Chapter 460: Chapter 460: Arrival, The Truth is Revealed!
Soon, under the guidance of Chomei, the Six-tails understood the truth. However, he didn't feel angry. He knew that when Reiki spoke about empathizing with the tailed beasts, it wasn't something fabricated.
A person's emotions cannot be faked.
Even without considering the Nine-Tails, the fact that Reiki had managed to gain the trust of these two irritable beasts, Ichibi and the others, was enough to show that Reiki was someone reliable.
The nine tailed beasts, meeting once again in Reiki's body, now had a shared understanding.
Back in the outside world:
"Master Bubble, I've completed the treatment for the issues in your body," Reiki said with a smile. "I've also treated the Six-Tailed Rhinoceros."
"You can feel your body now."
The system prompt had sounded again, indicating that Reiki had received rewards related to the tailed beasts, just as he had before. However, Reiki wasn't ready to use these rewards yet. His body still wasn't strong enough to handle them, so he planned to practice for a while before putting them to use.
Bubble, feeling the changes, responded, "Thanks to Reiki, I can already feel my body relaxing a lot. The movement of chakra in my meridians feels much smoother."
As Bubble was about to express his gratitude properly, he noticed Reiki's forced smile. It was clear that the treatment had taken a toll on him. But just as Bubble opened his mouth to speak, Reiki suddenly left. He didn't even look back, vanishing without a word.
"He probably still has a mission to attend to," Yagura said. "I sense Tsunade and Jiraiya are waiting for him outside."
"Alright, this is Reiki's mission. We don't need to worry about it."
Yagura looked pleased. Not only had Reiki healed Bubble, but his reasoning and words had also made Bubble rethink his views. Perhaps he didn't need to stay here much longer—he could head back to Kirigakure to deal with matters there.
Bubble nodded, but as he thought about it, he couldn't help but feel a sense of envy and admiration for Reiki's open-mindedness. Despite being misunderstood by others, Reiki never let it affect him. He simply followed the path he believed in.
"Reiki is a true ninja," Bubble thought. "I'll make him my benchmark in the future."
Of course, this was something Reiki would never know.
Later, Reiki had achieved his goal in the Land of Rain and departed with Tsunade, Jiraiya, and the others. Now that the three of them had the strength of jōnin, with Jiraiya and Tsunade being quasi-Kage-level, they reached the junction of the Kingdom of Fire, the Kingdom of Grass, and the Kingdom of Rain in just one day.
As soon as they arrived, two teams appeared before them.
"Master Jiraiya! Master Tsunade!" one of them called.
"Why are you two so seriously injured?" Jiraiya asked, surprised. "The attackers are from Cloud Village?"
He looked at Akimichi Dingza and Inuzuka Kiba. These two were elite jōnin, well-known for their strength, yet they were seriously injured.
"Isn't now the time to ask about that?" Dingza said, his face pale but determined. "Sit down first, and let me treat you."
"I'll treat them, you keep asking questions," Reiki said, stepping forward to begin treating the injured.
Shisui and Nozuki exchanged a glance, a little embarrassed. Couldn't he wait until after the treatment?
Tsunade nodded. "Yes, it's more important to treat the injuries first. We'll discuss things afterward."
"They're not from Yuyin Village," Dingza said with a serious expression. "But they're definitely connected. We asked Hanzo for help, but we didn't receive any response. And none of the other villages reacted either. The attack happened so close to the Land of Rain, and yet... nothing. This indicates something isn't right."
Dingza's conclusion was clear: Yuyin Village had to be involved in this incident, but it wasn't clear whether there were other parties behind it. The current political situation in the ninja world was fragile, and alliances were shifting constantly.
Tsunade, now understanding the gravity of the situation, asked, "The ninja who fought you... Do you know what they were like?"
"They were... strange," Dingza replied. "I can't say for sure what kind of ninjas they were."
"Give me a portrait," Tsunade said quickly.
Choji stretched out his hand to a ninja standing behind him, who handed over a scroll containing the portraits of the attackers.
Tsunade's eyes widened as she studied the portraits. "I knew it..." she murmured. "A shell organization."
"Before, I thought the Shell Organization was a minor headache. But now, with Yuyin Village possibly involved, this is bad news."
Tsunade turned to Jiraiya. "Contact Yahiko and the others. It's better if we understand the situation without alarming Hanzo. This will give us time to prepare."
"Understood," Jiraiya replied, nodding. He summoned several frogs and sent them toward the Land of Rain to inform Yahiko's group.
As Reiki finished treating Dingza and the others, the group gathered to discuss the next steps.
Tsunade spoke first, "If what happened this time is truly the work of Amegakure, do we want to go to war with them?"
Inuzuka Kiba, unable to hold back, spoke up. "A betrayal like this can't be tolerated! If we let it slide once, there will be a second and third time. We have to eliminate them. A traitor is a traitor."
Tsunade shook her head. "We can't make assumptions yet. We need to investigate more, and we'll discuss our next steps once we get the information from Yahiko and the others. The most important thing right now is to deal with the Shell Organization."
The tension was palpable. Whether it was Yuyin Village or the Shell Organization, both groups were dangerous and difficult to handle. And if they truly were working together, things could become even more complicated.
