Chapter 6: Chapter 6
Timeskip: two years.
POV: NARRATOR
The sun dipped low in the sky, casting long shadows across the clearing. The gentle rustle of leaves was the only sound until two figures stepped into the center of the field. Uchiha Shisui, known as "Shisui of the Body Flicker," stood with a calm, confident demeanor. Opposite him, Uchiha Itachi, a young prodigy with a gaze as sharp as his blade, adjusted his posture. The tension was palpable.
Shisui smirked, his hand resting lightly on the hilt of his tanto. "Ready, Itachi? Show me what you've learned."
Itachi's eyes narrowed, the Sharingan spinning to life. "Always."
In an instant, Shisui vanished, a blur of motion that left only a gust of wind behind. Itachi barely had time to raise his kunai to block the incoming slash, the sound of steel on steel ringing through the clearing. Shisui pushed forward, his speed relentless, but Itachi twisted, using the momentum to slide away and counter with a precise kunai throw aimed at Shisui's blind spot.
Shisui sidestepped effortlessly, but Itachi was already there, closing the distance with a barrage of taijutsu strikes. Shisui deflected the punches with graceful precision, but his opponent's strikes carried an intensity that forced him to stay on the defensive.
"Good," Shisui said, blocking a kick aimed at his ribs. "But not good enough."
In a flash, he activated his signature technique: Body Flicker Jutsu. He disappeared and reappeared behind Itachi, swinging his tanto in a swift arc. Itachi ducked just in time, twisting his body to deliver a spinning kick that forced Shisui back. The ground cracked beneath their feet as they clashed again, each strike faster than the last.
Suddenly, Shisui's Sharingan flared. "Let's take it up a notch."
The air grew heavy as Shisui cast a subtle Genjutsu, warping Itachi's perception. The world around him blurred, and for a split second, Shisui appeared to attack from every direction at once. Itachi's Sharingan burned as he dispelled the illusion, but the momentary distraction allowed Shisui to close in, delivering a powerful strike to his shoulder that sent him skidding back.
Itachi gritted his teeth, his eyes blazing. "Impressive as always, Shisui. But I'm not done yet."
Focusing his chakra, Itachi weaved a series of rapid hand signs. Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu! Small, blazing fireballs erupted from his mouth, scattering in unpredictable patterns. Shisui dodged with ease, weaving through the flames, but his movements were subtly herded toward a waiting trap.
As Shisui landed, a barrage of kunai came from the shadows, each one attached to nearly invisible wires. Itachi yanked the wires, the kunai changing trajectories mid-air. Shisui's eyes widened as he deflected most of them, but one nicked his arm.
"Clever," Shisui admitted, landing lightly a few feet away. He glanced at the shallow cut, a grin tugging at his lips. "You're learning."
Without warning, Itachi surged forward, his movements now almost impossible to predict. Shisui found himself on the back foot, blocking and parrying but unable to counter. Then, in a brilliant flash, Itachi's Sharingan spun faster, catching Shisui's gaze. For a brief moment, Shisui felt himself being pulled into a Genjutsu, a dark world where time slowed.
But Shisui smirked. "Nice try." His Sharingan countered, shattering the illusion before it could take hold. In a blur, he retaliated with a high-speed kick that Itachi barely dodged.
The two paused, breathing heavily, their eyes locked. Sweat dripped down their faces, but their expressions were filled with exhilaration.
"You're getting closer, Itachi," Shisui said, sheathing his tanto. "But you'll have to try harder if you want to surpass me."
Itachi inclined his head respectfully. "I will. Next time, I'll win."
Shisui laughed, clapping a hand on Itachi's shoulder. "We'll see. For now, let's call it a draw."
"Menma, you guys can come out now." He called out.
Walking out of the shadow of one of the larger trees, Menma and Naruto headed towards the two Uchiha.
POV: MENMA.
Today was the day quite an eventful one, if I have to say. It was our birthday, the demon fox hunting festival and…the day my life was supposed to be snatched by the son of a furry.
I couldn't even focus on the intense spar that was happening in front of us. My mind was racing with the number of possible ways to survive the day.
"Shisui, if I told you that we might die today, would you believe me?" I said with a sad smile on my face. These two brats had kinda grown on me in the past two years.
"You little brat, it's Shisui Nii-chan to you. Is this all about the festival today? If you want, we could stay with you guys and camp in the forest together," he said in a matter-of-fact voice.
I could see the pity in his eyes, but the weight of my words hung heavily between us. "It's not just a festival," I replied softly, trying to convey the seriousness of my feelings. "But I appreciate you wanting to be there for us."
"So, it's settled. We are camping with you tonight, or would you rather stay at the clan compound." Itachi said as he wiped the sweat off his head.
Why did I involve my friends in this? Because I thought, 'If I'm going down, I'm taking everyone with me.'
And so the two Uchiha left with Naruto to go and buy the necessities. I am sure nobody in the village would touch my brother when he was with two Uchiha prodigies.
Then I felt it." Finally." I exhaled. I felt the hum return to my mind as the sounds of chains breaking resonated all over my body.
I called out to the hum and I felt an energy envelope my whole body.
Okay, let's try this again," he muttered, focusing on a swing Itachi had crafted for Naruto. I pictured it in my mind—the sound of it creaking, the way the sunlight hit it—and suddenly, the world folded around me . I reappeared next to the swing, landing unsteadily on my feet.
"Hahaha", I laughed loudly. Maybe with this, I might be able to survive.
POV:Kakashi (hound)
"Did… this kid just teleport!" My eyes were wide open in shock. I have to report this immediately.
POV: MENMA.
The moon was up in the sky and the others had just arrived a few minutes back and we were setting up the tents.
I pulled Itachi to the side and told him in the most serious voice I could master. "Itachi, I need you to take Naruto and Shisui and leave now."
But I think my timing wasn't as right as i had hoped. The air grew heavy and a familiar purple glow became present behind us.
"Shit." I cursed as Itachi and Shisui left to inspect the possible cause of the light.
And lo and behold there he was in all his horned glory.
"Who are you?" Shisui asked, gripping his tanto tightly. His eyes scrutinized the peculiar features of the stranger before him, focusing intently on the enigmatic third eye that resembled a Sharingan.
"I am the Sage of Six Paths and I have come for that boy's life." He said as he pointed straight to me.
Shisui's grip on his tanto tightened as he stepped protectively in front of Me and Naruto, his expression hardening. "You can't take him," he declared, his voice steady but laced with urgency. The air around them grew dense with tension, the weight of the Sage's words hanging ominously between them.
"I am not here to negotiate," the Sage said, his tone cold and unwavering. The third eye on his forehead glinted ominously, a haunting reflection of fate that sent a chill down Shisui's spine. "This is neither a warning nor a plea—it's a command."
With determination flooding his veins, Itachi rolled his shoulders. "You'll have to go through me first. I won't let you harm him." The resolve in his voice echoed through the night.
The Sage's eyes narrowed as if measuring the weight of their defiance. "I am sorry, my child, but I have a personal vendetta with him."
Naruto snickered from behind Itachi and shouted, " You sound more like a paedophile than the sage of six paths, you grumpy old man."
His eyes grew softer as he looked at Naruto. "You still have that admirable recklessness Asura."
I pulled Naruto behind me and sent Hagaromo the finger.
The battlefield was desolate, shrouded in eerie silence. The moon hung low, bathing the land in an otherworldly glow. Itachi Uchiha and Shisui Uchiha stood side by side, their Sharingan spinning, their breath steady despite the overwhelming presence before them.
Opposite them stood Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki, the Sage of Six Paths himself. His Rinnegan eyes bore into the two Uchiha, his expression calm yet firm. He radiated an aura of ancient power that made the air itself feel heavy.
"You've wasted your power to try to avoid the inevitable, but do you truly believe you can challenge me?" Hagoromo asked, his voice resonating like thunder. "I created ninjutsu. Your Sharingan and jutsu are but shadows of my power."
Itachi and Shisui exchanged a glance, their determination unwavering.
"We don't intend to defeat you," Itachi said, his voice calm and measured. "But if we must fight, we will do so with everything we have."
Shisui smirked. "And maybe surprise you while we're at it."
POV: Kakashi (hound)
After reporting to the Hokage, I felt an immense chakra from the location of the twins.
I quicked my pace for I knew so. Something was not right.
POV: Sarutobi Hiruzen
I was shocked by the information I gained from Kakashi, but a few minutes after, I felt a threat greater than my own release an immense chakra at the location Kakashi was heading.
POV: Black Zetsu
So it has started, I don't think I should involve myself in such matters, but it wouldn't hurt to watch.
