastering the Rasengan. This advanced technique, known as the "spiral sphere," was a powerful skill he remembered from stories about the Fourth Hokage.
The first stage required him to stabilize chakra in his palm. The second stage involved using that chakra to burst a water-filled balloon. After multiple failed attempts, Naruto grew frustrated. Despite having better chakra control than his peers, he still lacked the finesse and experience necessary for success.
Nearby, his shadow clones unleashed various Wind Release techniques on the surrounding trees. One clone's attack, Great Breakthrough, severed a tree trunk cleanly in half. Observing their progress, Naruto realized the value of diversity in training.
When the clones dispersed, their combined experience returned to him. Sitting cross-legged, Naruto closed his eyes, processed the insights, and then refocused on the balloon. Moments later, the water burst in his hands.
"Got it!" Naruto exclaimed.
He realized that practicing different techniques helped him understand chakra flow more deeply. With renewed determination, he aimed to complete the Rasengan within the week.

A Week Later
A week passed, and Naruto stood in the same clearing, a swirling ball of chakra in his hands.
"Rasengan!"
With a shout, he slammed it into a tree. The resulting explosion carved a semicircular crater in the trunk.
Although thrilled by his progress, Naruto winced at the ache in his palm—a reminder of the Rasengan's physical toll. But the technique's versatility made it worthwhile, and he looked forward to developing stronger variations in the future.
Kyuubi, unimpressed, commented, "It's just a poor imitation of the Tailed Beast Bomb. Clumsy, weak, and unimpressive. One Tailed Beast Bomb could level an entire mountain."
Naruto smirked. "Sure, but you're still stuck in a cage, old fox."
The Nine-Tails huffed but let the insult slide, instead asking, "Aren't you worried the Hokage will fear your power?"
Naruto laughed. "My strength? Feared by the old man? Not yet."
Still, Kyuubi's comment lingered in his mind. He knew his progress was significant—his chakra reserves now rivaled 1% of Kyuubi's. While he could easily handle most genin and chunin, jonin-level opponents were still out of reach.
Aware of Anbu surveillance, Naruto made sure to showcase talent without appearing threatening. As long as his bond with Kyuubi remained hidden, the Hokage wouldn't view him as a danger.

The Streets of Konoha
On his way home, Naruto walked confidently through the village, ignoring the hostile stares from the villagers. He had long stopped caring about their opinions.
Suddenly, he noticed the malice directed at him diminish. Curious, he glanced ahead to see members of the Uchiha police force enforcing the law. The villagers, resentful of the Uchihas' strict methods, glared at them with hostility.
Naruto sighed. "The Uchihas are as unpopular as ever."
Nearby, Uchiha Sasuke and his older brother, Itachi, watched the scene. Sasuke admired the police force with wide-eyed enthusiasm, while Itachi frowned, his gaze lingering on Naruto.

Sasuke and Itachi
"Did you have fun today, Sasuke?" Itachi asked, turning to his younger brother.
"Yes! As long as I'm with you, I'm happy. Can we go out again tomorrow? I want to practice my shuriken skills with you!"
Itachi shook his head. "I have a mission tomorrow."
Sasuke pouted. "Why not join the police force, nii-san? Then you'd have more time for me!"
Itachi smiled sadly. He wanted nothing more than a peaceful life, but the clan's arrogance and prejudices made that impossible. To protect Sasuke and the village, he had no choice but to serve in Anbu.
