Chapter 457: Chapter 457: A Clue Points to Yuyin Village!
After completing the training, Reiki went on to treat the injuries of the others.
Shisui approached Hatake Sakumo to seek advice on his swordsmanship.
"Uncle Sakumo, you're also planning to join the special training camp, right?" Shisui asked, curious.
"What's your plan for that?"
Reiki, while treating Kakashi and the others, asked with a smile.
"How to handle it?" Sakumo replied nonchalantly. "Training is good for real combat situations. Besides, we have a stable environment. If you want to apply pressure on them, just push them hard. It's all about how much they can learn from various techniques. And with your medical team around, I'm not worried about them getting seriously hurt."
Reiki raised an eyebrow. "Huh... Sakumo-sama, if you go too hard, won't the other village instructors be upset? Won't they try to take better care of their ninjas during the training?"
Shisui, who was listening, asked with curiosity. He knew this idea was simple, but could easily cause some friction with other villages.
Sakumo shook his head slightly. "Why should I care? This is special training, not a vacation. You and Nozuki are both talented. This is an opportunity for you to improve quickly. Special training isn't about taking it easy."
Shisui nodded thoughtfully. "I see... But, should we begin the training now? Recently, there seems to be some unrest outside the village. Has Sakumo-sama received any missions?"
"Unrest?" Sakumo repeated. "Yes. The ninjas sent by Yunyin Village and Yanyin Village to the special training camp were attacked. As of now, we have no idea who did it. Lord Hokage has dispatched teams to investigate, but we've received no updates yet."
Reiki, overhearing, also became intrigued. "Attacked during special training? Could it be that the other villages didn't respond well to this?"
Logically speaking, the villages should be taking their own ninjas' training seriously, especially sending them to a special training camp. It seemed unusual that something like this could happen.
"They've only sent us a notice, asking Konoha to explain," Sakumo said. "There have been no other actions, at least not yet. I know what you're thinking... but you're still too young to understand."
Reiki narrowed his eyes. "What do you mean?"
Sakumo sighed. "These villages won't send their top geniuses here, so now they're applying pressure on Konoha. To them, it's just a loss of some unimportant people... You shouldn't be too concerned about it."
Meanwhile, Kirigakure and Sunagakure were taking the situation seriously. Both villages had sent their leaders personally to oversee their ninjas' training. Their presence in the special training camp kept things peaceful on their end.
"Understood," Reiki said, resuming his treatment. He believed it was likely that the shell organization was behind the attack, and under such circumstances, he saw no reason to get involved any further.
At the Hokage office, an ANBU operative arrived with new information.
"Hokage-sama, the first group of ninjas sent to investigate has returned."
Namikaze Minato took the scroll handed to him, his brow furrowing as he read the contents. "Amegakure?" he murmured, surprised. "How is this related to Yuyin Village?"
The alliance between Konoha and Amegakure had been long-standing and harmonious, making this information even more puzzling.
"Send for Tsunade-sama," Minato ordered, his voice steady but serious.
Soon, Tsunade arrived in the Hokage office.
"Yondaime, you called for me?" Tsunade asked, raising an eyebrow in curiosity. She had not expected to be summoned by Minato so urgently.
"Here," Minato said, handing her the scroll. "This is the information sent back by the investigation team."
Tsunade opened the scroll as she asked, "Is this about the attack on Yunyin and Yanyin's special training teams?"
"Yes," Minato confirmed. "The investigation has pointed to... Yuyin Village."
Tsunade frowned as she read through the scroll's details. "So it's possible that Yuyin Village was behind it? But why?"
She could see that the evidence indeed pointed to Yuyin Village, but the motive was unclear.
Minato hesitated for a moment before speaking. "That's what I'm hoping you can help with. I need you to go to the Land of Rain and investigate further."
Tsunade nodded thoughtfully. "Understood. But let Jiraiya come with me."
Minato's eyes narrowed. "Jiraiya?"
"Yes," Tsunade continued, "Jiraiya trained Yahiko, the leader of the Akatsuki organization in the Land of Rain. He's now the special operations captain of Yuyin Village. Jiraiya and Yahiko are... well, they're practically classmates, so it should be easier for them to work together."
"That makes sense," Minato agreed. "I'll feel more at ease with Jiraiya going with you. I trust his judgment."
Tsunade agreed and left to notify Jiraiya. She had her own mission to attend to, and with the special training camp coming up, she also wanted to discuss the distribution of medical supplies with Reiki.
In the meantime, Reiki had returned to his courtyard, where Shisui and Nozuki were also present.
After Tsunade shared the news about the investigation pointing to Yuyin Village, Reiki was stunned.
"Yuyin Village?" Reiki repeated, looking surprised. "But why would they target the special training teams?"
"Ah, I'm going too," Reiki declared suddenly, cutting Tsunade off.
Tsunade blinked in surprise. "You? Why?"
"I need to see this for myself," Reiki said with determination. "This concerns more than just special training—it's about the security of our village."
With that, Reiki decided to accompany Tsunade and Jiraiya on the mission, eager to uncover the truth behind the mysterious attack.
