Chapter 13: Non Stop Learning
Two Months.
It took Kira two months to memorise the contents of every single scroll in the room and this was when he included his shadow clones. If he had done it alone, it would have taken him more than a year.
Once he was done reading the last scroll, he climbed out from the window and closed it before he began to run around the village. Even though he was busy reading the contents of the scrolls for two entire months, he didn't skimp out on his physical training.
Though he wasn't able to train with Guy and Duy, he still did the minimum amount required for him to get his yearly physique upgrade. One hour passed by quickly and once he was done with his training, he headed back to the hokage office, ready to announce that he had finished reading all the scrolls.
But he did not expect to see familiar faces on his way back.
"Asuma and Kurenai... what are you guys doing here?"
Kurenai sheepishly pointed towards the direction of the academy, "Today is the last day of our summer holidays but Asuma told me that he wanted to be the first to come back to the academy and brought me along... even though I wanted to sleep."
"Oh okay, but you're late. I was the first one to get to the academy so it's pointless not. Just go back home you two." Kira said as he continued to walk towards the hokage's office.
"Hey, I heard that my father is teaching you right now. Is that true?" Asuma asked as he ran towards Kira and grabbed his hand to stop him from running away.
Kira on the other hand was relaxed as he nodded in response, "Yeah. But I'm still a student of the academy. The only difference is that I'm learning a few extra things, that's all. Anyways, the hokage asked me to meet him right now. Do you want to come with me? Oh, but I don't know if he'll scold you two for going there without his permission though."
Kurenai did want to meet the hokage. After all, who wouldn't want to when most of their goal was to become the hokage. But when she heard that Hiruzen might get mad, she felt like a bucket of ice cold water was emptied on top of her head.
"Yeah... he barely comes home. That useless old man, tch." Asuma cursed as he kicked a pebble near him, pouting as a frown formed on his face.
Kira didn't say much and simply left the place. Once he was out of sight, they looked at each other, "He's the first one to go to the academy this year..."
Asuma looked at Kurenai and nodded, "Yeah... let's just go back home..."
On the other end, Kira sped towards the hokage's office as he jumped over the rooftops with incredible speed and precision. Multiple jonins nearby saw him and were about to intercept him, but when they recognised his face, they went back to passively standing guard.
Kira walked into the office a minute later and saw Hiruzen buried in paperwork. The piles of papers weren't as tall as when Naruto was hokage in the anime, but it was still quite thick.
"Teacher, I'm done reading all the scrolls. What do I do next?"
Hiruzen sighed when he heard Kira's words. While he did wish to teach the kid personally, the work he had on the table was overwhelming.
After the large nations fought in the first and second great ninja wars, they lost a lot of talented and capable ninjas and soldiers. Due to this, a lot of smaller nations and villages banded together and had been preparing for war for the past few years.
Sakumo's death simply served as a trigger and due to this, there had been multiple reports of attacks and skirmishes at the borders of the land of fire. This was the same for the three other large nations like the land of earth, wind and lightning.
With the possibility of war looming right around the corner, he really did not have the time to personally teach Kira anything. Even though he couldn't, he still had to do his duty as his teacher.
"Okay, which jutsu do you want to learn?"
"The wind blade!" Kira said as it had a lot of potential. An A rank Jutsu that helps the user create a sharp blade of wind and since it was invisible, no one would know in which direction the attack would come from.
As for why he picked something like this instead of the truly overpowered jutsu like the S rank flying raijin or forbidden jutsu like reaper death seal? It was because he couldn't find these jutsu's in the room.
Hiruzen let out a sigh of relief before nodding, "The wind blade has a simple concept, but it is hard to create. In all honesty, there isn't much for me to teach you here, so I'll give you the steps you have to follow to be able to learn this jutsu much faster."
Saying that, he lifted one finger, "Firstly, you'll have to train your chakra control. The better your control is, the less chakra you'll waste and the sharper your wind blade will be.
Secondly, based on what I know, you should be able to create a wind blade right now. It won't be perfect, but observe the state of your wind blade right now and compare it to the one you'll create in the future."
Nodding, he immediately did the handsigns before extending his index and middle finger. With a burst, he felt chakra shoot out of his fingers.
"NO! Not here, you idiot! Go out and test yourself there, not in the office." Hiruzen panicked as he was afraid that the blade would be too long or too wide and cut something important.
"Okay!" Kira said excitedly before he ran out of the room. Once he was outside, the excitement in his face disappeared as he slowly walked back home.
The expression on his face was bland, but a frown formed on his face as he began to think about the wind blade he had just created.
'I don't even know how long it is. Even though I'm the one who used the jutsu, I can't see shit and it's annoying. I'll have to improve my chakra control first and then practice hitting things with the wind blade to get used to it's distance and how it works.
Ding!
